This is the first time we have eaten at a restaurant where the service was atrocious; hugely disappointing for a Fairmont Hotel. I cant believe the other positive reviews. The Fairmont promotes their "team service model", yet no one was responsible, and no one can get credit if the service is done well. First, the food is very expensive ($50+ for only an average steak, $10 per side dish!) Second, the service was non existent. After a long wait, only the steak arrived. The side dishes (mashed potatoes and broccoli), finally came 30 minutes later, when we had already eaten our steaks, even after we had reminded several staff that we flagged down, that we were still expecting the side dishes to be eaten with our steaks. Nothing. No additional water refills, and dirty dishes and empty glasses not removed. Wow...I have never experienced such poor service anywhere in the world, and premium prices to boot! Never again; a completely unacceptable experience.

me and 9 other people from my work went to the grill for dinner we all wanted something to drink the two ladies in our group order a bottle of wine and before the rest of us could order the waiter walked away not even asking us if we wanted something to drink. we had to call him back and the waiter was not a very young man he should of know a bottle of wine is not going to be enough for 10 people. most of use order a steak and when the food came my stake was under cook i order mine medium well and it came to me it was very rare had to sent it back they could not get get it right. i will never step foot into this restaurant ever again i would rather starve to death than eat at this place ever again and the prices are very high for very poor service and bad food

Usually I just sit at the bar and have some appetizers and drinks. The bar tenders are always super nice and fun to talk with. The lobster bisque is super good, I was eating it way too often when I first moved downtown and started to get a lobster belly. This place is pretty high end, but no one seems to care when I show up in shorts and a tank top with my skateboard. Typically the patrons at the bar are friendly and enjoy striking up conversations, too. I think this place draws a big business person crowd and probably a lot of them are traveling. Great wine selection. Free apples. Fancy paper napkins. Nice steak selection. And I would say reasonably priced for what you get.

Two words: lobster mash. Steaks are phenomenal and service is terrific. Located in downtown San Jose at the Fairmont hotel, I never tire of this place. Ive dined here for about 20 years and its delicious every time. Crabcakes apps are the best. The entrees are mainly ala carte (some include garlic mash or creamed spinach), but youll want to order a few sides as well. The wine list is exceptional and covers the gamut. Back half of the week youll need reservations, especially during the holidays. The souffle dessert takes a while to prepare so to be sure to order ahead. Its excellent and plenty to share among two (or more). Grab an apple on the way out.

My wife and I went there for dinner on Friday, since we could plan for her to be on time for her symphony rehearsal a block away. The food was delicious. My wife had the Ahi Tuna, I had the herb crusted Halibut, and we split a strawberry bib salad. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. The real extra special kindness that was shown was that since we were going to be downtown for a few hours and would not be able to refrigerate our leftovers, they volunteered to keep them for us in their cooler for later pickup after my wifes rehearsal. We will definitely go back many times to this wonderful restaurant.

As expected from a restaurant attached to a luxury hotel this steakhouse is very good. The staff is attentive without being intrusive and were quick to respond to any requests. I had the 20oz cowboy rib eye steak which had an excellent char to it while still maintaining a mouthwatering juicy center. The butternut squash soup was excellent, very smooth, however there was a small chunk of onion that the immersion blender missed. I also had a wedge salad which also met expectations. The creamed spinach with the steak was delightful. I look forward to coming back here.

Always a pleasure to go to the Grill. Love the appetizers and a glass of wine to start. Chicken moist and tender. Love the vegetables are cooked perfectly to keep flavor and not soggy. Atmosphere is wonderful and the bar is always attentive to keep your not waiting around if you want another glass. Mr. J. Gibson came around to the tables and was friendly and intent on the customer service satisfaction. A very good people person. Wish we lived closer and we would partake more often.

The service was great, however the quality of the food was sub par. My wife ordered the steak salad, which came undercooked, and just wet. Youd expect the lettuce and croutons to be crunchy. I ordered the medallion steaks. The first one was cooked perfectly. The second one was fatty, chewy, and just a bad piece of meat. We should have gone to McCormicks and Schicks, down the road. The food is way over priced for the quality.

Tenia muy buenas reseñas y decidimos comer aquí, pero el sitio resultó ser muy regular... la comida no estaba muy bien, no puedo decir que me ha gustado mucho. Bastante caro para lo que es...

“Terrific New Years Eve Dinner” This highly rated restaurant deserves all its accolades, for outstanding food, superb service (even to the valet parking available), and beautiful atmosphere. We sat in the main courtyard, near the pool, with the sky overhead. The fountain and lighting, as well as small pool, added to the atmosphere. The caesar salad was as good as reviewers had noted. The tortilla...

Wow one of the best meals I think I have ever eaten, went during lunch, not many people inside. very clean (I have seen the inside kitchen also) my meal was just as I requested, seasoned perfectly, steak cooked exactly right. Servers most friendly I have ever experienced, will return many times again! Very Highly recommended!

Great Happy Hour drinks and apps! One of those rare finds, an upscale place with good deals. Martinis are delish, especially the Ruby Red Lemon Drop Martini! The one thing I found less that good was an Ahi Tuna and Avocado Stack that we ordered. The tuna was extremely bland and the wontons served with it were as well.

While it is a nice location and the small patio is enjoyable. The steak salad I had was one of the least inspired $25 meals Ive regretfully experienced. Everything part of the dish seemed to be limp and distressed. Service was fine but for the prices I didnt expect to be handed my plate and asked what I had ordered

“Nice place to celebrate” Went for our anniversary. many seats overlook a creek that is lit at night. Menu is simple but well done, they welcome substitutions and portion size changes. Parking is good. reservations suggested as they do get busy. the staff is quite knowledgeable. The house wine is good.
