I lost a bit of faith in humanity tonight. An frail homeless man was hovering around some patrons in the outdoor seating area. My seat faced the window to the whole incident that was to follow. An employee, the bartender, a man more than twice the size of the homeless guy confronted him about harassing the customers. The altercation went from verbal abuse to physical abuse in less than 10 seconds. From my vantage point, the homeless man did nothing to receive such punishment. The bartender obviously felt otherwise and pushed the guy so hard that he fell to the ground. He picked himself off the ground and proceeded to walk away. About 5 minutes later, the homeless man returned. The bartender sprinted outside, grabbed the man by his shirt and THREW him to the ground before striking his tough-guy fight pose. The poor man picks himself off the ground yet again, clothes torn from being man-handled, and does nothing in response. The homeless man was then gently escorted away by the Yerba Buena ground staff. I voiced my disgust over the whole situation to the manager who seemed not to care at all. The only response I could get out of him was "oh, sorry, I did not see what went down". Well, 20 customers did. And they all seemed just as disgusted as I did. Yes, the food was great, and the service was amazing. But so what? I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT. Such treatment of a fellow human being, especially one who likely has mental health issues, and IS CLEARLY DOWN ON HIS LUCK, must not be tolerated! And furthermore, the fact that the manager seemed indifferent to the issue shows me that this is not a place I want to return to. I am from out of state, and have traveled to San Francisco many times. I expect better from the people of this town. San Francisco, you were poorly represented tonight by one of your own. Sincerely disgusted

I was there with my friend yesterday We had the worst experience ever We ordered from the happy hour menu and we waited sooooo long for our drinks One table next to us came five minutes after us Our drinks came 20 minutes after we ordered, but the people next to us were already getting their food and drinks serve when we were there first. Of course those people were a bunch of white people, I didnt want to think bad, but its true THEY REALLY NICE AND SERVE THE PEOPLE BETTER IF YOU ARE WHITE We got our food 35 minutes after we ordered and the ordered was wrong. I was missing my chicken taco and it took them 45 minutes to bring it HELLLLLLOOOO 45 minutes to make a chicken taco Not only that, but I noticed another couple came to sit next to us and they got their drinks within 5 minutes (OF COURSE THEY WERE WHITE) I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN -HORRIBLE SERVICE -FOOD TAKES TOO LONG AND THE MOST CRAZY THING THEY DO NOT SERVICE EVERY ONE WITH THE SAME RESPECT AND COURTESY NO SE CÓMO PUEDEN SER TAN DÉSPOTAS Y DESCRIMINADORES CON SU PROPIA RAZA ES OVIO QUE AÚN PIENSAN QUE OTRAS RAZAS TRAERÁN MÁS BENEFICIOS $$$$$ A SU NEGOCIO QUE OTRAS PERO SE ME HACE TAN ILÓGICO QUE SIENDO LATINOS TRATEN TAN MAL A SU PROPIA RAZA. QUE VERGÜENZA LOS DUEÑOS DE ESTE LUGAR SOLO HAN DE PENSAR EN $$$$ Y NO EN UN BUEN SERVICIO AL CLIENTE PARA TENERLOS SATISFECHOS Y QUE VUELVAN A VENIR YO POR MI PARTE NUNCA REGRESARE Y LE CONTARÉ A TODOS MIS COMPAÑEROS DE TRABAJO LA EXPERIENCIA TAN FEA QUE TUVE CON UDS Y LES ASEGURO QUE PERDERÁN MUCHA CLIENTELA CON ESA HORRIBLE ACTITUD

My friend and I came in a bit late for our 8 pm resso one night. For a rainy, Sunday night, the place was pretty poppin. It was probably for this same reason that the service was just so-so. We didnt get our waters until after a while, and we kept getting wrong dishes delivered to us. To start, we ordered some house guacamole and the ceviche. We had the combo ceviche - shrimp, salmon, and tilapia. I liked that there was mango with the shrimp. It gave it a nice sweetness, but the shrimp itself was a bit tough. The salmon and tilapia were pretty good. Just be careful with the tilapia because there are serrano peppers in there and it can get really spicy. For my main, I ordered the two item combo. You get to choose from tacos, enchiladas, tamales, or flautas, and it comes with a side of rice and beans. I went with the carne asada taco and the chicken flauta. It was just alright. The beef seemed a tad overcooked, and the flauta was smothered in some green sauce so I couldnt really taste what the chicken was like. Maybe these are not their specialties. Not sure if I would be back if I were to return to SF - only because the mains werent that great and the service was kind of lacking. If youre just looking for drinks and apps, then Tropisueno might be a good option for you.

I am a vegetarian. I dont always want to eat at vegan/veg restaurants. This place had some options and the reviews seemed promising. But over all this place is bland and not worth the prices. 8$ guacamole and stale chips. Over all--Nothing special. The margaritas were medium strong and pretty good. Not too sweet, but not big on flavor. They went down nicely and seem to not be from a mix. The plantains were good and were the best thing we ordered. They are the soft sweet kind versus the crispy cakes I have had other places. The enchiladas were bland and boring. The veggies inside were good and the sauce we decent. Just nothing wow or worth 16$. Plus they arent real enchiladas, more like a wet burrito. The black beans are just that. The tortillas werent noteworthy--on the thick, dense side of tortillas. The rice was good. The three salsas were good, but leaned more toward Tostitos salsa and less fresh authentic salsa. The red salsa was the best. Green was good, but like the yellow it left me feeling disappointed. I bet the meat stuff here is good. But as a vegetarian, skip it!

No specific complaints here, but I must say that I have had better Mexican food than here… When visiting San Francisco, I was staying in the Union Square area, and thanks to many online reviews, Tropisueño was the choice! Not only was this a good choice, but I would go here again. Even though its not directly on the menu, for dinner, I just had a cheese quesadilla as my meal. It was good and definitely unique. The cheese had an interesting taste (in a good way) and the flavor of the whole quesadilla was good. Even though we had to wait for a table, the wait wasnt too long and we were provided with chips, salsa, and water while we waited. The server we had was nice and knowledgable. The food came out seemingly quickly for the restaurant being completely full. If anyone from Tropisueño is reading this, allow me to make reservations on OpenTable! I think it would make the entire system smoother and faster.
