First time trying oyster and this place is a great place to pop that cherry. So we ordered the sampler plate with 2 of each type. The couple next to use gave me some advice about putting on the cilantro lime juice sauce that they provide. The people shucking the oyster have great personality and will help you all through the first time experience. Chew or not to chew is the question. Honestly personal choice I did on a few and decided not to on other. Also is a small place so get there early or get ready to wait and see others eat.

This place has great outdoor seating with a nice selection of delicious and fresh oysters. The shopping market with hog island is great for dividing and conquering a large variety of very good quality food. In my opinion, more fun, tasty, and probably less expensive as having dinner at bouchon or some other fancy restaurant in area.

First time eating an oyster - it was really fresh and delicious. We just ordered 6 raw oysters and they came out quickly. There was a line to be seated but we were able to get a spot in about half of the time they originally quoted. Expensive ($20 for 6), but the quality is great.

Came here for the oyster special while on vacation and it was definitely worth the stop. I also had the clam chowder off the menu and the crab mac n cheese. Staff was great and accommodating and food was delicious. I would definitely go back if I am back in Napa.

Consistently good oyster selection, with other tasty shellfish options like shrimp and grits, chowder, and seafood stew. They also have great wines to pair with the food. Like most of the merchants at Oxbow, this place focuses on its specialty and does it well.

Ordered a plate of raw oysters and a plate of the grilled oysters. The raw were delicious but the grilled oysters were insanely good. I will dream about them for months to come. Definitely recommend! The restaurant is busy and $$$ but worth it for good food.

We are not huge fans of the service, however they make up with delicious dishes with clams and oysters. The dishes change seasonally, so it is a good idea to call in advance to ask for the description of the small menu. Great place to start the night.

They took long to bring dozen of oysters,Didnt have all oysters low customer service,only provided tiny bread,was not satisfy compare to the great service in san Francisco. SAN FRANCISCO LOCATION IS WAY BETTER.

Good oysters and solid location. It was fun to walk around the market afterwards. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy, but they got us our drinks while we waited for a table which was nice.

The same Hog island you get in Ferry building. Whats better than after winetasting and get some oysters to boost it up. You would sit outside and buy 12 fresh oysters or sit inside for more food choices.

I really love oysters, and I do love Hog Island oysters--local, organic, nutritious, delicious! The restaurant is a little too noisy, too crowded, and too slow for my tastes, so I cannot rave about it.

I have eaten Chowder in Boston, Baltimore and everywhere the say is the best, but never had as good as at Hog Island. Oysters were also great. The staff was superb. An EXCELLENT dining experience.

8 PM closing time on a Saturday? You have got to be kidding me! Never again, I know Napa closes down early, but this is a joke. Went instead to Ca Momi and had an amazing experience.

Clam chowder is unbelievable. The food is quite good overall. Id recommend sitting outside of possible. Id give it a 5 star but service was slow.

Delicious everything. No real complaints, except bring back the linguine/spaghetti in the steamers. The noodles now are too think and starchy.
