The cafe had very little ambiance besides the cool license plates from different states and countries, so I was a tad skeptical when i walked in. However, as we were eating, the cafe got more and more full on a MONDAY. My family ordered a variety of egg/omelette dishes that I found to all be mediocre. However, this review is for my meal, and I ordered the crab cakes benedict with homestyle fries with onions and peppers. I absolutely loved the crab cakes. It had a lot of hollandaise sauce so it was on the heavier side but the flavors and spices were really excellent. The side of potatoes were in desperate need of spices but the texture was at least good.In fact, all the side of potatoes (fries, hasbrowns, etc) didnt have any seasoning. I found that to be odd. My family and I decided to share the creme brulee french toast. Despite being full, I could not stop eating this. It was AMAZING. Mind blowing. The brulee sauce came on the side, so you could make the french toast as sweet as you wanted. By the end of the meal, I was regretting not ordering it as my whole entree. Everyone else at the table raved about it as well, so seriously ORDER IT. I do have to say that the service was truly excellent. My family and I dont eat pork and the waitress came back to tell us that my sisters country fried steak is served with pork-based gravy, and offered her hollandaise instead. I always appreciate when people remember and are respectful of dietary restrictions. Since I dont live in Orange, it is unlikely that I would trek over here...except maybe for that french toast. But cute little gem with excellent prices and a few star menu items.

There are many things to love about this place! First of all, the staff is kind and accommodating so your experience is pleasant from the get go. Then theres good food to match! The portions are sizeable for a pretty hungry person and enough for a second meal for those of us who have eyes bigger than our stomachs. If you have a sweet tooth, then you should try the creme brulee french toast. Ive never encountered this elsewhere and it is delicious. If you want to get your protein fix, you cant go wrong with their omelettes because they are as delicious as they are big. If neither of these sound good, then dont fret! They have a sizeable variety, but make sure you look at both chalkboards for their specials. It is a locals hot spot and those are always the best to try, so go in...you wont regret it! Just be prepared for a possible wait because it is popular :)

Love this place! You have to know the ins and outs. It has always been a small place. Everything is cooked to order. Changes are not a problem. The staff has been there forever, even though owners changed a while ago. "Regulars" are no such thing. Go during the week when it is quiet. Dont expect them to rush you in and out. Sometimes it takes time. It always comes out hot and good. They try to have a varied menu. Not everything is great, Some things are out of this world ( I LOVE the Creme Brulee French Toast). Open for breakfast and lunch. Dont order something boring and expect to be blown away or have it be quick. No I am not related to the owners. I have stuck through the good and bad and the changes. I like the owners. I love that they try new things. I dont mind waiting and have told friends to suck it up. Go elsewhere if you want fast and commercial.

The Orange Cafe would have received a 5 star rating, but for their lack of ventilation & tacky decor. The food was EXCELLENT and I do mean EXCELLENT. The same with the service, you had one waitress servicing a slew of tables, but you wouldnt know unless you paid close attention. Thats because, she is so good at what she does. Moreover, I never once had to look around to call her, as it seemed as if she could read our minds if we wanted something, as she was "Johnny on the Spot". Believe me, as Im not being patronizing for the sake of it. This young woman is one of the BEST servers weve ever had the privilege of being served by, without feeling rushed or harried. She simply made the mid morning dining experience worthwhile. We would definitely refer our friends, family or encourage anyone to enjoy a scrumptious mail from Orange Cafe.

The look and feel is cheap little coffee shop, but the food! Whoever is running that kitchen knows how to cook! The quiche is the best I ever had, and all the sides - home-fries in particular - are simply marvelous. Extremely good value for the very moderate price. Other reviews have mentioned long waits and some kind of favoritism about seating. Ive never seen any of the latter, although Ive seen some larger parties who clearly called ahead have tables pushed together and waiting for them. As far as waits go, its a small place with seemingly a dedicated following. For breakfast, get there before 9am or after 10am. The 9-10 hour is their "rush", and you *will* have a significant wait. All in all, highly recommended so long as you follow their rhythm.

Was waiting for 45 min to an hour it was my first time to eat here and was waiting outside like I was instructed by the waiting chairs. I started to notice others just walk in and get seated, I did not have a big party only 3, I went inside to ask them why they were being seated before me and they replied with " we called your name" they never stepped outside by the waiting chairs to check. They tried to apologize but there was nothing they could do so I decided to leave. Was disgusted by the service will not recommend to others. They focus more on their regulars than new people. Dont come unless you are a regular or you will also be disgusted.

Food was excellent. The colours, taste and presentation were great. However I noticed it is true that the service staff seem to cater more to the "regular" clients than newcomers. During my visit, the staff gave the interior seats to previous loyal recognizable customers while new customers were suggested to sit outside. The wait was also quite long averaging 30mins to 1hr. The restaurant can sometimes be overwhelmed by the number of clients. A bigger restaurant with more staff would help. All in all, I would visit again if the wait is shortened.

Im not a regular of this place, but if I lived closer, I would be! The food is simply delicious and the service is excellent. On tip would be that if there is only two in your party and you see that the bar/counter is open, ask if you can sit there. When we arrived there were quite a few people waiting, but upon requesting the counter, we were seated immediately. The food comes out quickly and is piping hot. The waffles are to die for!

Meh. Food is average, nothing to write home about and had MUCH better service at a chain restaurant with servers who are actually in tune with their customers and surroundings. Im all about supporting the local mom and pop joints but they seemed to cater more to their "regulars" and not really care about making new customers feel welcome. One time deal, done, never need to go there again.
