We were seated at a table near the bar but not actually at the bar, and the bartender was our waitress. Unfortunately, they didnt have the drink choices that I or my fiancee wanted, but thats fine, Im not a picky drinker, so I just got some water and she got a different wine. After we placed our orders, that was the last time we saw the waitress...so I never got a refill and my fiancee never got the chance to get water of her own or another drink. Basically, the service was awful. The food itself was alright. We werent crazy about the fondue but the ravioli was very good. Luckily, the manager came over to our table to run my card after we finally got the bill (which took a long time, as the wait staff service was poor) and we explained the poor service to him. He was nice and understanding, apologetic, and he offered to take off our appetizer and drink. I really appreciate when management makes an effort like that; Im not looking for a free meal, I just like to have good service at a restaurant.

My friend and I had lunch today around 2 pm at the Left Bank. The service from our assigned waitress was very poor. A waiter named Jorden from a different section took our drink orders and stated he informed our waitress the order was taken. He later returned to inquire if our food order was taken. It was not. He took the order and informed us it was submitted and he informed our waitress. Later, he returned again and stated our waitress was informed and lunch should be served soon. Finally, our salad was delivered, still no contact with our waitress. We did not interact with her until we were nearly finished with our meal. Very disappointed and most likely will not be returning any time soon. I have eaten at this restaurant in the past and had no complaints. However, the restaurant is only as good as its most recent service and food, in our opinion it has gone down hill. At least Jorden was on his game.

I came here once when I had a horrible fever for French Onion soup, and it was delicious. Not overly salty and with the standard melted cheese and croute on top. Five stars. Another time we dined there and ordered the cheese fondue, several fish and seafood dishes, a potato tart (pizza), salads, and the pork loin. The dishes were the standard French fare, but quite costly compared to places you would find in San Francisco. I guess we were paying for the ambiance, which I have no complaints about. The wine and cocktail list was excellent, and service was wonderful. We did not feel rushed, and service was impeccable.

Today, I found a piece of metal in my food. It was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long. It was explained to me that it came from a protective metal glove that the cooks use when they cook or slice bread. I could have ingested this piece of metal. I am not too sure that there werent any others that I missed and did ingest. I am a bit worried about my health and am extremely disappointed in Left Bank. Things happen, but you dont expect to find a piece of metal that might end your life when you go out to eat.

Well I have been to restaurants in France and I have been to many French restaurants in America but the food here is more want to be French food than real French food. I mean, which French restaurant serves burgers?! Also, shrimps covered sauces but the shrimps are not pealed. How are you supposed to get the shell off? The flavors are not on point. Their wine is way overpriced and their service doesnt exist. The only positive thing here is the atmosphere. A real disappointment.

Finding traditional French food that actually impresses my French husband can be quite the task, but he was blown away with the experience at Left Bank. Not only did the food take him straight back home, but the environment is upscale without being too snobby and the staff is very pleasant. My company also hosted a 40+ seat banquet in the party room and it was fantastic. I would more than recommend the Left Bank to anyone looking for a great experience on Santana Row.

I really like this place. Their French food is much more authentic than most. Service leaves a little to be desired, and I say that after several years of coming here. They have some decent French wines at reasonable prices. I always remember the fondues as a reason to go back...both cheese and chocolate fondues are available. Eating in the bar at a table is almost as good as the restaurant, except the service is always so slow. Overall, a nice place to take a date.

The waiter offerred sparkling water after we sat down outside. Later, we discovered that the sparkling water is not complimentary--it is $7.75/bottle. What a scam! The seared-ahi nicoise that I had for an entree was not fresh at all. The ingredients were sub-par, and the ahi appeared to have been cooked much earlier and then refrigerated. The ambiance is attractive, but the food and service are not. Avoid!

Great food, great ambiance, average service. Ive been here many times since it opened in Santana Row. Comfortable place to hang, especially during the mid afternoon on the outside patio, to grab a few small plates, have drinks, and people watch. Everything on the menu is rustic and delicious (French cuisine), I especially like the charcuterie. Service is hit and miss. But still will come back on occasion.

Overpriced for the service and seating we had. We reserved a table and got put right next to the hot kitchen. My husband spent half of our dinner fanning me because I was sweating so much it was dripping down my back- and that was after we requested to turn the a/c up a bit. Our waiter spilled our $90 wine on the tablecloth the time he served it to us and never came back to re-fill our glasses. Food was OK.

I was very disappointed about Left Bank in Santana Row. I am from France and I thought I could eat a dish that I always order when I come across a real French Restaurant: Bouillabaisse, it was not what I expected but I paid for a Bouillabaisse, pricey. I would like to inform the owner of the Left Bank that he should review Bouillabaisse recipe, before he will call it as such.

“Great service and excellent food” We went to La Casona to celebrate our anniversary and can say that every employee provided courteous and pleasant service from the first contact to the last. Every staff member went out of their way to make our experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. It was a chilly evening so they brought us each a blanket shawl, the chef...

I went here for a Birthday dinner about a year ago and the staff was super snooty. We were a table of 8 so maybe that annoyed the waitress but she was really obvious about not wanting to come over to our table. I still give it 2 stars because the food was good (not great but good) it also gets really loud. The prices are high but thats what you get on the Row.
