I cant give a review about the food because we didnt get that far. I had never been to this establishment. I belong to a womens group so about 10 of us decided to go to lunch here because it was recommended. My first impression driving up was it was very dark looking, with a lot of black. Then going inside it looked like most any "dive" bar and dark inside, too. The largest table in the small bar/grill could not accommodate us all at one table. Someone in the group asked if we could pull over a small table (that seats 4) to join with the large table and were told NO. So one of the ladies pulled two chairs over from that table to our larger table so we could all squeeze in and sit together. Apparently someone with management came over and told us in not a nice tone to "please stop taking chairs." After an exchange between him and another lady as to the lack of availability to anyone sitting at the table whether by two of the ladies or taking two chairs we decided to leave. We were taken aback by their behavior and the hostility toward us made us feel very unwelcomed and that they did not want us as customers.

This has been one of the best places to eat for many years. Great locally owned place! Awesome menu - Sundays all you can eat Spaghetti special is usually great, except for a few weeks ago, we were wanting to have the Spaghetti special, the waitress was very rude about helping us from the start, we ordered this special and she walked away put our order in. When the food came out, it was not Spaghetti (it was Rigatoni)!? We told her we order Spaghetti and she said that is what is on your plate. We told her no, this was a different pasta and that is not what we ordered. She said whatever spaghetti/rigatoni it is all the same. I asked her why she did not inform us of that when we ordered and she said that it was not a big deal to inform us about. We didnt want to send it back, so we just ate it, she never checked on us nor filled our beverages - we asked for the check when she finally walked by and took her almost five minutes to get us that. If we go back, and happen to get her as a waitress, I will request a different server, as we will not put up with that attitude or bad service ever again.

I dont get over on that side of town as much as I used to, but I always liked stopping in for a burger and a schooner. Glad they finally started accepting cards, although I kind of miss having to play the ATM game - only a patron will know what that means...

The Beer Barrel has the best food in town whether you are in the mood for Mexican, Steaks, or just a juicy burger. I love their potato wedges and their NY Strip. They have a very friendly clientel and I always feel welcomed. Cari

Really good food. Service is excellent and the Beer is always cold. The best burgers in town. A real down-to-earth bar and grill. Most of the staff are very sports orientated.
