My husband and I ate at Bellinis tonight for the first time. I didnt know we needed reservations and it was packed. They asked if we wanted to sit in the bar,I didnt but my husband did, so we sat in the bar. It was crowded and uncomfortable.The waitress was clearly working in both rooms, so the service was poor.I had swordfish which was a special and was good but not for $27. (which I felt the waitress should have told me the price first before I ordered it).My husband got spaghetti and clams with red sauce which he said was flat and too salty. It was very disappointing. People rave about this place but we didnt feel it was worth the money at all. If they are going to seat people in the bar, they need the staffing or send them away.New Haven Conuty has so many good restaurants to choose from, I doubt we will be back.

Amazingly good Italian cuisine. All their food I have ever had is near perfect. It really is a 5 star... the 1 point is taken off for some things that (for me) could be better. 1. Sometimes a long wait. Nothing outrageous. 2. Wait staff could be a tad friendlier. Theyre good people & they work hard, but Ive had servers elsewhere that are super friendly & attentive... just parked for the course here, but not bad by any means. 3. Only other thing is I prefer a more dimly lit, private-feeling ambiance. This is a lovely, clean place, but its bright, tables close together, so you hear & see other diners & waitstaff constantly around you. Not my cup of tea. But the food... Oh the food so makes up for any shortcomings I have mentioned. Ill keep coming here again & again!!

This was a quiet restaurant. I had been there a couple times before. We reviewed the menu to see what we wanted to order. The most expensive steak (New York Strip) on the menu was $21.00 and the most expensive dish was $27.00 (assorted Seafood). My husband ordered one of the specials and it was the Porterhouse Steak (18 ounce). When the bill came they charged him $34.00. He was shocked because the waitress never stated that price. They have a lot of nerve charging that kind of money for that steak. I could get a 12 ounce Fillet for $27.00 at another local restaurant and it is a better steak. We paid the bill and will never go back!

If I could give this zero stars, I would. This place was TERRIBLE! The food was cold and bland. The most bland calamari Ive ever had and my husbands spaghetti dish looked like what they serve in elementary school. I got the Filet Mignon which was a "special" that had no taste and also looked like what they serve at school. This "special" was $30!!! Nobody would come around to refill our water and our waitress was no where to be found. If you can avoid going here, I would!! Dont waste your money. We were so unhappy and had a bill of $77! The worst experience ever.

Service...one of the worst. At one point the waitress held a plate of apps and asked if we even wanted it because there was no room to put it on the table....like really? Another waitress took over our table, I am assuming the other girl was giving up on our high demands of asking for our drinks and getting clean silverware. Food was ok. Nothing to gloat about. Second time Ive visited Bellinis. First time was fantastic so I would go again. Hopefully that waitress was just having a bad day.

My wife and I recently visited Bellinis, we waited 15 minutes to be seated, we found the hostess to be curt and unprofessional, I ordered the scrod, my wife ordered eggplant parmigiana, my scrod was terrible, it seemed like it was laying around for a while before they cooked it, as it smelled. The parmigiana that my wife ordered was cold. Needless to say I will never go back there.

Traditional Italian small restaurant (hole in the wall type joint). Though the service was a little slow, the quality of all of the food and demeanor of the staff was top notch and 6/5 stars! Will definitely come back again!! FYI: Call ahead for a reservation or you may wait an hour, theyre usually packed.

Being here for work from NY and away from home i was looking for some good Italian food. Home Run with Bellinis!! Even though i did take out, the food is as good if not better than my favorite places at home! Great place excellent service quick turn around.

Wish the place was bigger - not thrilled you cant walk in without a reservation it seems. Food is amazing! I like the rear take out entrance. It eliminates a cluster at the front door for people that are just stopping for a second.

Terrible food. Dishes made with canned vegetables. Nickel and dime you... extra charges for things like blue cheese dressing. They have gone completely down hill
