The food was creative and very tasty. The service was HORRIBLE!!!! With reservations, we were seated more than an hour later. Drink orders were FINALLY taken only to have two of the six show up on the table. We got the server that was obviously wishing she was anywhere but at work. We had to request silverware settings and napkins. Eventually... and I am talking almost an hour after ordering, 5/6 of the food that we ordered showed up. The mom was last to be served and that was 10 minutes after the other meals were delivered. Hair was found in three of the food items. The busboy took silverware and plates off the table mid meal and left mom desperately grabbing for the silverware as the busboy was taking it! Two different desserts were ordered to be shared by the six of us. The waitress literally dropped them off at the table - no silverware AT ALL - nor were any plates given for what was going to be an obvious share!!!!!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! It was so bad, it was actually laughable! And even though the owner and the manager came to check on us at which time we reported the issues we were having, things still werent getting done. We even went in search of our own extra plates. They were catastrophically understaffed for a holiday like today and it was crystal clearly apparent!

We used to really like the junkyard, but lately its gotten spottier and spottier. More recently we have twice ordered through labites delivery service (who always does a great job)...both times the order was wrong. This last time we ordered a chili dog and three different calzones. There was no chili anywhere to be seen and all but one of the calzones was not what we ordered. We called labites, not to get a refund or replacement, but to merely to advise there were big quality issues here and they offered to have the order re-delivered after talking to the junkyard manager. We accepted but most of us were so hungry that we finally got canned chili out of the cupboard and just ate the wrong calzones. 45 minutes later the labites driver came and said the junkyard refused to honor its deal and wanted to take the calzones back so they could see them. Seriously? Never again.

The food, service and taste were aweful. Not to mention my fork was smaller that the rest of my utensils. I got the open face new york sandwich "queen style" which meant it had burnt bacon and canned mushrooms on it. the steak was not seasoned and aweful tasting and had the texture of being boiled then slaped on the pan. Its bad enough that they serve costco hotdogs at an outragous price but they gave a editor of the ventura times a free meal in order to get yet another article in there about them. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Do yourself a huge favor and go ANYWHERE else but this craphole. I had to give them one start cause zero stars was not an option. Long story short, Id rather hunt and forrage for my food like the guy in the movie "into the wild" than eat here ever again.

The Junkyard is a really fun place to go to. Theres "junk" hanging on all the walls to make it really feel like a junkyard, and the food is pretty good. But what really makes this place special is all the events they have. Im not sure exactly what days these are, but every week they have a Thanksgiving day and a magic show day, and every holiday they do special offers for different foods and drinks. The menu is also really cool, because its all hand drawn and every item has its own name like "The Godfather" or "Crash and Burn chili." One of my favorites are the Irish Nachos, a plate of potato chips with spicy chili and cheese. I only give 4 stars instead of 5 because because I think they are lacking very many vegetarian options, if you dont want a salad.

The name is totally saying everything about the restaurant. My expectations were excelled. The entrance is full with junk but presented in a decorative way. Staff is wearing jumpsuits. The bar and restaurant is separated with a little fence and everywhere is junk spread out. The floor is rustic and it even has a little garage door installed. Good job in decorating guys, everything matches and make you feel like sitting in a real junkyard. To the food: I was here for breakfast and ordered oatmeal with fruit. Good portion that filled me up. Fruit were fresh and all ingredients were set on the side so you can decide how much or what to put in the meal. The other dishes were tasty and filling as well. Im definitely coming back when I am around.

We traveled around the California and went to dine at this restaurant. We liked the interior in the style of the old America. We felt some of the history of ancient things. All decorated in an original and humorous. During lunch, through the restaurant passed the a real folk orchestra. The best part is that the waitress found out that we were from Russia and was very friendly to us. She recommended to take the corned beef. It was tender meat Ive ever eaten! We also ate a memorable dessert. The restaurant staff advised us how to have fun in the surrounding area. Thank you very much for all this. A visit to the restaurant was for our family one of the highlights of our entire trip!

I received very slow service, the expectant hot meaty chilli turned out to be a bowl of luke warm refried beans with onion and cheese sprinkled on top,by far was the farthest thing from chilli. My daughter received her dinner in a dog bowl, which I thought a little unappetizing,I know its the theme....too much junk around the place,so I left the bowl called chilli.Still had to pay for it,no offers of a change of food by then was too late and my family had finished their food already, they need some changes esp.. attitude towards customers, the couple sat next to us were waiting over an hour for their food,so it wasnt a good first impression.I may try them again someday..

Good food, but experienced bad service. The ABC scramble was tasty, as was the veggie omelet. The waffles and pancakes look good, very big. The breakfast burrito doesnt look very nice; cant opine on the flavor. So overall Id give the food 4 stars. The reason for the 3 stars is the service. We came here with a group of about 20. We were helped by one server, and either he was not up to the task, or the group was too large for one man. Either way, 3 orders never arrived, and one persons food was taken without consent. Eventually the food came after complaints, and order was restores. Still, very careless and unprofessional, and needs to improve.

Dining in was excellent; however, the next time I ordered to go. When I ordered from the online menu I was charged twice what I expected: $22 for a large hot dog and fries. On the phone I repeated 4 times the price stated to make sure but the closest I got to confirmation was "okay". After arriving there was something about the person taking the order had to total it, the woman wasnt available, blah, blah, blah. The food was still good but it cost more than dining in for less food. Maybe dont order over the ? Phone.
