The Rainbow is easily my favorite bar in the country. Its still mostly original. Its historical. Everywhere you look, you see pictures and memorabilia of the famous people whove been there. They sat in those very booths. The things that have happened there would probably offend some people. Its a definite must for any rock music fan. Its a rock bar, plain and simple. Now, the food. We have eaten there on 4 different occasions and the food has been great! I have not had a bad dish there. The drinks are pricey but when we went, we went with no limit on the bills. The drinks were very well made though. Each one was great. Some have mentioned that people go there just to see famous people. Well, you actually can. When we were there the first time, we met Ozzy Osbourne on a Friday at lunch time. He was in for a meeting upstairs. They do really still go there but maybe not as much as they once did. We werent necessarily there for that though. As a rock fan for my entire life and knowing about the Rainbow, I was there to experience it and to mark it off my bucket list. It was just cool to meet Ozzy there by chance. So it does really happen. If you are a rock fan, go in and enjoy the history of the Rainbow. Soak it in. One day, itll all be gone.

My favorite place in ALL of LA!!! Seriously LOVE the people, the service, food, drinks, price is right ALMOST EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!!! EXCEPT THE DJ UPSTAIRS! Look I love this place to death, I come to ROCK OUT, when the DJ plays OLD SKA music I AM NOT ROCKING. I visited LAST FRIDAY AND THE MUSIC WAS SO AWFUL THAT PEOPLE WERE LEAVING THE MOMENT THEY HEARD WHAT WAS PLAYING!! PLEASE GET BETTER DJS HELL ILL BE THE DJ JUST GET A BETTER ONE. Whoever hires DJs needs to be replaced or step up their game because the MUSIC IS KILLING IT IN A BAD WAY. No one wants to hang out upstairs when the music SUCKS! I people watch intensely, I know that they leave because the music is NO FUN. I come for the music the least the DJ can do is PLAY ROCK MUSIC! I AM BEGGING YOU RAINBOW STAFF PLAY BETTER MUSIC!!! Every friday for the past year that I have visited has had the absolute WORST DJ!! I come from an hour away and its nearly heartbreaking for a Rock Enthusiast like myself to come ALL the way to the BOW for HORRIBLE music. It really kills the whole vibe and mood that is the awesome BOW.... Pleaseplease please! GET A DJ WHO ACTUALLY PLAYS ROCK MUSIC! THAT is the ONLY complaint I have....

If you are going for ambiance only then this is the place! If youre going for good food and good service, Id choose somewhere else if I were you! We actually gave this place 2 chances. On vacation from TX my husband wanted to go here because of the history. The waitress had ADD and kept forgetting about us. Then when paying she had to come back and make sure the credit card we gave her was from us. The second time..our last night in CA, the waitress acted put upon when we asked her for large glasses of water. She had another waitress bring a Luke Warm pitcher of water on our table. When asked if we could have the large glasses she indicated the pitcher...when I told her it was Luke Warm she went off in a huff. The first waitress got a $2 tip...the second got $1! The food was sub-par at best! So...if going here for ambiance...then go for it. If you want your trip ruined in part due to bad service...youve been warned!

If you are a fan of motorhead or rocknroll, this place is a must visit in LA. Its about a 45 minute uber ride from the airport, so if youve got a long layover, its a great place to come have a few drinks. The only thing separating it from other similar bars is the fact that lemmy used to hang out here and its uniqueness to Beverly Hills. The food is alright and the prices are actually quite affordable, considering the location. Im from Florida and dont often find myself in LA. I dont know if I would bother visiting again if I werent a motorhead fan, but the fact that lemmy used to hang out here gives the place a special charm that I would find difficult to resist. Its a part of rock history and having a beer here is akin to a pilgrimage. The reasonable prices and friendly service are reason enough to pop in and have a beer if youre in the area. That fact that its Lemmys spot is just an added bonus.

This is a people-watchers paradise. I grew up with the rock of the early 80s through the hair/glam band days, so the Rainbow is obviously an iconic member of the historic rock venue trinity (with the Whisky and Roxy) for those of us of that era. Lots of pictures and memorabilia covering the walls and ceilings, which is great to check out. But the people-watching element is the best. It is definitely a place where posers, wanna-bes, and wanna-be-seens go in search of attention. Anyones attention. Its both sad and fascinating, but totally worth it. The doorman, maître d and server were all nice and laid-back and the service was very good. We had eaten a few hours before coming there for drinks, so we just ordered 4 or 5 appetizers to snack on - all of them were great. The mozzarella sticks (actually, they were the shape of tater-tots, but about 3 times the size) were the best Ive ever had anywhere.

Absolutely amazing...almost another version of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame loaded with historical character you could look at for hours and, of course, incredible food. Even something as simple as pizza tastes awesome. Okay, its a little pricey but its the essence of Hollywood and the Sunset Strip. All of the staff have had great personalities, can recommend the best on the menu and have stories to tell -its impossible not to with the people who visit here (and youll likely leave with one of your own eventually). Its a hit or miss if youre going to wait for a table or not, depending on when you go (we were seated immediately on a weeknight), but if youre visiting Hollywood you cant skip the Rainbow for a chain restaurant! The experience and food is worth the wait and if you have to park further away (the lot isnt very big) just walk. You wont be disappointed.

One of the oldest place in the famous Sunset Strip. The Rainbow Bar and Grill has a lot of music history behind it. If you are a person who appreciates classic rock you will love this place. They have outstanding food. If you are just coming for a drink or dinner you will enjoy the food. Anything from great soups to excellent pasta dishes. This place does getting busy no matter what time of the day you go. I highly recommend the meatball sandwich. For main dishes I would recommend the any of the fish dishes or the filet Mignon. Leave room for desert as they several great dishes. I would order the chocolate mousse or the Tiramisu. The valet parking or street parking. Hands down one of the coolest places in LA.
