Great location, however this one feature wasnt enough to save it from the countless things I found wrong with this place. Ill try to keep this short. There were four us going out to celerbrate a birthday on a Saturday night. Instead of opting to go to downtown Ventura we ended up in this dive, and yes its as dive as dive bars can get. Front security asked us "are you guys going to eat?", I found that to be an odd question until I realized they had no servers. I figures this was a minor inconvenience Im sure theyll find someone to take our order. After deciding to sit outside to soak in the view and avoid being indoors where a crumby local duo were playing guitar (definitely needed more practice) we waited. Guess what, we waited some more. We spent over half an hour and it wasnt even a full house. We finally had to find someone that would take our order. I think we would have been better off pounding drinks than consuming what we had ordered. This place can be great for people to drown their sorrows in but I dont see it as a place of celebration. Way to go "lookout bar and grill" for a less than mediocre performance.

First and last time going to this place. The only great thing about this was the view. Took us 30 min to get a menu another hour to get our food. I ordered the grilled salmon, completely raw took it back, the waitress was unapologetic, so unprofessional just came off as rude. Second try, the cook look as if he/she tried to make an attemp as if they knew how to cook, but still the salmon was raw in the middle. I tried some of my husbands fish and chips...so bland, no flavor what so ever. Oh wait the fries where decent. The bathroom smelled disgusting, it was so hot it was suffocating. If youre a local Im sure service is great and you might get your food in a decent amount of time and who knows it might be cooked right. You think bar and grill and it will be great, not this one guys, at least not for us. Total time spent there a little over 2 hours.

This place was horrible. I will never go here, nor will I recommend it to anyone else. I am handicap and in a wheelchair and I thought this place looked nice to eat with my family. We got there and there was NO HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY. The only way to get upstairs is to actually take stairs and I cant walk. Ironically, they have handicap parking in the parking lot. I dont even know how they actually get away with this legally. On top of that, when my brother went upstairs to ask them if there was an elevator or something to get me upstairs, the hostess was extremely rude to him. They are basically screaming NO HANDICAP PEOPLE HERE. On that principal alone, I wouldnt go there. A local outside even told us that the food really wasnt that great and suggested Quincy Street Restaurant down the street. It was great.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon before memorial day with friends and family of 8. Place was packed with incredible live singer who sings non stop - amazing! He definitely kept that place lively. Ordered clam chowder, they were out of sourdough bowl. First taste was good but after that unbearable because it was overly salty, could not consume further. Calamari was not crunchy and drenched in grease. Tuna melt was good but fries again drenched in grease. Come here for the view and live music, skip the food is you dont like salty and greasy stuff. Realized after the fact that the server charged us for toast even though she said shell give them to us as they were out of sourdough bowl... Prices are quite steep for mediocre food!

Our server (older lady, short blonde hair) took over 30 minutes to come take our order, she hardly said one word to us, and really ruined our experience here. Not only was the (lack of) service embarrassing, but the food was mediocre at best. My girlfriend and I ordered the calamari as an appetizer (and another 30 minutes later) it arrived and was a basket of maybe 10-12 small pieces. For $12 it was a joke. The clam chowder was watery, the trip tip sandwich was ok, but getting our check was another nightmare. People were walking in and we told them not to waste their time or money. Hopefully management can fix these re-occuring issues because the restaurant is an outstanding location.

Look.. The place has a beautiful view of the harbor and Im truly never disappointed with that. I have returned quite a few times for the Lookout burger which is consistently delicious.. However, the only other thing that is consistent about this place is the terrible service. Dont get me wrong..I always try to give the servers the benefit of the doubt but every time I go there, even if Im by myself and theres barely anyone in the restaurant, the service takes forever. So to sum things up, I do recommend this place if you want to enjoy the views and have a lot of time to kill. The food is good but definitely dont go there on an already empty stomach.

Im going to call this one a hidden gem and over star it a bit just because it was such a pleasant surprise. We wandered in by chance because we were in the area and the place we were looking for didnt have a TV when we wanted to watch a baseball game. The hard working waitress did a great job of making sure that we had everything we needed including an excellent Cosmo. I never expect a great martini in a place that looks like it mostly serves beer. We ordered three meals and all had a chefs touch that put them far above what I expect in a bar. Another time we might sit out on the patio that overlooks the water. Nice experience all around!

The night aquired an all together superior quality while I was waiting for my Old Fashioned cocktail. And this aural shift is owed to the Saturday night bar tender alone. The notion may be new, that the arial substance of a bar could be altered positively even in the absence of culinary superlatives. But if you dont believe me, I challenge you to try it yourselves. Youll also find her there on Mondays, Thursday and at least another night of the week that I cant seem to remember at the moment.

Nice little bar and grill. A little shabby, but the food was good, The tuna melt on rye was perfect, the french dip had lots of meat, giod coleslaw and a large portion of crispy fries. The only drawback was the slow service from the only server there who also tended bar. She took a long break in the kitchen, leaving patrons alone at the bar, while she complained to the cooking on the kitchen. I would go back for the food and seems very friendly placd.

We absolutely love this cozy bar/pub tucked away in the beautiful Biltmore/Esplanade area. The food is always amazing, and the chef and staff are very attentive to our experience there. My husband is a vegeterian and the chef personally has made him some amazing dishes, not even on the menu! Great place to grab drinks and apps with friends!!!! The happy hour drinks and menu options are also two thumbs up!!!!
