After a long day in the snowy mountains our group was looking for a low-key restaurant close to our condo (Keystone) with great food and a chill atmosphere. The Dam Brewery was a perfect choice! We started with the Asiago-Ale Dip which was yummy, although a bit smaller than we expected (served in a cup the size of a cup of soup). We had read reviews on Yelp prior to going and read about their Mountain Man Mac & Cheese with Blackened Chicken. Several of us got this and it was to die for - a huge portion (no one finished theirs!) with a creamy sauce that is perfect - not too rich - and the blackened chicken was moist & delicious. Another in our group got a salad with the honey-sesame dressing which was really yummy as well. The final member of our group had the Porkys Platter which he really enjoyed. Finally we split the Granny Crisp for dessert (or as we called it - played dessert roulette by taking a bite & passing it around - last one standing loses!). It was good, although very tart (its full of granny smith apples) so if youre not a fan of tart apple crisp you might want to make another selection. It was huge - there were 5 of us and we didnt even finish half of it - so order wisely! Our server (Sarah) was fantastic and did really well with our orders, several special dietary requests, and split checks. All in all a great experience and we will definitely go back on our next trip.

When we come to CO to visit family we usually stop for a meal at the Dillon Dam Brewery. We were there last week and had a bad experience with rude inattentive staff. Our waitress was okay but she did seem to disappear from the floor for long periods of time. A couple of times we wanted to ask her for things and just couldnt spot her. She brought us the bill but disappeared again. There were 4 adult women at our table with kids and we all agreed we had waited for her to return for a long time. Finally, I just took the bill up to the counter where there are hostesses and t-shirts for sale and asked if I could pay the bill there as we hadnt seen our waitress in a while. At about that time our waitress came up behind me and said that she will take care of the bill. Her tone bordered on irritation. My 8 year old granddaughter told me the waitress rolled her eyes when she walked up behind me. I gave the waitress the bill and my card and turned to join my party shopping for t-shirts but the 2 ladies/girls behind the counter also acted as if they were irritated with us, apparently in a show of solidarity with the waitress. We didnt buy any t-shirts and guess how much tip I left. Weve been going there for years but this is going to be the last time for DDB. In a world full of restaurants, service is everything.

With all the mixed reviews I wasnt sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was done. I started with their wings ordered extra hot. They werent mind blowing, but they were hotter than I was expecting. They came in the brewerys chipotle/bbq sauce, which was very full flavored, even if I wouldnt want my wings served in it every time. I was also surprised they were fried. The chicken came out almost falling-off-the-bone juicy. To that I added the poblano flat iron steak. It might not have been the absolute best cut of meat, but it was still surprisingly really good. It came out rare, just like I ordered it. I think their grill is just a tiny bit too hot, based on the coloring around the outside of the meat. My wife got the mediterranean salad with salmon added on. She was very happy with the quality of the salad. The salmon was just friend plain, so it wasnt anything to get excited about. The only thing that was odd was that we ordered the wings during happy hour at the bar, but half price apps only happens on Monday-Thursday. So that was surprising. The waiter explained it nicely and says he gets that question a lot. Overall the service was great too. Im definitely a fan.

ALLERGY ALERT! Allergy sufferers should avoid this place. I was served almonds in my vegetables, even though I made the server well aware of my nut allergy in advance. Fortunately, I didnt eat any of them directly, so I seem to be fine. When confronted, the manager was profusely apologetic, but frankly, clueless. She said she was not aware of what was being served that day. That is simply no excuse. It also sounded like this isnt the first time the cooks have "just spiced things up." The thought seemed to be that as long as nobody _intended_ to serve me nuts, everythings OK. The idea that they would review their policies seemed totally foreign. This is a culture of ignorance, Im afraid. They simply dont think allergies are serious there. The food was actually pretty good and the service was efficient. Expect a long line at the door. Onion soup was very good. Seared tuna was over-seared. Beef medallions were wonderfully cooked, although not seasoned very well. Beef burger ordered rare came medium, but was still good. Didnt get to dessert, obviously.

As a traveler from the city that holds the Beer City USA title for two years in a row, I am always looking up the local breweries where ever I go. This was the first one that popped up when I got to my hotel in Frisco. You cant go wrong with the normal staples of any brew house. The IPA, Sweet Georges Brown, and McLuhr’s Irish Stout are worth trying. They even have their Dam Lyte beer for those who are not into the craft brew scene and prefer a traditional domestic beer. Every one of their year-round beers has won at least 1 craft beer award. They also have great seasonal beers that change throughout the year. The food is phenomenal as well. Though they have a wide-range of food to choose from, their specialty burgers cannot be passed up. There is nothing better then a burger and a beer, and this place does both of the top-notch.

A quick glance around I saw an overpriced touristy brewery (we get it, DAM is a play on words), with overpriced pints, but thought eh what the heck Id give it a try. Was treated extremely rudely by the front desk greeting person. Not a smile or greeting, and she was visibly disgusted with seeing children - and apparently couldnt handle us not being a complete party (this happened around 4pm April 30th - off season). We were asked to step aside to let other more trendy single patrons take a seat when there were DOZENS of free tables we could see. Needless to say we left - Dam Brewery (theres that play on words again! Isnt it clever?) will not see a dime from me, and I plan on letting my friends know to avoid this place at all costs. I have never been treated so rudely by waiting staff. Next.

My husband and I went there last night while we were staying in Dillon. We were sat and it took about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to get a drink order. We waited another 15 minutes for our server to come back with our drinks before disappearing for another 10 minutes. We were getting ready to leave when the server came back to take our food order. Food was okay, I had the mountain mac & cheese and husband had a burger. My mac & cheese came with a roll that was so hard you wouldnt want to eat it, but my husband enjoyed his burger. After our food came, our server was attentive at times and eventually came around to fill our empty water glasses. All in all, I wont be going back there again.
