There are not enough stars to describe what is unquestionably the best ice cream in CT. The flavors are rich, unique and unforgettable. Everything from sweet to savory and unexpectedly addictive, Eliza Florian is a gourmet artist who creates high-quality, small-batch ice creams that range from favorites like Chocolate, Coffee and Sweet Cream to Biscoff, Jasmine, Rum Brownie, Salted Caramel, Honey Lavender, Rosemary Apricot, Chocolate Raspberry Torte, Lemon Bar and Rose Chocolate Chip--just to name a few. There is even a selection of mouthwatering sorbets and some dairy-free alternatives that may be available in a wide variety of flavors (eg: passion fruit and raspberry to violet and gooseberry), enough to please any dairy-free customers! Every single person I have brought to Grassroots has been absolutely blown away by the staff, the selection and--most of all--the ice cream. Do Not Miss This.

Simply AMAZING is all I can say about this hidden Jen here in Granby Ct. The wide variety of flavors not seen anywhere else at any other ice cream shop alone makes it great but the fact that everything is homemade ON PREMISIS just adds to the experience. Do yourself a favor and stop in and treat yourself to a little taste of heaven....Thank you Grass Roots!

Grass Roots is the real deal. Delicious hand made ice cream selections bursting with flavor and goodies! It is very rich and very creamy. Every flavor Ive ever tried here has been awesome and loaded with the treats. They arent stingy with cookie, fudge, peanut butter or other candy pieces that go into the ice cream. This place is worth the trip!

Similar to Salt and Straw in oregon, these guys experiment with ice cream flavors. They had a rosemary cashew caramel, goat cheese and blackberry, vanilla jalapeño, and even more. There are flavors to suit anyones tastes. Really loved this and will be going back even though theyre 40 minutes from my house!

My girlfriend and I decided to take a drive up from Wallingford to try the ice cream at Grass Roots Ice Cream and we werent disappointed! It was totally worth the drive!!! Speedy service and unbelievably unique flavors. I cant wait to come back. I might have to make this a Labor Day tradition.

A great variety of unique flavored ice cream! I tried several flavors before settling on Strawberry Oreo on a Waffle cone and too a pint of Honey Lavender home too. Busy place, so expect a wait. Staff is friendly and polite. Looking forward to my next visit!

Everything here is amazing. The staff is friendly, the owner is a wonderful, accommodating person, and the flavors are far from dull. Their ice cream is handmade and not just flavoring: there are actual bacon bits in the maple bacon! Mind blown.

I loved the ice cream and the friendly atmosphere. The portions are generous and I would gladly go every day. I am a vegan and I think its great that they always have sorbet as well as sometimes a coconut milk based ice cream.
