Ive been to Magnolia House when it was just a bar, a good bar at that. Now its become a place where you can dine. They take no reservations so make sure to get their before rush hour. We got a nice table outside on the patio and on warm night out it was actually a really nice. If you love tapas, this is the place to be! We shared about 5 plates and we were stuff! Brussel Sprout with a fried oozing egg on top was my fave. The squash with pomegranate was another fave, a wonderful surprise because I typically dont like squash but the seasoning really made it taste less squashy! The mushroom flat bread was also pretty darn delish- I dont know what they did but it was perfectly crunched with flavors! Dessert: The bread pudding..SO perfectly warm and the right amount of pillow soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The birthday girl said " now thisss is a bread pudding" ! good job mag house!

If I could give this place ten stars I would. Rallied a group of friends to come out and enjoy the grand opening tonight... And boy are we happy that we did! First off, the atmosphere is awesome. This place is inside a craftsman bungalow (built in 1912) that has been completely renovated. Theres great lighting, good music, fresh air... The perfect place for a romantic date or a chill evening with your friends. If youre into craft cocktails, look no further!! Seriously. Every person in our group had an exceptional drink. I ordered the Mendocino Sour, it was awesome. Others in our group had the Copper Heart and The Lumberjacks Breakfast - also delicious. As for food... we ordered the chicken wings, the ahi sashimi and the king crab mac n cheese. It was all fricken awesome. Cannot wait to return!

Passed by this place on a Thursday night as the last stop in a bar run. I did not try to food so I can only comment on the ambiance and the spot. There were only 4 other groups at the bar, so there was plentiful seating at the sacrifice of a near dead bar experience. From the seating arrangements, the ideal group to take here would be about 2 to 4 but no more than that. Its a small spot, but the decor was contemporary with comfy couches. Because of the small area, the tables and chairs were pushed together tightly, so this place would probably not fare too well on heavy crowd nights. Still a pleasant experience. Id come back.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon with our neighbors who had just been the previous day & were raving about Magnolia House so we tried it & it was MAGNIFICENT!! It was like sitting in a backyard patio of a well appointed gorgeous craftsman home... open inviting & relaxed (it was Sunday about 2pm). And the cocktails were truly QUALITY ... my favorites are the Craftsman Sour & Roger That (made with fresh carrot juice) WOW !! I am writing this now b/c Im excited to return tonight ... Friday night Date Night w-another couple for a few hours and we live in Covina & La Verne (but) have nothing like Magnolia House where we live.

Nice ambiance and a fancy bar. I wanted a bloody mary on a wednesday evening and they said its only available on the weekend. Boo. So i asked for a michelada, and the bar doesnt make it. Double boo! So i ask the waitress for a savory drink she recommended me the Smoke Oil Salt. Drink was good but it was still a sweet drink. This bar makes some fancy foo foo cocktails but i dont think its unreasonable to make a bloody mary or michelada in Socal. Btw what happen to the big beautiful magnolia tree in the middle of the bar?

Came here for a friends birthday party for a Sunday brunch. We were in a larger group so we had to sit in 2 adjoining tables, management is pretty strict about combining tables and/or adding chairs which is understandable. We wouldnt want the fire marshal to come shut things down or anything. Food was pretty good, everything is a la carte. The fries were really good. Parking: Park where Ross is and walk over, the first 90 minutes or so are free.

I have only been once since the remodel, but it seemed dowdy and the pesto/veggie omelet was the worst breakfast food Ive had. The pesto was sweet and added inside the egg as well as used as a garnish. The combo didnt work for me. The eggs were very hard, a bit of a brick, with very little cheese. I miss the quirky lounge of yore, with the giant tree in the courtyard. It seems a lot of people like this place, so maybe I should try again.

If you like amazing ambiance and great food, get to Magnolia House immediately, if not sooner. Throw a dart at their menu; you cannot go wrong with anything (all tapas-style). Their craft cocktails are excellent, but make sure you like absinthe before you order something with absinthe. (I am the master of the obvious.) To top it all off, their service is impeccable. Deserves five and a half stars.

Officially....this is my favorite bar/restaurant in all of Pasadena. Cocktails are to die for! Monday-Thursday they have specials. Tuesdays are my favorite, an old fashioned and a bacon cheeseburger for $15!!!! You absolutely can not beat it! Especially when each one of those is $11-$13 each. Go!!!! You wont regret it!!!!!!

Magnolia House is a revamp of my one of my favorite bars in Pasadena; they made it better. Theres more indoor seating and it now opens up into the sidewalk. Service is great here. Dont expect to be seated right away for dining because its more popular now. The bar is still available for direct service.

The place is fantastic. I was visiting from SF and I was thoroughly impressed with the food, drinks, decor and overall ambiance. I highly recommend Magnolia House if you are in the Pasadena area. A lot of good looking smart women hang out there so wear a new clean shirt and bring your "A" game. Ciao

Loud. There is no longer a tree there as they show in their picture. Terrible customer relations. I had an issue I discussed with the manager and she basically said she didnt care. I wont be back. I like to patronize places that value their customers.

I had my first date with my boyfriend here, so I have an obvious soft spot for Magnolia House. They have a decent happy hour, the patio and bar areas are quite nice, and there is plenty of street parking. I would like to have dinner here some night soon.

Came here on a Wednesday night for a drink. The place is cozy, nicely decorated and clean. Seating was available indoors and on their half-outdoor patio. Very friendly service and fantastic cocktails. Will be back soon!

Great food, great service. The light is a bit too dim and the armchairs may be a bit uncomfortable for lounging, but overall a great experience.
