My sister found this place when she was in the area for work and said it was some of the best BBQ out there. It has been on my "to-do" list for a while and I finally got the opportunity to stop there this past weekend. What makes it so good? Their house made sauces (do the sauce tasting your first time there!). I even bought the Jack Daniels and PAs Favorite to take home. Ill have a hard time replicating the smoked-fall-of-the-bone baby back ribs though at home. For sides, I recommend the taters as they come to you burn your mouth hot (the only proper way to serve French fries). Get a corn muffin too. Oh, and save room for dessert because they have fried pies (I got apple). They are fluffy and crispy and took the place of the best pie Ive ever had (it moved a pie in the Pacific Northwest to the number two spot- they specializes in pies!). Take it home if you are just too full and eat it later. You just have to try it. What I really enjoyed about this place was the hospitality. The owners, a husband and wife team and give five star service. The decor lives up to the name hillbilly with a garden hose sink (the off is marked on the side) and plunger toilet flusher (tip to the right). You sit at picnic table like booths with fun things to read on the walls. If you are in the area, or you are just in desperate need for great BBQ, you have to go here.

I waited over 24 hrs to leave this review because the owners repeatedly asked us while we were trying to leave to consider that 1 or 2 people had called out sick. That would explain the 1 1/2 hour wait and I would still consider giving a restaurant a good review for good drink service and food. However, the issues were numerous and went beyond being understaffed. The real issue was that after such a wait (my pregnant sister began cramping from hunger because the waitress kept saying the food was coming), they served us rotten potatoes. I noticed they were really dark after eating a few. I started breaking into them to see and each one had big black spots. The picture I posted on the pictures section here was the final one that made us ask for the check. One or two pieces could be a mistake, but two different plates with rotten potatoes being the majority on both would be hard to miss when throwing them into the fryer. Definitely would never stop there again and hope that they have better standards for what they serve in the future. Theres no excuse for rotten food on a plate.

I can tell you right now, I never expected such great BBQ from a restaurant in Manteca. My family stopped by here on a trip down South due to the amazing Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! The restaurant is rather cute inside and fits very well with the Hillbilly theme without being overly cheesy. The food was extremely delicious, some of the best BBQ Ive ever had from a restaurant! Most people like strong smoky flavors in their BBQ, but what I enjoy is tender, juicy meat paired with a good BBQ sauce. At Billie Hills, they make all of their own BBQ sauce and each one is unique and different and work well for every individuals specific taste preferences. We ordered the flank steak salad, the triple combo, and the pulled pork puffs. Every single dish was excellent!! The meat was all tender, the flavors were excellent, and the customer service was awesome!! Im definitely coming back here again!!

Can you say YUM??? I had the opportunity to try out this BBQ place today for lunch and it was amazing. The Pork Ribs were literally falling off the bone tender, with a great sauce. I had my order to go, but next time, I will eat it there since I understand they have a bunch of unusual BBQ sauces Id like to try. They have the most adorable and charming decor with a bathroom you simply have to take my word for it is different! Ive been all over the world and have never seen anything quite like it. This alone is worth a visit, not to mention the unbelieable FRIED SNICKERS pie...I only allowed myself to eat part of it, but it was GOOD. Im saving the rest for later.

Love it stumbled upon it while at the street fair thanks to the writing on the windows. My munchkin calls it the frog leg place and keeps asking (every meal asking) to go there. Atmosphere is fun with all the decorations but the food is drool worthy. We got of course frog legs, pork puffs with Mas fav bbq sauce (munchkin just wanted to drink it she loved it so much) and shared a deep fried apple pie with ice cream. Everything was scrumptious satisfying but we didnt regret it later which is shocking. Normally you groan and moan after bbq euphoria passes but we could still wonder the street fair feeling full but fine.

My husband and I decided to try this place tonight. We had read great reviews on YELP and thought wed give it a shot. We love BBQ and have not been able to find a decent place locally. The food was good and the decor was nice, owner stopped by our table as we were packing up our box. He was friendly however was more interested in the couple sitting next to us the service over all was lacking Im not sure if Id return. It is too bad because Im all about supporting our local businesses.

Nice, clean and friendly. Had the pork ribs with slaw, beans and taters. All were very tasty and arrived quickly. You get an assortment of very tasty BBQ sauces to try. I doubled and tripled the on the sauces to add to my delight. You also get a basket with plenty of napkins which was a nice surprise. The place is filled wityh booths which are comfortable but should have a few tables with chair for larger folk. The decor is just about right without being silly.

Visited this place based on Yelp reviews and I tried the combo three way and had the beef ribs the tips and the hot links along with a corn muffin and coleslaw We also topped it off with fried blackberry pie over ice cream . This was by far the best barbecue Ive had in years. also the owner came out and sampled each of his barbecue sauces and even allowed us to taste some of the hot stuff that he keeps in the back. We will definitely be coming back

Was referred to restaurant by client because I love bbq. It was very good. I wish I wouldve knew about the place sooner. Owner is sweet and staff very nice. Love the decored theme. They did a great job. Had ribs and tips with mashed taters n gravy. Cant wait to go back and try other dishes. They give you a complimentary gift as you check out that is hilarious! You have to at least check it out.

You cant tell from the outside, but once you step inside the decor is terrific. Theyve really put in some serious effort setting up a hillbilly atmosphere. We tried a variety of bbq from their menu and deep fried pies. The bbq was cooked perfectly and we were supplied two bottles full of regular and mild bbq sauce. This place makes a perfect stopover between San Francisco and Yosemite.
