We came on a Sunday so perhaps we shouldve anticipated some subpar service. That being said we waited about 10 minutes after being seated to see the waiter (there seemed to be only one on staff) and he took our order and didnt really appear again. I had the chicken omelette with a side of brioche. The brioche tasted like a dinner roll with a slightly fluffier texture in the shape of a cupcake. Ive had better brioche from the bread aisle of a grocery store to be quite frank. The chicken omelette was very bland. I cant really say more than that. The chicken was definitely cooked properly and it looked nice but I dont think it was seasoned at all before being wrapped in the omelette. Some people prefer that so no big deal; I couldve made it work with some salsa or something but I never saw the waiter again and the manager didnt come until we were ready for the check. The accompanying potatoes were also bland. My friend had the corned beef hash with a scone instead. Both were better. The employees were very nice and nothing was terrible but Id never voluntarily eat here again.

Went here on Friday afternoon. Unlike the other french restaurants I have visited, this was more like a typical italian restaurant ambience. CHOUX DE BRUXELLES -- brussell sprouts deep fried. Unhealthy recipe made from a very healthy vegetable. Tasted ok. It was weird because I never ate brussel sprouts like this. SALADE BETTRAVES -- salad with beets, arugula, goat cheese. Should not have ordered this because I am lactose intolerant and created problem afterwards. Beignets took more than 15 min. The beignets were shaped like rectangular instead of spherical (the ones i had in other french restaurants) with lot of flour on top. Good for 2. The taste was ok.

Our first time here, on a Saturday, for brunch. Weve been to Joanies a few doors down a few times but Joanies is always packed on weekends so we decided to give Brioche a try. We were quickly seated. A plus. We ordered oatmeal rolled French toasts and grilled chicken omelette. Both were great. French toasts were above average, but the chicken omelette was really good, nice choice of ingredients and flavor, with great seasoning. The pricing is appealing in the area. We spent $30 for two, including tips.

Outstanding mussels and salad with frisee, egg & lardons. Cassoulet that is a unique interpretation (not in a good way) of the classic dish. Simple, but reasonable, wine list. Cafe decor that is not quite France. Friendly and courteous service that is sometimes a little slow. Go for a relaxed time in a simple bistro but do not expect haute cuisine.

Nettes franzöisch angehauchtes Restaurant. Waren dort zum Frühstück am Sonntag morgen, wenn vor der Tür Wochenmarkt ist. Essen war gut, Preise auch eher französisch.

The staff was friendly and polite, and very quick. I loved the look of the place right away. The food was incredibly tasty (I had a grilled chicken omelet with roasted peppers, avocado and habanero sour cream) and not too expensive. It was also not too loud, so very easy to have a nice brunch with friends. I will definitely be coming back!

Solid food and decent service. We rented out the entire restaurant for a large group dinner so our experience probably wasnt wholly representative of what you can normally expect. Based off that experience, Id be fine with coming back for a normal brunch/dinner sometime in the future but I wouldnt go out of my way to do so.

Terrible service. Had to wait 10 minutes for a menu (AFTER asking for one), and they got my order wrong - a scone instead of a croissant. After 20 minutes and two reminders I finally got the right order. At least they comped the croissant (Im assuming that was on purpose.) And no, they werent slammed.

A solid brunch option, though nothing too special. The restaurant itself is nice, and its in a lovely location in Palo Alto. The beignets were delightful -- though, arent they always? Can be a bit slow service, and, of course, theres a pretty bad wait to get in on weekends.

Fantastic brunch! I love coming here on lazy Saturdays. Their scrambles are great. They also make a mean croque monsieur and you really have to order their signature brioche rolls. If you come late on Saturday, be prepared to wait for a table...

Stumbled upon this French style cafe yesterday night and was pleasantly surprised. They had non-traditional but very good French style plates and were very reasonable priced. Very good customer service as well. Will definitely come back.

Solid brunch - had pancakes with eggs and habanero sausage - great cranberry-coconut scone. Pretty standard fare, sub-par service, nice location. Wish there was some air conditioning. Very reasonable prices.

Really great food and affordable given the quality. Service was slow but I didnt mind. Try the asparagus appetizer, its delicious. I had the salmon which was great especially with the hazelnut on top.

this gem of a restaurant is one of our go-tos for Breakfast or brunch. Tasty food and great service. The kids adore the beignets. Try the many creative egg dishes and Croque Monsieur. Yum.

Cafe Brioche is the second best brunch place on that block of California Ave. The food here is good but not great. If Pastis is open, youre better off going there for brunch.

Cant say that I will ever return. New owners and surly staff made for an over all awful experience. Take a pass, its so far from what it used to be. Sad.

Salads were fine, although pears werent ripe. Cassoulet somewhat reminiscent of Campbells Pork and Beans. Portobello mushroom dish was bizarre.

Great breakfast place. Their coconut raisin french toast special was killer. And the place wasnt too crowded either for a Saturday morning.

Breakfast is good enough, but the bloody Marys are worth avoiding. Food portions are European sized, not American sized.
