Im on a mission to find the best breakfast burrito (BB). While hole-in-the-wall Mexican spots are the typical jam for this, there are many burger joints that do it too. Hi Life Burgers was a stop I had to make on my journey. Hi Life Burgers is like a mom and pop operation with a fast food look. Many diners start off like this before spreading out to multiple locations. I didnt try the burgers here, but will probably do so since it would probably be better than the BB that I had. -=-BB Bacon-=- It was a filling burrito. Slightly larger than average. Egg were a bit scrappy, not too fluffy. Bacon was halfway crispy, which is not that bad a thing, but I didnt get hit with the bacon taste blast either. Hash browns were average, but I would have preferred a bit more crispy. Salsa was better than average that what I would have expected. All in all, I continue my search and give this BB the "decent" title.

For the life of me I cannot understand why this place gets great reviews. The food is terrible: No flavor at all. Everything is greasy and salty. It all tastes the same- I seriously think they do not clean the grill. Breakfast foods taste like burgers, and then the burgers taste like....nothing. Plus, I apologize for being gross, but everything here.... comes out faster than it goes in, if you catch my drift..... The one star goes to the cashiers- the young women working the front counter are fast, accurate, well-trained, and know how to manage the staff in the kitchen. Skip this place- go to In and Out, Habit, McDonalds, whatever you wish, and get a better burger for probably a lower price.

I always get excited to try out a food truck.Put me in a park of several food trucks and Im a kid in a candy shop.Theres a great number of options including all things bacon, ice cream and even a beer truck.Its been a while since Ive had a gyro and I gave in to the gyro truck there and I made the right decision.I scarfed that gyro down in seconds. I had to get desert, and got a vegan vanilla cheesecake sundae.I probably wouldnt have noticed that the ice cream was vegan if I wasnt asked. It was tasty and perfect for that warm and sunny evening.I hope I get the chance to go here again.

While they do not have much of an online presence, Hi Life is known to locals as an excellent and historic burger spot in downtown South Pasadena. Specializing in burgers and American/Mexican food they have excellent zucchini fries and incredible burgers! Their orders of fries are also massive, which I always have leftovers from even when I get the smaller size. There are bathrooms in the back and some nice, simple seating if you want to eat there.

Ive been coming to Hi-Life for well over a decade since Im a South Pasadena native. Its been a staple landmark of the small town and offers the only burger diner of its kind around here. The quality isnt as good as I remember but I still continue to make occasional visits for their breakfast burritos, which are pretty enjoyable. Salsa that comes with it isnt spicy but its incredible.

Great value! Kids pastrami meal, $5.50. Jr burger, #4, $2.70. Add cheese $.30. Onion rings, #5, $2.35/$3.60. Fries, $2.05/$2.75. Orange bang drink $2? Thousand island, add sugar, try adding mustard? Mayo/sugar/mustard? Ranch. Ketchup. Peppers/carrots.

Service was wonderful. However, the burger was tasteless (I had a bacon cheeseburger!) The cheese fries were also tasteless; the cheese had no flavor and the fries were soggy. Despite this, the place was obviously very popular with the locals.

For me, their Hi Life Burgersr is with no doubt the best burger in South Pasadena. The Argentinian family that runs this small food truck is super nice and they really want to make sure that the meat will be cooked the way you want to.

Hey, some people do. But this is just over-priced junk. Oh, and by the way, its cash-only. So avoid the hassle, save a few dollars, and just drive a few more blocks to McDonalds. At least the food there will be decent.

Old school burger joint in South Pasadena. Their burgers are good. Tip: Ask them to add grilled onions to your burger for extra charge. My favorite is the Turkey burger with I ask to add grilled onions and avocado.

Ive been coming here since I was 6, maybe earlier. Id come here after AYSO, church, shopping, school, whatever. The food is great and it can get crowded, but what quality places dont get crowded?
