WHAT DID I GET: The Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Key Lime Pie (small), and a Coke. HOW WAS IT: The sandwich was pretty solid; nothing mind-blowing, but it hit the spot. The Key Lime Pie (small), while good, was more of a tart; it came in this little tinfoil cup instead of as an actual slice, which was disappointing. Ive seen other places do this as well with cakes and pies (serving them in little cups instead of as actual slices), and I really dont like it. If youre going to sell pie, I want an actual slice, not two bites of a slice of pie in a little cup (the large pie was also in a slightly larger tinfoil cup). HOW MUCH DID IT COST: Including tip, it was a little under $19. WOULD I COME BACK/RECOMMEND THIS PLACE: Maybe. I wouldnt say no, because the food was satisfying and the staff was pretty friendly. I also wouldnt say yes, because my table was wobbly and I feel like I got let down with the pie (again, I was really hoping for a slice, not tinfoil cups, of pie). Also, for what I got, I feel the price was a little too high.

Ive visited Simplethings a few times - but have only tried their pies! I used to think their pies were really good (until I discovered the wonders of Pie Hole). I picked up a couple mini pies this weekend and I realized they werent as good as I remembered them to be. I ordered the banana creme, mud pie, salted caramel, and chefs special - Nutella. The best was probably the banana creme. The mud pie kind of tasted like a burnt brownie. The salted caramel was way too sweet. And the chef special tasted nothing like Nutella (I thought the worker said it was Nutella but maybe I heard wrong...). I do like the fact that their mini pies are small and cheap so you can try a lot of different flavors. They have different flavors everyday.

Solid lunch spot on 3rd St. Ive been coming here for the past several years because they regularly offer 30% off passcodes on BBE, making lunch here a great deal. They have your standard sandwich/salad/soup offerings, in addition to a couple of individual-sized pies. Their sandwiches range from meh to pretty good (the Thanksgiving sandwich and pulled chicken sandwich are my favourites), but their savory pies are awesome. My favourite is the free range chicken pot pie. Skip the sides; theyre nothing special. If you like sweet pies, they rotate through several different kinds on a daily basis. Ive only tried a couple, but so far Ive really enjoyed the strawberry, blueberry, lemon, and French silk.

My friend and I grab lunch weekly and we try and go to different spots every time. I found this spot since its between our two work locations and its a nice way to get out of the office for a little while. We always decide to go a bit early so we can beat the rush. I ended up ordering the chicken pesto with provolone. The sandwich was good and they made it pretty quickly. We decided to sit outside in the little garden. Warning - the line gets long, but it looks like they take lunch orders over the phone so thats a good way to get a sandwich without having to wait in line for too long! Pro tip: order over the phone because the wait might be really long. The chicken pesto is delis!

A cute little café on West 3rd Street specializing in pies (dessert & meat). You order at the counter and theres a small amount of indoor/outdoor seating available. While the place does sell sandwiches and salads, I recommend the pies, of course! My recommendations: The banana cream & coconut cream pies. I like to get the "cutie pies" -- bite-sized pies with a sweet crumbly crust & lots of creamy goodness! Theyre reasonably priced and allow you to try a variety of the pies. Make sure to check the pie menu to find which pies will be served on certain days.

Ive been here a few times, and almost always had a great experience. The food is very solid and tastes homemade. The menu is simple (no pun intended), but everything prepared just right. The place is a little small, but never had a problem getting a table for a quick meal. The food comes out very quickly and the service is very friendly. Their pies are pretty good too. Some are better than the others. I am not a big fan of the crust, but I am never a fan of pie crust. However, the fillings are rich and creamy, but never too sweet.

My office caters often from here and its always a nice treat! They have a variety of choices from meat, vegetarian and vegan lunches. When they cater, they arrive in a medium size container with a full size sandwich, a small side (potato salad or quinoa salad, personal dessert, and chips. My go-to is the chicken thats served on a pretzel bun. I think the potato salad is a little dry, but it good. Their little pies are adorable and so delicious. More catered lunches from Simplethings, please!

I have been here a couple of times and I enjoy the service and the overall experience of the place. It is pretty clean and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The two times I have come here, I have always ordered the fried chicken sandwich and I love it. The next time I come, I will for sure try something else. Parks is a drag but thats the only downer I can think of.

Great little spot. I always end up here when Joans on Third is too crowded (and it always is) and I always remember how much BETTER Simplethings is than Joans. The sandwiches are really creative and tasty and the pies are great. Best thing about the pies is they have the little ones - so you can get the taste of pie with only the tip of the junk food.

Love the pies, but I do not recommend to order online during lunch (like through LABite). They will put your order on the back burner. We were originally told 90 minutes. Then 15 minutes before our order was supposed to be ready, they said it would be another 2 hours. Im sorry not OK. I will only go back to them during dinner hours.

I just had SImplethings cater a HUGE lunch for my office and they were excellent! So prepared & helpful! I cater weekly for my office so I know what to expect, Simplethings went above and beyond what I normally encounter. The food was packaged perfectly and the lady who delivered was such a huge help with the set-up. **3rd Street**

I ordered catering from them and it was really good! I had the bbq chicken sandwich which was sooooooo good! I also had one of the baby strawberry mini pies. The crust was a bit messy but it was so fluffy and delicious.
