First of all, I would like to say that the food was AMAZING!!! Kudos to the chef and his staff. I am a local resident and dine in Pt. Reyes Station at least once a week. The food alone deserves 5 stars. We had wine and the Cardoon/Fontina/Parmesan dish for starters and it was incredible. I had the duck confit salad for dinner and my sister had Orcchiette pasta/sausage and that too was very nice! For dessert, we had the flourless cake, very yummy indeed. The service, however, was lacking. We had reservations at 5pm but had to work hard to get acknowledged by the hostess. We were the second party to be seated after the restaurant opened. Our server (Luis) was unwelcoming and didnt have much time to wait on our table, you could only get a few words in before he was gone. The restaurant was not full. I flagged down the manager and she took our order. Empty plates took most of the space on our table and I couldnt get anyone to clear it. I finally had to take our appetizer plate to our hostess so that she could find someone to start clearing our table. Our server finally made an appearance and was even more unfriendly than before. I asked if everything was all right with him and he replied, "I have been working all day and Im very tired". That would explain it. Im debating whether to return, perhaps Ill try lunch time when the servers arent as tired. Im lucky there are a few more restaurants (i.e. Station House, Gather, Saltwater and Marin Sun Farms) in the Pt. Reyes area who know me by name and have always provided me with excellent service.

Stellina bears the burden of being both the only worthy culinary destination in Pt. Reyes, and living up to the ideals of West Marins local, sustainable economy. Having come in on a blustery December day, we were both pleased with the warm service and the ample choices on menu. Imaginative soups, organic and locally grown ingredients for their salads, and creative starters started our lunch properly. Having choices of hearty, thin crust pizzas or beef/seafood stews made a trip to Pt. Reyes on a cold Winters day worth it. Since Stellina also serves dinner, we cannot give it five stars without a full bar. However, you will find the wine list varied and most satisfactory. The food and the flavors were consistently excellent and representative of the best of West Marin County. Stellina does not compromise its principles for the sake of expediency. It provides local, organic ingredients and helps sustain its local economy. Yes, you may wait arriving for a late lunch at Stellina. Understand that the wait will be worth it to you and this vibrant community.

In the past, we have avoided this place thinking it is a little too upscale with limited vegetarian options. It was just about the only place open on a Tuesday night, so we gave it a try. Turns out we were wrong. Like many of the restaurants in the area, its fairly casual and a bit pricy, but not outrageous. The service was friendly and efficient. The arugula pesto pizza was awesome, very flavorful with a nice chewy crust. The penne with cannellini beans and braised greens was a surprise vegetarian option. It was nice to see some plant protein not drowned in cheese (though the cheesy pizza was great!). The roasted brussels sprouts were good, but couldnt compare to the other dishes. The coffee crunch cake was a lovely finish to the meal. It seems to be a twist on tiramisu. They seem to have some descent beer and wine options, but we didnt get to them. Maybe next time.

Rich, satisfying food that is mostly well executed. Small draft beer list, but more pronounced wine selection. We ordered braised chicken, rack of lamb and a nectarines ricotta salad. The lamb was just slightly undercooked, though it seemed like a popular dish (5 out of 8 people around us ordered it). The braised chicken was beyond fall-of-the-bone tender, and was as savory as could be. The salad was good, but it wasnt anything special. Beyond the slightly undercooked lamb, the biggest issue was salt. The food was very salty, and that made getting through a whole dish more challenging than expected. Thank goodness for beer.

The food and service was excellent. Walked in at around 8:00 PM and it was very busy, but we got a table right away. Ordered the braised Petaluma Chicken and a Garganelli pasta dish with a cream sauce. Both were spectacular. Oyster appetizer and a County Line salad. Those were great also. Dessert was the flourless chocolate cake. Wow, was that amazing! Best I have ever had, hands down. Solid selection of wines and a nice menu overall. Service was great. Our server, Sierra did a great job. Daily menu varies a bit from the menu on the web site so expect to see some different dishes when you get there. Highly recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed a pleasant, late night dinner at Osteria Stellina while on a road trip from Santa Rosa to Santa Monica. Its an excellent, albeit expensive option in Point Reyes right off of Pacific Coast Highway. Osteria Stellina is a beautiful fine dining restaurant in Point Reyes that serves Italian cuisine. The staff was extremely hospitable and even mapped out directions for us to our hostel on a napkin. We ate the Brickmaiden sourdough & house made focaccia with California olive oil and Garganelli alla vodka: homemade fennel sausage, parsley, Straus cream & Parmigiano Reggiano. Both were delicious dishes.

Fabulous dining experience! Contrary to other reviews, we walked up at 5:45pm and were seated immediately! Service was most attentive. Each course was impeccably prepared with the freshness and subtleties of seasonings really complementing each dish. We started with an amazing warm Frisbee salad with a red wine poached egg, followed by Spaghetti Nero with delicately tasty local manilla clams, prepared with extra virgin olive oil.and parsley. Great value!

DOnt know why this restaurant gets such high reviews. The food was lackluster and the wine list, with grudging tastes from our waiter, was a match to the food. The pizza was good. How hard is that? But the lamb was tasteless. The bread was ok. The olive oil blaah. Great to say one provides local ingredients, but not so impressive when they turn out to be mediocre. The Tomatoes in the caprese salad were local and without flavor. I would not bother to go again.

Our Hispanic waiter was terrible. All he did was have his back to us the entire meal and not ONCE did he check to see how our meal was...which was great! However the bus gal was astute and on top of it. She deserves a waiting position. Our waiter talked to the kitchen staff the entire time. I also noticed he NEVER checked on any other table once he presented their food. We just had lunch and their wine list was VERY IMPRESSIVE AND OVER PRICED!

This restaurant is phenomenal! My fiancé had our first meal here as an engaged couple back in December 2014, and it fabulous! The service is impressive, we love the atmosphere, and the food is indescribably wonderful! We just went back to celebrate our 4year anniversary this week and were blown away again! The king salmon was delicious, and their panacotta never disappoints! Thank you Stellina!!!

I had the wonderful pleasure to experience dining at Osteria Stellina over the past weekend. This little gem located in the heart of downtown Point Reyes is an absolute must to try. The food was outstanding! "Chef Buddha" uses all organic and locally grown produce and definitely knows what he is doing. If you are looking for a romantic dinner or a fun evening with friends this is the spot!
