LOVE this bakery!!! They have the best, hands down, chocolate croissant of any bakery in the Bay Area (I was addicted for a while - so good heated up). They also have the lovely Hazelnut Chocolate Torte, Geneve, Sicillian, Jezebel, peanut butter cookies, and the rustic baguette is seriously one of the best in town. The only problem is if you want just a slice of cake. I asked when the cake I so desired would be cut into slices and they said tomorrow. Well tomorrow it was not cut, nor the next two tomorrows. Four tomorrows after I first saw the cake they finally presented it in slices. I figured it was too stale to eat at that point and I did not buy it.

Pros: - HUGE selection (includes whole tarts and just slices) - quick service (there are several helpers behind the counter who fulfill orders) - large communal table - fun cookie flavors - cakes and tarts are beautifully presented - baguette was light and chewy with a delightfully thin crust Cons: - on the pricier side (but food quality makes up for it) - pastries are just below "amazing" Bottom line: I love pastries, but these were no where near my favorites. But, I will be revisiting to try some cookies and buy a gorgeous fruit tart as a gift. I recommend this bakery for those who love cute desserts.

Walked up here (about 20 minutes by foot from the Airbnb I’m staying at this month) to sample the baked goods. It’s a very traditional, French-style bakery with lots of pretty desserts, croissants, pies, and tarts. I had the iced oatmeal and ginger cookies, both of which were good, though the ginger one was a bit a crispy for my tastes. I’ll definitely come back sometime soon.

Here regularly. Have tried many items that are quite good but nothing that drags me out of bed w/ a craving like some other bakeries. If theres parking, Ill usually stop, if not, Ill get bread/pastries where I can park. Couple cakes weve tried were delicious and on the less-sweet side. Ham and cheese puff pastry is a family fave.

Everyones morning should start with a delicious pastry from La Farine. The hardest part is deciding which one to choose: the chocolate croissant, frangapaine, walnut & raspberry scone. Fortunate for our guests on our Rockridge Neighborhood Heritage food tour, they get a morning bun filled with sweet cinnamon-y goodness!
