My husband and I discovered this wonderful Umbrian restaurant just over year ago, so every time we pick up or drop off our daughter at Yale, we make a point to eat here. Scappos makes you feel like one of the family (it is family run), the food is exquisite, the wines are superior, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. In New Haven there are a few very good restaurants, but Scappos is our favorite because of the wonderful combination of delicious food, warm atmosphere, excellent wines, and personable service.

A Great experience. Trendy place, Excellent food , friendly service. You can meet Mom the chef ,dad the purveyor of gourmet , brother the Maitre D-Manager and sister the server of good food, what a super family. The service is amazing,you feel you are part of the family. We had the braised rabbit -perfect and the Tilapia very good. Dont miss the gnocchi it is to die for. A night at Skappo will make any occasion more memorable. Go soon.

Great, romantic spot to spend a Saturday night having dinner. Having been here before my wife was very pleased with her surprise early Valentine Dinner. True to form the Union League delivered a fantastic dinner of shellfish starter followed by an amazing foie gras terrine for myself, escargot for my wife.

Unbelievable cuisine! Everything homemade and beyond delicious. Service was great and the family environment is so welcoming. I will definitely be going back. The Rabbit on the menu is outrageous and appears to be their signature dish.

This appears to be a very nice restaurant and the service was okay. One of our chicken meals was not cooked properly and appeared raw. We told our waiter, who didnt say or do anything about it. The raw part was left uneaten.

Great prices and family-style seating and serving. The polenta, gnocchi, and all other pastas are delicious. Feels home-cooked and traditional, and the waitstaff is kind and pleasant.

Quaint little place with tons of healthy selections. Decent sized sandwiches, enough to share. Friendly staff, great taste, would definitely eat here again.
