So one day out of the blue, I felt like having a buffet for lunch. I knew about this place but never given a shot. So what the hell, I asked myself, what could go wrong. So I entered the restaurant and right away you will feel the awkwardness of no one greeting or attending you. Somehow I got the cashiers attention attend he directed us to a table. Me and my sister jumped to the buffet line right away. Next thing I know, I see varieties of North Indian dishes. It was amazing how they managed to put everything, at least 4 vegetarian and 4 meat dishes with Dal and rice and dessert, all in one spot. Anyways, after passing the gazing eyes of the waiters and some unknown staff members, I returned my table with food enough for 20 kids from Sudan. Hey, I was hungry afk! Anyways, the three vegetarian dishes I chose came out to be awesome. It had a typical northeast Indian spice and spirit. The bread was fresh and soft, the green French beans were cooked perfect. The second dish was Matter Paneer (Cottage cheese cooked with green peas and creamy spicy curry). It was great. Not a single time I felt like it was too creamy or sweet. Third was dry vegetables cooked with drumsticks and tomatoes which was awesome. The drumsticks were soft so I was able to chew and suck the juice in my mouth. It was awesome. Next round, I grabbed tandoori chicken. Omg, it was great. Not too dry not too salty. It was seasoned right. The lamb curry was good but the meat was bit over cooked. Last but not the least, the dessert. OMFG! The rice pudding with caramelized carrot mush made my day! All this delicious and great food just caused about 23-25 bucks for two. Must try the lunch buffet. Really good job Himalayan!

One of the rudest restaurants with the most underwhelming Indian food for the bay area scene, there are several alternatives with pleasant-er service. a. Rudeness personified: The first time we went, the man at the counter was spectacularly rude for asking about refills in all the empty buffet bowls, we left disgusted at his shaming response. After a year almost thinkin never to go again, treated my friends there some weeks ago.. hoping a change.. oh boy was I wrong... never before had our orders been taken with such disdain - chewing gum and looking elsewher with no eye contact like they were providing alms to undeserved... b.Change the misleading name: It is not himalyan cuisine period. It is south indian cuisine serving biryani etc c. Biryani : If thats what brings one here - oh please there are tons serving fresh, hot, authentic biryanis in the bay and do give those a shot n dont settle for the stale, mediocrity. Total meh.

I have been taking out dishes from this restaurant for quite some time. The service is good and prompt/timely, never leaving me waiting to take the dish. However, a few days ago, when I ordered a dish, it tasted too salty that it left a my tongue with a saltish sensation for full half day. When I complained, and ordered a same dish again, they did not charge me money for that dish since the previous dish was salty - however, once again, the dish was salty. I wonder if they take feedback seriously enough to make changes to their dishes. I would expect that the dish tasted a little less salty the second time. It will be good if they take feedback seriously and prepare dishes better. [after another take-away meal from the place] The food continues to be salty. I guess it is best not to eat from the place. He gave excuses such as the raw ingredients arriving salty to his restaurant.

Terrific food, good service, parking was easy on a weekday evening. They have a very delicious chicken saag, which had a terrific blend of spices. I went with a party so there were a variety of different appetizers and main dishes that were also very good. Word of caution for those like me who are not big on super-spicy/hot foods, though -- I asked for the least spicy chicken saag they could put together, and apparently thats not something they can pull off -- after just a few bites of it I couldnt take any more. They have a lovely mango lassi that helps, but I dont think I can try it again which is a darn shame because the saag was otherwise REALLY REALLY GOOD. Oh well. My loss, I guess, but perhaps a little bit of their loss too. I dont think Ill be coming back.

The Vijayawada Dum biriyani is our Friday night staple. Its probably the best biriyani in south bay area. The chicken is boneless, theres very tasty gravy around it, and one biriyani order has volume close to four meals. We also ate in once and remember being generally pleased, though the food has nothing to do with Nepal or the Himalayas for the most part. Edit: the food is still good but the crowd means they are making mistakes in to go orders. Its not fun driving 20 min to pick up food and 20 min back only to realize that they put the wrong item in the bag or missed an item.

Experienced the worst feel ever. Been to numerible countries globally, and experineces all kunds of ppl and food. But this restaurant is the worst ever on the planet. With arrogant staff, service is the worst(i wish i had deeper word to describe) and food cold as brought directly from fridge. Worst the all the way servers respond. Iam still on the table and have been waiting for food for more than 40 min(43 to be ecact) after sending it back for being cold... Still waiting, when wanted to leave they said they still gonna charge for ordered food.... Never ever ever again....XX

If you are a spicy guy, this place is for you. Its been more than 3 years this restaurant is standing good at this place. If you want a quality buffet within budget of 12-13 dollars, this is a place to go. The food is indian, completely indian to be more straightforward. The starters are more than mouthwatering and spicy. Besides Indians this place was loved my my American, European and Asian friends. Only space and hence wait time is a concern however the quality of food leads the table.

I went there for a take out order, they told me on the phone that it will be ready in 20min. I went after 30min and they still dont have the order ready. They lost order and told me to wait another 5min. I waited 15min in the restaurant and still no food. Management of this restaurant has zero professionalism (specially the guy at counter). I would not come to this restaurant ever. ps: the quality of the food is going downhill while the price is going up. not worth the visit.

Excellent Indian buffet place with nice decor, service, and price. Price is about $11 per person before tips. They have a lot of choices of curry, including lamb and chicken, with a lot of meat inside, unlike most other buffet places where you usually have a hard time finding meats. They serve you fresh naan once youre seated and they are really delicious. Salad, desserts and fruits are available too. It even has Indian milk tea for customers.

Great authentic food though not very well known since it has just recently opened. The momos and lamb dishes give you an authentic Himalayan food experience. They have an innovative mexican fusion dish like a burrito stuffed with chicken, rice and chick peas. Note that they have special biryani dishes on the weekends (not mentioned on their online menu). The only con is that their ambiance isnt great - they could do with a better decor.
