The food was pretty good, but the service was SO ghastly that it ruined a special meal. It was not crowded when we were there, yet the several waiters didnt seem to care about service. The same guy who took drink orders delivered them and gave them to the wrong people. No big deal, but a sign of what was to come. After the first course, the waiter asked if we wanted our dirty dishes replaced with clean ones. Ya think? Just DO it! When the meals were delivered, again, the person who took the order gave them to the wrong people. Mind you, only two of us there. The waiter suggested we get hot sauce on the side: never brought it. When we were done our meal, they left several dirty dishes on the table. Finally cleared them away but left the condiments for the bread. Never checked to see how we were doing at all. Ordered dessert which was horrible and they forget the Chai Tea. When we asked, they brought a horrid watery tea with no flavor. We immediately told them it was not drinkable. No apologies, no reduction from the bill. The restaurant was also cold. The waiters had little interest in good service. Lovely ambiance really destroyed by apathetic and disinterested staff. Would NEVER go back again. Too many places need business. Will patronize those who care about pleasing customers.

This is an honest true experience, I with my close friend had today [26th Sept,08]. I with my one friend went to this place to celebrate a fine project success. We reached there at 8:50 pm and placed our order at 9:00 pm, after which a long torture experience started. Till the time of taking order staff present themselves as a nice soul. After waiting for 45 min we told waiter that it has been a while, can you let us know the status of our order. He said fine. After waiting another 15 min we decided to cancel our order and decided to pay for our order anyway since we were fed up. When we called the waiter, he told that "Sir, Kitchen is busy, what can we do?" -- Is this what you can expect from a waiter after waiting for an hour and still not being served. After that we came out after paying our bill for un-served food with our day spoiled, will advise to anyone to think 10000 times before visiting the place, after all you dont want to spoil your nice day.

tl;dr: good food, pricey(10-20 per person) but worth it for me. the place was great! this was the second place i had gone to try indian food which persuaded me to begin loving it. this also is one of the preferred places to go for my Indian friends which says a lot. i recommend it is best to go early in the day (around 12) because they have a buffet which cost us around 11 dollars per person which i thought was a great deal! Some problems of this place is the cost. nearly everytime i have gone it was about $20 per person but i believe it was mostly because we kept on ordering naan(indian tortillas). but even aside from that, this place is rather pricey but to me, well worth it.

These people are incredibly nice. The food is superior. The service is superior. Theyve gone out of their way time after time to accommodate us, whether its staying open a little late or making something that isnt on their menu special. This restaurant represents the very best of what is great about India ... the tastiness, freshness and healthfulness of the food and the friendliness, wonderfulness and generosity of the amazing people. This is the best Indian food in Pasadena and probably the best Indian food in Los Angeles. I cant imagine what these other reviewers are thinking. This dining experience is HIGHLY recommended. 5 Stars. Excellent +

We are a family of four with two young girls who hadnt eaten Indian before. We ordered a wide variety of dishes as sweet and mild, and thats precisely what we got. The flavors of the butter chicken, lamb curry, mattar paneer, and other dishes were still quite wonderful even with the heat reduced. Our kids had a marvelous time, enjoyed Indian for the first time, and we even were treated to a dessert on the house afterwards. Highly recommended for families getting into Indian food. Looking forward to trying higher heat settings next time.

New Delhi Palace is a local Indian restaurant with an authentic menu for the mainstream palate. The interior is clean is subtly well-placed. Their waiting service is passively good. I visited for their lunch buffet and found it to be of great value considering the taste and food quality, although the options are limited. I had chicken curry, tikka masala, chickpeas, and mango lassi, with salad, basmati rice, and fresh garlic naan bread, among other items. Definitely worth a local stop for a craving for traditional Indian food.

This is one of the worst Indian restaurant. Customer service is very poor and arrogant. We dealt with almost 4 waiters to get food. We ordered chicken Biriyani, chicken curry., Naan and aloo paratha. Naan and paratha was good. We ordered spicy curry and we got a sweet one. They should know that Indian chicken curry is not made with tomato sauce. Biriyani was also not spicy. Even they didnt fry the cashew in it properly. More than food the arrogance of the waiters irritated me.

I ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala and Garlic Naan bread. Let me say that everything was fresh and the portions were excellent. I finished off the night by ordering the Pistachio Kulfi and they gave me Gulab Jamun (indian donuts) on the house! Service was quick and prompt. They kept my water filled. Its kind of sad to see this place so empty during dinner time! Tip: Its on the upper level of the plaza and theres parking around the back accessible from S Mentor Ave.

Having just come from India, the food here (lunch buffet) was bland, tasteless and heavily watered down. At least 24%-30% extra water was added to all sauces. The paneer dish offering was actually tofu (not listed as such at the buffet table). Strong mens cologne emerging from BOH. Potatoes were half cooked in the veggy dish. If you know true Indian food, keep away, especially at lunch. Very disappointing meal. Thank God they at least had Kingfisher Beer.

Atmosphere is superb and waiters are all excellent. Very helpful and attentive. My Matter Paneer was very bland. Its in my top three fav Indian dishes and I order it often, so I know that it tastes much better than what was offered here. My tomato soup was very spicy which I didnt expect and also bland. Tomato and salt were the only flavors going on. I really wanted to like this restaurant because I love Indian food, but I didnt.

HOLY COW! I absolutely love this place!!! I havent been here for the longest time ever, but from what I recall, this place really does serve delicious dishes. I really could care less if the customer service isnt all that great. Man, if i knew how to cook like that, Id be obnoxiously pompous too. Their website doesnt mention this, but I wonder if their food is halal too. mmmm even better.
