My son who just turned 4 and I were looking for a place to have a weekly early dinner for him before his theater troop that he just started. . I chose this place over Sonic thinking the food quality would be better. The food quality was better but over 4 times more expensive. I ordered a childs cheeseburger for my son for $6.00 and it didnt even come with fries. Almost half-way through his burger he accidentally dropped it on the floor. I went to find the waitress Becca and told her what had happened and she just looked at me expressionless. I asked her if she could do anything for me. We were the only customers in the restaurant at this time. She said that she couldnt do anything because the owner wasnt there. Now my son is asking for his burger. I explained to him that he couldnt eat it because it fell on the floor. I didnt want to spend $6.00 more on a small childs cheeseburger. I was feeling distressed. I had already paid my bill with my debit card and left a 20% gratuity. I asked the waitress if the owner had a phone that she could call and ask. She replied that the owner does have a phone but that it was her day off. At this point I became upset. I told the waitress that in my 4 years with my son this has happened before and the restaurant has always replaced the food. She said nothing. I told her I would not spend another dime in this restaurant and that I couldnt wait to write a review of my experience. She very nastily yelled from the back of the restaurant for me not to forget to write that it was my son that dropped his burger. I yelled back that I guess she never has had children and I hoped she enjoyed her 20% tip. I will never return. This is a terrible shame that this was handled this way. In such a small area with such few restaurants I would think that a business would practice more hospitality. Then again, the owner may have handled things differently. It sounds like the owner may need to hire better help.

I had read a few negative reviews here and in Yelp, so Ive been reluctant to stop. But, this morning I decided a wanted a "real" breakfast instead of the Starbucks stuff I usually get nearby. I figured what-the-heck...lets give Aspen Perk a try. I waited a few minutes to get seated in the nearly full patio. The patio itself was quiet (no street noise), roomy and tables were not squashed together so closely that you become a part of each tables conversations whether you want to or not. Once seated, I got a coffee very quickly and ordered an omelette just a few minutes after that. Throughout my time there the waiter was very attentive to anything I might have needed. The food arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. The large 3 egg veggie omelette w/potatoes and toast was hot when received and everything was actually quite tasty. In fact, the omelette could be split between 2 with smaller appetites than mine. I think its a little difficult to differentiate one veggie omelette from another - so Ill just say it was very good and I ate every last bite. My overall experience was satisfying enough that I have no qualms about eating there again, and will most definitely bring my wife as well. I rated 4stars instead of 5 due to price. Just a bit shy of $14 for the omelette place and coffee (w/o tip). Certainly more expensive than a Dennys or Village Inn.

Ive been to Aspen Perk many times. Normally the service is extremely slow (has taken 20 mins to get a coffee) but the food and coffee is good (esp. the hot chocolate). I went there today to have breakfast and do some work on my laptop. I specifically asked if they had wifi and they had no issues with me using my laptop. The waiter even watched as I plugged into the electrical outlet. However, as soon as I finished my breakfast, the same waiter came over to me and said they do not allow laptops to be plugged in which meant I had to leave (battery was low). I felt this to be extremely unprofessional. If they had said something upfront, Id have no issues but they made it perfectly clear they wanted me to spend money and get out. I was very much out of the way of everything and it was midweek so there were only 2 other tables in use so this was completely unnecessary. I also spent $15 and was only there for about 20 minutes so I certainly dont think I was using anything to excess. I will not return. Aspen Perk, you lot a customer for (maybe) a cent or two worth of electricity. Hope it was worth it.

I think this might be the worst restaurant I have ever been to. We waited 40 minutes after ordering our appetizers, only to receive 2 plates full of uncooked potatoes (1 order of loaded tots and 1 order of potato skins). Then our meal came out, all the French fries were burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside. The hamburgers were literally pouring out grease. I asked for raw onions instead of grilled onions, but received grilled onions with the promise of raw onions later, which never arrived. Every time our waitress refilled our sodas, she mixed up the diet and regular sodas so we had to play musical chairs with our sodas, to figure out who got what. One of us ordered a salad that was basically iceberg with a few pieces of fruit that still had pits in it. Overall, there were 5 of us ordering food and everything was inedible. Dont even try going here, unless you want to sit there for 2 hours unable to eat anything.

Very disappointed from the moment we walked in. Only 2 tables sat and no one waiting but when I requested a booth for my husband and I, I was told no I could not sit in a booth because it is Va!engines Day and they are saving them in case they get busy. In the next 10 minutes she sat 3 different parties of 2 in the booths. Then the food was terrible! The potatoes were inconsistently cooked with some the fork would not go in to the extreme of burnt. I sat my meal aside and told the waiter I was not satisfied. He offered to remake but I said no thank you! When we got the bill my meal was still there ($5.00) I said you still expect me to pay for my meal? He replied Yes the owner advised you need to pay for it. Last time we eat there! Poor business decision for $5 on the part of the owner!

Went here for breakfast. One couple complained about waiting for a long time without being served. The staff seemed to be having a rough day. Everyone around us had something to complain about. One man found a bread bag tab in his plate. I ordered a scone which was extremely dry! My eggs benedict English muffin was not toasted, the eggs were runny and raw, and the avocado was completely brown. The coffee was pretty bad. By the time I got the half n half I asked for, my coffee had cooled. Bless their hearts, they were a nice wait staff, but definitely struggling. We stopped at Starbucks after for a croissant and coffee.
