Filet mignons were not filets, but strip steaks. Received well done steaks the first time, the second time, they were done correctly, but the steaks looked old, and gray, and tasted sour. The chef said that the full gray steaks were medium rare, and fresh! Ive bought bargain steaks at the grocery and made better steaks than that. The garlic chive mashed potatoes were not creamy, and had no garlic or chive taste. Lamb was over done, sent back and then overdone a second time. Salmon was good, but the accompanying pasta was dry and tasteless. When the bill came, drinks were double billed, drinks that were never available were billed, and comped meals were not comped. Manager "fixed" the bill, but never solved the issues that were brought up. Other tables around us had similar issues with basic dishes (Bolognese not available, advertised seafood not available, dishes delivered improperly, no bread and butter?!?) I expected this restaurant to be on Kitchen Nightmares, not a Zagat rated restaurant.

Excellent Food, Service and Beer selection. Great prices for the quality of food/atmosphere. Both times we have been here the servers really know their beer and menu items and were extremely pleasant and quick. The food is excellent, fish and chips were light and perfectly cooked, hamburgers are phenomenal. The cob salad was excellent, all the food seemed really fresh! The rum runners were good, if you like sweet drinks, if not stick to the beer, the variety of draft beers is great! The view is excellent, and the panoramic windows make the view available from wherever you are seated. I bet this place is packed in the summer with the patio open. We will definitely be back.

Our waiter was attentive, courteous and super friendly. The view cant be beat and the atmosphere was awesome. The speed of food and quality was lacking though. It felt like it took about 20 minutes in between ordering appetizers and main course. Calamari was excellent as were the stuffed bell peppers. Ribeye seemed under seasoned and lacking in flavor. Carne asada tacos were also under seasoned and meat was very dry. Fish tacos had good flavor but fish seemed over cooked. Family and friends say its a great place to eat, but I wasnt impressed. Got the feeling there were busy so maybe just an off night. We will try again as it is a really cool place to eat in south lake.

Beautiful beach and Lake view, waterfront. My husband and I toured Tahoe on our bikes and then came here for lunch, since it is on the bike path and has racks for your bike. I had the clam chowder and it was very good. My husband had an Avacado burger and it was also good. We ate in the bar so as to have a good view without the long wait for a window seat. Cute little place, great for lunch and lots to do and see around the area to walk off all the yummy food. Very cute area. Beach right in front made me wish we had a football to toss around or a kayak to jump in and paddle off in :) a lovely little spot Id like to go to again!

I had the fish and chips and it was either way overcooked, or they re-fried it. It was like they took some frozen cod with freezer burn and fried it in oil used to cook something else. It did not taste right at all and I felt awful after. It was listed as a favorite on the menu and that is why I chose it. The calamari was okay and I wish I had just ordered that for lunch. The location is nice because it is right on the lake (I give it one star for that and the calamari). I was not satisfied at all and I should have sent it back now that I think of it. Honestly, I would have rather had fillet o fish from McDonalds.

Pros: The view of the lake is nice. Good staff and service. Cons: The food. I had the bacon burger and it was not that great. Meat had no flavor. Would of rather had an In and out burger. My wife had fish and chips which was decent. We went with our three kids and their kids meals are ridiculous. They are $10 and the mac and cheese was kraft mac and cheese out of a box. Plus didnt come with a drink. Every other place kids meals are below six bucks and come with drink and taste better. To give the server credit he did take it off the tab once I called them out on it being kraft.

Seating was quick and we were able to get a table outside. Thats the good. Server got our order and drinks then the wait... We waited. And waited. The people sat after us got their food and left before we got ours. It was a good 45 min. That wasnt the bad. It wasnt good, but the bad was the food was improperly cooked. We had overcooked $40 steaks and had to wait again to have the steaks redone. They brought one back having said it was fine. Second one wasnt right either but didnt want to wait again so we settled. Had high hopes but left disappointed.

We came here to watch a basketball game. We asked our server to put it on the tv for us and she started working on figuring it out. Somehow she messed up the input and the manager berated he for it. We were pretty upset about that and finally said something. It wasnt her fault wed asked to have the game put on and her mistake was a simple, forgivable one. We ended up with a free pitcher of Rum Runners and gave the server a big tip. She followed us out to the parking lot to thank us., Overall a good time, but that manager is a jerk.

The view and atmosphere are great, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The service recieved was a bit sub-par, not sure if the wait staff was short that day, but we hardly saw our waiter during dinner. The food was a 6.5/10, definitely not great but not horrible either - I expected better based on reviews and pictures. The grouper and salmon were both a bit overcooked, and for the price left much to be desired. The drinks from the bar were satisfying at least!

It is right on Lake Tahoe. The views are excellent. Has a large outdoor area which is wonderful when weather permits. The soup was delicious- a buffalo chicken. Wait person said they are known for their clam chowder but we didnt try it. The drinks were good and service was good. The strawberry salad was just ok. The place is quite crowded if you sit in bar area. You will wait for a seat in dining. It is tucked away and can be a little hard to find.

The reviews for Beacon werent great, but we enjoyed it - good lakeside views, nice patio (not open in winter), good service, and really good food. They were slammed when we went in - bar packed, every table full, so they werent super speedy getting to us, but once they came over everything was speedy. We had calamari, winter salad, fish and chips, and clams - all were good, clams and salad were a standout. I would recommend if youre in the area.
