I love love love love love Magnolia Bakery and only wish I could get to it easier! When Magnolia opened this west coast spot I read some pretty bad reviews. I even had a friend who went and was highly unimpressed with their cupcakes. I dont know if they changed by the time I got there or if this is just my style of sweets but its one of my favorite bake shops. Every year I secretly wish my sig other would just know I need a cake from here and drive far out of his way to get it...it hasnt happened yet :( When I used to work near by I would make sure to buy all of my employees and good friend co-workers cakes or cupcakes from here since I loved it so much. Ive had many different flavors and theyve all been delicious. Though, i really love the Lemon! They also have banana pudding which is delicious! Ugh, would love some right now =x

Magnolia is tried and true as it has been since its original spot in NYC. I love this outpost because unlike other locations its very roomy and theres never a long line to endure. The Quality is always consistent with their delicious staple flavors and seasonal options. The ONLY aspect about Magnolia that I think can sometimes stand to be improved is that they will sometimes rush you when ordering. Granted, Im sure its annoying as a customer just stares through the glass oogling the cupcakes/cakes deciding what flavor they want, but it would be great if the associates took a beat to just patiently wait vs. making you feel like you need to decide with lightening speed (especially when there is no line). All in all, A DELIGHTFUL and DELICIOUS classic!

Fat kids of LA rejoice. The fronting on the cupcakes of Magnoila Bakery seems to be made of nothing but Crisco and sugar and tastes just as amazing. The cupcakes here are no frills. You want a cupcake, you get a cupcake. We use to have these delivered to my office on a weekly basis so Ive had my fair share of them. I will say one of my favorite is the vanilla one, not because Im plain jane but because they do it really well. The cake is moist and has the perfect ratio of frosting to cake. Taste like if you Moms was a classically trained pastry chef and made cupcakes for you all the time. They have other things there too that I would recommend trying.

I havent been here in a couple years, but was in the area and stopped in for a Red Velvet Mini Cake and when I asked for cream cheese frosting, I was told it was not available in the store. It used to be and the menu clearly states cream cheese frosting available on what it calls one of their "Classics"? Perhaps the menu needs to be updated and perhaps a sample could have been offered to persuade me the vanilla icing is also just as tasty. But just got a flat no, not available and he continued his conversation with his co-worker... It was always busy in the past, this evening, I was the only customer in the store. Something to think about.

What I Ordered - Banana Pudding My coworker was raving about this place. I love banana anything so I was eager to try it! I didnt end up visiting New York but, luckily there is a location in LA. I was finally in the area to try it out. Its not your average banana pudding. It was more of a whipped texture and a tad too sweet for my taste. I wasnt able to finish it. The bakery is small and cute. Not sure if I would be back to try anything else since its so far from me but, its worth a try if you havent been yet. Who knows, you might fall in love with it too! (Unlike me lol.)

Ok, went in to get a single cupcake for a friend who was having a rough day. I asked for a box like I get at sprinkles. She told me it was a dollar so I figured it was a really nice box but it was a generic plane little lame box. Um, I dont recall ever paying for the box at sprinkles but even it I did its a super cute box. Anyway, they gave me a sticker so at least it wasnt totally generic. Staff were less than friendly..maybe its supposed to be new york style.....

3 pieces of CAKE- 6 cupcakes... Hands down amazing, yummy- super balanced. Frosting was not overly sweet and cake very moist. I thought their pricing was fair, considering food cost have gone up, and I know they use top notch ingredients, and everything is done by hand. I for one, had a great experience! If I had a bad one- I would have let the manager know- instead of bitching about it on yelp or google- after all that is what community is about, no?

This bakery in West Hollywood was such a sweet surprise. As soon as you walk in the front door, it makes you feel welcome. It had such a classic homey atmosphere, and smelled wonderful. The service was friendly and quick. Cupcakes are about $3.50 (the vanilla buttermilk icing is to die for) and the slices of cake are about $7. They also offer personal pies, cookies, and other delicious pastries. Such a great find, and such a great little bakery.

The bakery is so cute that my friend and I bought 12 cupcakes total. The frosting on the red velvet is frothy and is not made with the traditional cream cheese frosting. The orange and lemon also had frothy frostings with a very bland taste. The vanilla and chocolate cupcakes were dry with excessively sugared frosting where you need water afterward. Better cupcakes are everywhere, try MILK on Beverly Drive or Joans on Third.

Super cute and clean bakery...Bread Pudding is a MUST! I don t have a huge sweet tooth but the bread pudding here makes me go bonkers because its so good. Not overly sweet and super creamy. I really should stay away from Magnolias just for this reason but once in a while I cave in and its so worth it. They have lattes and coffee etc which is great for those who like to end their night with a nice hot beverage.

Cool place, noticed it while bar hopping in the area because there was a line lit the door. The coolest thing about this place is that they continue to make fresh donuts so you get the freshest little ball of sugar that you can possibly get. The crumb one is for sure the best one we had here. If your in the area, do yourself the favor and come try this place out. The experience itself is well worth it.

We were very please, having travelled from the beach cities to have found Magnolia. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We tried the newest flavor ORANGE cupcake.....so yummy, very moist cake with a merengue top that was as we described as cloud like. Well worth the drive on our adventure for the day! Why would you complain about parking....cmon its LA. thelma and louise
