On a road trip along I-5 and stopped in my new favorite place in Orland. Clean, cute dining area with an equally clean restroom created the ideal rest stop for our day of travel. We arrived 20 minutes before they closed, yet we were warmly greeted by our hostess/server. After being on the road for many hours, it was so nice to sit down and enjoy a fabulous meal. I opted for the Smokehouse Scramble with country potatoes and a biscuit; my daughter selected the Chicken and Dumplings. Both were so delicious and satisfying! It reminded me of a home-cooked Sunday meal at grandmas (and mine was an excellent cook). Tall glasses of cold iced tea were the perfect accompaniment to our midday meal. Service was extremely pleasant and our food arrived promptly and hot from the kitchen. The tempting dessert case beckoned and we picked up some baked goods for later. The 4th Street Cafe and Bakery is the perfect place to enjoy a warm meal, while traveling through Orland.

This cafe is tucked just one block off the main highway (Hwy 32). Service was friendly and quick. Its in an obviously old building that is clean, has high ceilings and is well lit. If youre a regular, you can bring a coffee cup and keep it on the back wall. This entitles one to half off the regular price of $1.99 per cup. We ate the breakfast and lunch meals.The meals were large, tasty and filling. Everybody in our party of 5, said the food was good. The prices seemed a little on the high side, hence the 4 stars. The bakery looked delicious, however no one was in any mood for more food. They have an extensive To-Go selection of their bakery items and soups and lunch and dinner entrees. I would definitely go there again.

I was just passing through, and someone recommended this place... good choice! Food was delicious, prices were good, and servers were friendly, attentive and prompt. Appears to be a community hub: there was no wait, but most of the tables were full of locals happily chit-chatting over lunch. Breakfast is served until closing. I had the French toast and bacon for lunch.... both excellent!

This place has a pleasant atmosphere and nice decor and CLEAN. I ordered breakfast and they cooked my eggs perfect, the biscuits are homemade delicious! It was such a great place and I almost missed it because it didnt come up with a "near me" Google search. It would have been ashamed to miss this cafe!

Inviting interior atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, and delicious breakfast and lunch selections ranging from comfort food to healthy (but really tasty) choices. Dont leave without buying one of their luscious cookies for the road. Ill be back every time I pass Orland.

The staff truly treats me like family. It is wonderful service. My experience here has been a cut above what was expected from a small town cafe. This is a real classy place and the atmosphere here is absolutely divine. I will be coming here for years to come.

Clean and bright. Nice service & delicious food. My favorite so far is the jalapeño burger. Hubby had chicken fried steak & was very happy with it. House made dressings and soups. The ham & summer squash chowder was incredible.
