Im taking a pastry making class and the pastry chef instructor told us that the vanilla bean here in good quality and worth the purchase. I bought the a bag of vanilla beans for $20. Organic is more at $30. Im looking forward to using it in my future pastry creations. We got a scoop of saffron ginger ice cream and Mexican vanilla bean which has many bits of dark vanilla bean crumbled in--both were really, really tasty. I highly recommend the ice cream here. Sooooo good.

Once more for a visit to to the land of Xanath for more of their delicious ice creams. This time a story of Strawberry and Dutch Chocolate. Always great when the local strawberries are in season. Super creamy and super fresh as always. after a scoop of each there were a pints to go home for later enjoyment. My thanks to the staff on 6/1/2017. They were quick a pleasant. But that must be easy with the great ice offered here making all the customers who enter happy ones.

Saffron ice cream is the flavor to get here. Intensely scented and the rich custard yellow is awesome. I prefer the one with a ginger bump, but if its your virginal cruise to Xanath, opt for the pure. Also try their different types of vanilla. The fruit flavors here are a little too dense (especially mango), but in general, solid ice cream that rivals Bi Rite for the crown. Persimmon or fig are also good calls. Never really a line!

This is by far the best vanilla ice cream Ive EVER had- bar none. Its a blink and you miss place on the street, but I like it better than Bi-Rite up the street (for vanilla at least). Rarely a line and super nice people. The flavor will linger on your tongue (they use alot of real vanilla bean and you can even buy the stuff they use to take home). Its on my top 5 places to show people in the Mission. Cant rave about it enough.

Im a huge supporter of ice cream on warm days in the Mission. This place serves up some simple but fabulous flavors. I specifically go there for the Saffron ice cream mostly because I cant seem to find it anywhere else. The store itself is a bit small but they do have a bench outside that is great for basking in the sun while you enjoy a scoop or two.

Creamy apple cinnamon ice cream; interesting idea- tastes like big red gum. Overall the ice cream is below average in terms of texture and creaminess, but the shop has unique flavors that make it an interesting adventure. If you want exceptional quality ice cream I would go somewhere else.

Do you really like vanilla ice cream? This is your place. Theres at least four different vanilla ice creams and everything is made with real vanilla beans or other fresh ingredients. Another plus: the line will never be as bad as Bi-Rites.

My favorite creamery in SF! Ice cream tastes really delicious, rich and natural (unlike for example "bi rite" which has just simple factory cheap taste). My favorites here are: fig, Madagascar vanilla, huckleberry, green tea, etc.

I have no idea where else you would be able to get saffron ice cream, but this place makes INCREDIBLE treats. That saffron ice cream knocked my socks off, it was that good. Rich, creamy, and very flavorful.

Another great ice cream place in the Mission. Great attention to flavor without using too much sugar. We had the huckleberry and the brown sugar and fig flavors and they were very distinct.

Some of their flavours they make themselves, but the more simple ones they buy from Strauss. I enjoyed the ice cream, but Bi-Rite is still my favourite.
