Pleasantly surprised. Just ordered take-out: Chicken Avgolemono (side Greek salad), Gyro Sandwich, Spanakopita app and pastry for a treat. Spent $36 total for this lunch, dinner and then some. Interior: as promised with diner seating, dinner seating and counter. Seems to have a good upkeep and very clean. Service: painless call-in and check-out, fast cooking (they didnt seem to be very busy though). Location: obviously close to the Hotel (same building) and right at the I-95 ramps, plenty of parking. Food: Very nice! Gyro: well built and actually tasted like lamb (which is, sometimes, not the case), toasted bread and plenty of meat. Chicken: good portion of chicken (cooked to order), fantastic flavor of the rice (!) and not-mooshy veggies, sauce was balanced (good on salt, fat and lemon). Side salad was fresh and quite large with feta and dolma. Spanakopita deserves a separate paragraph: good piece with dough/filling proportions kept and the filling is moist! Not too much feta which generally makes it too sour. Good wedge-shaped slice, toasted for serving and not just taken off the tray and dumped into a box. It also came with a beautiful piece of fresh lettuce with a spoon of tzatziki and some roasted peppers. 5-star takeout presentation and taste. Glad I stopped by and will probably make it my new stop-in place when driving between NYC and Boston.

This is a good place for a late dinner date between say 8 and 10:00 P.M. when they close because the place is usually empty during those hours. Just one thing...... dont order the wine. I ordered a Merlot. The waiter brought me an ice cold glass of red wine. LOL. It had frost on the outside of the glass. When I called it to the waiters attention he said that red wine is best stored in a cold environment, then explained to me that I was the first to order wine all day, hence the lack of thaw time, and frankly was a little pissy when he said it. Im guessing that was a good excuse to him? I have been ordering red wine in restaurants for 20 years, and not once was it served cold. Red wine is served at room temp all over the world. I had to restrain myself from laughing directly at him out of courtesy. I guess the proud staff at the Greek Olive are challenging culinary boundaries and breaking barriers! LOL. Dude.... a little word of advice? If you are relying on tips for a living? how about not argue with the costumers, especially when you are wrong.

Stayed at La Quinta above this restaurant. Went here out of not knowing the area and laziness. Not great, not good, not recommended unless you are staying at La Quinta and you have mobility issues. Service was crappy and the food tasted like medicine except its not good for you. Your car will smell like the sh*tty harbor if you park in their lot for too long. My poor elderly, anally retentive Dad had to wash it when I came home to visit, b/c he thought it smelled like I ran over a mermaid. Then, I asked him, "How do you run over a mermaid?"

The owner of this restaurant insists on forcing his diners to watch Fox News in every room. So many channels like the food network and travel channel that have NO divisive political agenda (or negative "spin" or bad news you have to try to choke down with your food), but he chooses to alienate half his potential diners with Fox. He just alienated this one right out the door. And prior to this, every time I stayed next door I would eat most of my meals here. No problem driving a little further from now on.

My sisters and I ate dinner at the Greek olive because we were staying at the hotel next door. I would consider this more a diner than a restaurant. We had to seat ourselves. I ordered a vegetable wrap, it was good, but I thought it could have been better. My sister ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and she said that her sandwich was too soggy because there was too much hot sauce on it. It was okay, but I dont think I would eat there again.

The wait staff didnt was completely oblivious. I got up and left after having to wait ten mins without even having my order taken! They wouldnt pass if a health inspector came in. DONT GO HERE!

Great, romantic spot to spend a Saturday night having dinner. Having been here before my wife was very pleased with her surprise early Valentine Dinner. True to form the Union League delivered a fantastic dinner of shellfish starter followed by an amazing foie gras terrine for myself, escargot for my wife. We paired our entrees of duck and filet with...

I eat at restaurants all across the country and this is by far the most unprofessional service I have ever received. The only reason I did not give this place a worse review is because the food is decent. The staff makes an experience just as much as the food and the staff here made my experience so unenjoyable that I will never return.

This is a New Haven institution and offers a good selection of healthy and hearty breakfast foods. Even the non-hot food selection is very good. We got the yogurt cup (its unsweetened but very good with the added honey) which had a good ratio of fruit to yogurt. We also had the whole wheat bagel- nothing special.

Disaster! (BREAKFAST MIND YOU) LONG WAIT, COLD FOOD, OBLIVIOUS STAFF! WHEN AS A WAITRESS YOU ASK "HOW WAS EVERYTHING", AND THE REPLY WAS "DISGUSTING", AND YOU NOTICE ONLY 2 BITES HAVE BEEN TAKEN, MAYBE YOU SHOULD OFFER A COMP OR CHECK IN AFTER THE MEAL WAS SERVED TO SEE IF EVERYTHING WAS OK! I called and asked for a yee-ro. The person on the line said dismissively, "A gyro. Anything else?" Really? It is the closest thing to a yee-ro that I can find in New Haven. The meat is so-so and the tzatziki sauce is thick and bland. I try to adjust it at home with only minimal improvement.

Great food and service! Ive been there twice in the past few months and I havent had a bad plate. Burger was good and the steak wrap was delicious! If your shopping at IKEA or staying at the hotel connected to this establishment, do yourself a favor and check this place out.

The restaurant was dirty and the waitstaff wasnt attentive at all. They seated us at a dirty table and brought us dirty menus. We left before we had a chance to order. Its a wonder that the health department hasnt shut them down. Avoid this place at all costs.

This place is awesome! Friendly environment and GREAT food! Every time I visit Connecticut I always stop by and have my favorite grilled chicken salad with a piece of carrot cake! To die for! Try it out, you will not be disappointed
