Admittedly, my opinion is colored by the fact that construction going full tilt during my visit. Sawing and hammering caused waitresses and patrons to shout (literally) at one another. However, the two TVs were still playing with audio engaged. So, the noise did not allow a peaceful dining experience. On top of that, I was trying to read the paper and the waitress insisted on interrupting me to tell about her day, report tidbits other patrons had shared, and to ask me a myriad of questions. On top of THAT, I asked for crispy bacon. I received brown dust. The eggs (scrambed) were flat like an omelet and dry. The hash was an unfortunate mess. Even the toast was cold. Honestly, I cannot recall a worse dining experience.

Our children loved the place - a little small town authentic food coming from NYC, it was a nice change for home cook style as well as price. Place was not fancy but bacons were thick-thick. My children still speak of it after two yrs. If you are looking for an other than"every day" old fashion place - this is one of them. If you build up high hope for a great place you will be offended and write bad review like another here.

The first thing noticed when walking in was the tables were dirty. We are seated at a table and the waitress wiped the table down for us with bleach water.she brings us are milkshakes we ask for vanilla got vanilla bean. The scrambled eggs werent fully cooked and were watery. The pancakes had the texture of sawdust. Sausage tasted like grease. The only thing good was the buttered toast

Never once had anything bad from here!!love it my mom & I come here alot!great food & never stingy on portions!friendly service great great great!nice to have some place to eat besides burgers or pizzia or fast food!eaten everything from breakfas, lunch to dinner!all ways good!!

Wonderful diner food! Try the excellent corned beef hash or the eggs Benedict -- or both combined (Irish Benedict). The home fries are seasoned, so you dont need to add anything but a little salt. It has a big old-school counter where you can sit and talk to your neighbor.

Dont recommended this place they make you wait extra long when they are busy only one waitress dor 20 tables, waitresses are rude food is not all that and their service is ass , they need to upgrade.. last time i go 2 thumbs down

The food and service was amazing! such a cute environment and I loved the fact that a brother and sister own it! If we ever come back to Meriden we will be coming here again! Highly recccomend any of the eggs Benedict !
