This place is pretty darn good! The only reason I havent given it 5 stars is because you have to pick and choose the right time to go. 5 Stars - If you go in the morning 9-11a for dim sum. Be warned its packed! But its worth the drive from San Clemente to Monterey Park in order to eat there. Word of advice...Youll enjoy the experience a lot better if you go to bed on an empty stomach and show up to the restaurant hungry...I promise and wouldnt purposefully try to steer you wrong. Also word of warning: You come there to eat really good food and you might experience acceptable service -only because of the sheer high volume of people there. 3 Starts - Because I went to dinner there, thinking it was going to be the same experience. Unfortunately, in my opinion, its way overpriced as compared to the service I received. There was 1 other couple in the restaurant and so we had the place to ourselves, but both of us agreed that the service couldve been a lot better. I guess I need to explain why (instead of giving you a vague statement): The waiter that served our tables was cordial but wasnt available to serve us for long extended periods of time in between refilling the tea, asking for napkins, and even the bill. The price hike wouldve been COMPLETELY justified if the service was excellent. Unfortunately this wasnt my experience that evening. Ill stick with the morning dim sum.

I forgot to check my credit card balance before ordering. I could t pay for my meal ($30) but said I would bring cash on Monday. The manager screamed at me for 15 minutes, told me that I had to pay for my food because this was the United States (he was Chinese with a heavy accent and I am a 10 th generation non Asian American), and then called the police. Meanwhile I called a friend to help me pay. He was on his way when the police arrived. The manager wanted to have me arrested but the police explained to him that I hadnt committed a crime and that the law considered this an accident. The police left , my friend arrived, and paid my bill. While this was going on the manager would t let me leave the restaurant (where my cell didnt work) so I had to use the restaurants phone to call my friend, which was very confusing for him and he had to star 69 the number after also getting an urgent call from me, not knowing where I was calling from. I was and still am flabbergasted at this treatment from a restaurant employee. Id been going there for 30 years but Ill never go back. Btw-- the same thing once happened to me at Houstons and all They did was take my name and phone number after we agreed when I could come in to repay them.

Came here for dim sum for my friends birthday. I dont like places where I have to wait for my food and then pick it. They have the cart version and I dont like those. I love ordering my dimsum and DONE. But alright... SERVICE: The great thing about this place is that they will accommodate with your BIG group. Our group was about 26 people and they were able to seat us together in the same area. They were really cool about it. I even brought a cake and they brought it out for us. FOOD: The dim sum is OK. I just prefer ordering and not waiting for them to come for my food. NO TO CARTS! PARKING: Welcome to Hell. SO many dents in so many cars. Its like people forget how to drive in Monterey Park. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. AMBIANCE: Chinese restaurant OVERALL: Meh... its good... I just prefer no carts.

Food was good but service was very poor. Typically, you would be served tea a few seconds after seating. It took 10 minutes and numerous promptings to the wait staff before we received service. The staff also did not clear our table during the meal. Typically, dishes are cleared immediately so you can order more dishes. The cart ladies had to do that for us. We ended up having to get our own dishes and utensils as well. I have been to this restaurant since I was 8 years old and this is the worst dim sum experience I have ever received, ever.

found that all the servers who bring water use the actual water cup to scoop the ice. for those of you who dont know the significant danger of this, scooping ice with the actual drinking glass may cause it to chip in the ice frig. this is why theres always a metal ice scooper in the ice frig...and no, it wasnt just for convenience. its a health issue. if injested, glass chips will do wonders to your intestinal track and can be deadly. otherwise, the food is tasty, but it questions the entire establishments quality of food prep.

This place blows hard. Theyre racist!!! I went w my asian girlfriend and everyone kept staring at us even the other asain families, so racist. They want to make feel like you are nothing, like you shouldnt even be alive. The waiters ignore you when you want something and they toss your plate in front of you like you are an animal. Never ever again. Oh this is not the only place where asians are racist, there are plenty more.

Above average Dim Sum place, but not as good as Elite or Seafood Harbor. The carts are more fun than ordering, but the dim sum can sit around for quite a while. If you can get a seat near the kitchen as they exit itll be more fresh (and see the cart come back after making the rounds. If you take a dim sum novice, it is very helpeful to have the visuals when ordering. Service is expected in Cantonese restaurant.

Its okay. I have had much better dim sum. Didnt seem like the selection was overly spectacular. Also hard to get the help to come back and check on the table. This place has "sea food" in its name so I have to concede I have not tried their seafood - perhaps their sit down evening seafood entrees are good - will have to keep it in mind for reconsideration. My review only goes toward the dim sum.

This is a review for the regular menu, not dim sum like a lot of the other reviews. We got here at 6pm on a sunday night. Somewhat crowded inside but no wait. we ordered crab and fish maw soup, fish in corn sauce, walnut shrimp, Kung pao chicken, duck meat wrap, and duck skin with bread. All really tasty and not overly greasy or salty. Really enjoyed the walnut shrimp.

This is THE place for dim sum! If you love the hustle, bustle and loud (yet controlled) craziness that is a proper dim sum experience, this is the place for you. If youre lucky, youll go with a native Chinese speaker -- it helps ensure that youre going to get exactly what you want. However, if you dont, youre still in for a good meal -- because, come on, its dim sum!

I like the taste and the presentation of the dim sum here. Customer service is a hit or miss - great service on the weekday when the restaurant is not too crowded. Once on a weekend, we were forced to pay the bill because they had to get ready for their dinner party. Seriously, it was only 1pm at the peak dim sum hours, and we just sat down not long ago.
