Very good food for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I frequent the Dipsea for all three. The location is very nice--especially on a sunny days as its located right next to where Coyote Creek drains into the bay. Almost every time Im there with my family or just my son (1st grader) who loves the pancakes and especially the way they scramble their eggs. I usually order the standard breakfast items like French toast or waffles which are consistently good. Theres not much different in the personality of those items meaning theyre straight up typical but good. If youre looking for something "special", the Dipsea isnt the place. The lunch items are very good from the turkey sandwich to the BLT. Good quality, just no "twist" on the implementation but that doesnt matter. Its a solid breakfast and brunch place. Theyre are plenty of tables and its quite large inside + theres a considerable amount of outside tables too. If youre driving in from the city, youre wait to get seated is maybe a few minutes if not right away - something that is always a pleasant surprise (if you live in the city these days). The only real downside? The parking. That can be a challenge as the parking lot is clearly limited in space compared to the amount of people they can serve. Often, I see people running across Shoreline (after theyve parked across the street) which takes courage and NOT something to do with kids in tow. Overall, a great place to make a weekend habit of if youre local and a great stop on your way to the beach (if youre from the city).

One of the best breakfasts in the Bay Area. If you live in Marin as do I then you know this already, right? If youre traveling to the north bay for a hike or sightseeing, stop by and you wont be disappointed. Also, sitting outside is pleasant and typically warm in the summer and early winter. It also offers pretty views of the Richardson Bay and surrounding hills. The food is cant miss, especially the specials of the day. The staff can a bit slow and occasionally aloof, but thats only because there are so many people there. Enjoy....

Waited about five minutes to be greated. Our food came out pretty quickly and tasted great. Our waitress, however, never once checked back on us to ask us how we were doing. Never refilled our drinks. We had to wave down a busser to get us our drinks. The next and only other time we saw our waitress was when she dropped off the check. Didnt ask us how everything tasted. She just dropped the check of and said "here ya go" I work in the service industry and am I server myself. I have never received such poor service.

We stopped here on the way to Coyote Ridge because there was traffic. I ordered the waffle and it was nice and flaky. My wife ordered the veggie hollandaise and she said the sauce was delicuous. They give you two servings, so come with an appetite if you order the hollandaise! The mimosas were nice and crisp, not too sweet. The espressos and cappucinos were delicious. And theyre dog friendly! What more could you ask for? Id definitely go back again.

Dennys is far better... Visited for breakfast and found Dipsea to have bland, heavy food that is way overpriced; for $10 I got 1 water-flavored biscuit w/ gravy, eggs, and "country fries" (cubed potatoes soaked in grease and burnt to an inedible char). NOT good food for hiking at Mt Tam unless you want get well acquainted with the outhouses. Service was adequate. Two positives: Good view of a creek. And I appreciate that they use cage free eggs.

Weve been to the Dipsea many times and the food is decent (over priced) but the service is awful. During our last visit, the waitress actually argued with us about one of our orders when delivered wrong. Everyone at the table heard the order but she actually said that we all were wrong. How funny/sad is that. We told the manager that the server was rude and his response was "I seriously doubt that". We got a good laugh but wont eat there again.

Best brunch in Marin. My family has been going to the Dipsea for years (20?) and have had consistently wonderful food and great service. Thanks to John, the owner, who is always there to greet his guests as if they were his family. Thanks, John, for taking care of my family today, Mothers Day. Another wonderful meal at a very special restaurant.

I like this location more than the San Rafael location, but the food is the same at both. Location in MV is really pretty--With the creek nearby. Often there is a wait, and the service is not fantastic. But its a good breakfast place, and really convenient if youre returning from a hike or heading to the beach.

I take all my friends from out of town here for a panacea breakfast feast after a night out in SF. Portions are huge, they have a sunny patio, the service is snappy even when its packed (its usually packed weekends), and the BACON. If nothing else, go here for the bacon! Best Ive had in Marin.

A good american-breakfast place. Large portions of scrambles, pancakes, etc. Interesting specials (buckwheat mango chocolate-chip pancakes with orange butter, for example) and good everyday menu. Parking and long waits can result, but its proof of the quality and demand.

Hungry for a good breakfast? Youll enjoy the Dipsea Cafe. If the sun is out, make sure to get a table outside or at least by the window to enjoy it. The servers are very kind and do a great job. You might enjoy some of the Greek food on the menu, its particularly good.

Went there at 7am while going to Muir Beach and Muir Woods for my last hike of the trip. The Dipsea Special was very good and that big I cannot be able to finish it, even if I was actually starving. Nice place in pure american style.

Very good food for brunch/lunch on a nice sunny day (they have a nuce terrace). Prices are a little bit high taking into account their location is not the best, although the quality of the food and staff compasates this.

Eggs Benedict! Ham & Eggs! Some of the better bay area breakfasts are served here! Yes, it takes time to get your order, but there is a reason every table is full and everyone is willing to wait. Yum! Yum!

We had a late breakfast here after enjoying Muir Woods. Its family-friendly, with a huge menu and something for everyone. The waitress was a bit short with us, but perhaps she was just having a bad day.
