I am new to sacramento so just went to try out the buffet, the food is average not good ....mostly because they use dhaba style of cooking. The bhajjis were deep deep fried, the chicken curry and other non-veg dishes had lots of grease and were not enhancing the flavour of the chicken or goat in it. The overuse of masalas killed all flavor of the dishes. I was disappointed. The sweets were gulab jamun ( I know a sweet is supposed to taste ...what sweet? right...but what about something being too much sweet )and carrot halwa( excellent with the aroma of ghee) The naans were good, sambar poor ( face it north -indians cannot make good sambar ..). mango ice- cream had no taste at all...terrible.Folks we know a good ice cream when we taste it. I am an Indian and we make these dishes at home so I know the exact taste of stuff. Thanks.

The food is very good. The buffet Lunch is good (11:30a - 2:30p) and Dinner starts at 5pm each day. The Dinner buffet is only Fri, Sat & Sun (5p to 9:30). <-> They close each day from 3pm to 5pm <-> Note to the Workers & Owner: 1). If you guys are going to close at 3p then shut the sign off at 2:30p and be nice about turning away people for lunch. Most think if you close at 3pm that they have time to eat over the next 30 mins or so. 2). Be friendly and helpful to all customers not all know your food or understand what its about. >> This post updated and edited on 12/30/16 I still recommended and support this restaurant. (Some of the food is a bit hot for those that dont like hot food)

I came here to order some chicken samosas which were excellent :) . I figured these were so good I would come back for lunch buffet . I love Indian food ! But sadly I brought my fiancé and daughter with me , and none of us could eat the food ....WAY TO HOT and I go out and eat Indian at least 5 times a month . But this resturant I can never go back , the stomach pains from food being to spicy was to much . My daughter actually got sick in their bathroom :/ too bad they didnt offer dishes that are less spicy . But theres 3 Indian restuarnts I can eat that are not spicy thank goodness :) The flavor was decent but so spicy it covered all flavors .

I can’t give a review on the food; but, I can rate it poor on rudeness. If they are going to be closed at 3:00; they should lock the doors at 2:45. Instead, we entered and were curtly told we could not be seated because they were closing in 10 minutes. There were people eating who clearly were going to take more than 10 minutes to finish. The buffet was still out and filled. We drove all the way out Natomas from South of Sacramento. Very disappointed in our reception....

It was the worst experience I ever had in my life. I was overcharged for my Tandoori chicken and when I complained, the manager said "The prices on the menu card are five years old and no one here has the time to change the prices. What difference does it make if you pay $2 dollars over for people like you." WOW!!! Really!!! I will advise everyone to make sure that they have not charged you extra. I would never go back again to waste my hard earned money.

I hope you will do me the favor of making sure that everyone involved with our event knows how pleased we were. Over the last 5 years, I have seen a lot of establishments rise and fall in this valley, but India Oven Indian Restaurant Sacramento, just seems to get better and better. I know that hasn’t happened without a great deal of effort and I am particularly happy for you. You have been a good friend for a long time.

No thrills Indian Food here. I usually dont eat East Indian Food but the food is below average mostly sauce dishes. I didnt see any fish. Lamb curry is more bones than meet. Becareful you dont bite too hard and chip a tooth. For $12 it fills your stomach for several hours. I hope I dont get a stomach ache like one of the reviewers here. I am sure there are better Indian restaurants in the Sacramento area.

I love Indian food but not Indian people. This is the worst place in the world! No customer service and rude employees. I will never go back there again and would advise no one to this place. They treated us like criminals, my half black ten year old son was treated like he was unwanted, THEY wouldnt even refill his drink and we paid 60 dollars for this service.

Ive tried a lot of Indian cuisine in my lifetime , but indian oven by a far is the best I ever have taste it. There goat masala, and lamb are very tasty, and melt in your mouth with authentic spices flavoring. You have to try there fish it is the best. Love this place! Every chance me and my wife get we are there. Great food, great service, and a great experience.

Horrible!! Went on mothers day and all the food was stale and my whole family ended up getting stomach infection. We have had this experience before and thought maybe it is just one time but again and again makes us feel like they dont care and they have increased their prices too. We paid $15.99 each for stale and very bad food. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN.

nice food not so spicy and of course ! the food in every Indian restaurant in USA is not very authentic but it was really nice. but the fry items did not taste so good may be the oil used was bit old. other than that the food was very nice with lots of items in the buffet. costs about 16 USD with taxes ( hope I am not wrong ;) ) more of chicken Dishes.

My flight from the airport nearby was delayed so I decided to try out India Oven. I had the chicken korma, some rice and a plain naan. Everything came out quickly and was delicious! The naan was obviously just baked and was great when dipped in the korma. The staff was very nice and attentive, my water glass was never empty. Id go back here anytime.
