This little place has been around for quite a while now in Whittier, from back when the Superior was just a Vons. The quality of the establishment has been consistent through the years, calling back to my middle school years its just as a I remembered it. At first glance, it seems rather pricey, especially if you havent peeked at the photos of what a "slice" really is. You could equate a slice to something like a personal pizza to something the size of Pizza Huts family meal. Its anywhere from $4 to around $8 to get a nice lunch combo with an extremely filling slice of pizza with a (side) salad and a drink. The pizza itself probably wouldnt be a good choice if youre the kind of person that must have all the ingredients, since the price scales upwards with more toppings. BUT, hear me out, it doesnt need it. The singular topping is more than enough to provide you with a bounty of flavor with the oozing cheese and crispy under crust. This pizza is /thick/ but its not weak, its airy, and holds up to its own shape, if youre a bread lover, or carb-lover, this pizzas very foundation is something you must try. As for the ranch, you could literally drink it - and Im not trying to say its watery. Its the perfect consistency to where its creamy but still flows yet doesnt just end up sliding off whatever you decide to put it on. In that same consistent manner, every next bite is the same as the first - it doesnt get heavier nor saltier, its just right; like a tzatziki. Its not your traditional pizza but the flavors and essential parts are fantastic and Id be pressed hard to say its not the best kind to go with a beer.

I LOVE THIS PLACE..BEEN GOING HERE FOR YEARS...RATING DUE TO MY EXPERIENCE TODAY...CALLED IN TO ORDER MY USUAL LARGE PIZZA SLICES, WINGS AND POTATO WEDGES AND ALFONSO TOOK MY CALL...IT WAS 9:05 PM.. HE SAID...WE ARE NOW CLOSE.. I ASKED DID YOU GUYS CHANGE THE TIMES??? BECAUSE ONLINE IT SAYS 10PM AND 2 WEEKS AGO MY FAMILY AND I GOT THERE AROUND 8:50 . ALFONSO SAID, "WE ARE CLOSED AND THATS IT" I SAID WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I ALWAYS GO THERE AND EAT THERE AFTER WORK... "WELL, WE ARE CLOSED... WE ARE NOT MAKING ANY MONEY TODAY... SO WE ARE CLOSED". SO I SAID, WHATS YOUR NAME, HE SAID ALFONSO, YOU HAVE A GOOD NIGHT AND THANK YOU... I HEARD HIM LAUGH AS I SAID THAT...((REALLY)) I HOPE MANAGEMENT LOOKS INTO THIS BECAUSE YOU HAVE GOOD FOOD AND FOR EMPLOYEES TO BURN YOUR BUSINESS LIKE THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING.

This place is worth every penny. The pizza here is amazingly good with a wide variety of toppings. Eat your pizza with a side of Ambroses garlic bread and youll be in heaven. The place is small and constantly has sports playing, so if youre into that its great, but if youd like a quieter atmosphere try coming in the afternoon or on non-sporting events nights. Summary: Id eat here every day if I could, its 100% worth every penny Tip: Add a side of garlic bread with marinara to your pizza order, its greasy, but in that buttery delicious way

I discovered this place randomly on Yelp and actually came in on trivia night which was a lot of fun. I really like the pizza and usually my wife and I split a Large Slice and an Antipasto salad. I think the Slices are probably a better deal than their pizzas and the only difference is that instead of a nice round pizza it feels like shape out an odd slice and then randomly cut that up into eatable smaller slices. Great deal and we like their dough which is pretty thick.

I like the lasagna and mostacchioli dinners and the great deli sandwiches. They make their own bread from scratch daily. Many people rave about the pizzas (very large servings) but not my favorite. 4 stars because on take out they have given the wrong salad dressings and forgot to include the bread. They are very supportive of sports teams in La Mirada and are ALWAYS busy! They always have sports on the many TVs throughout the restaurant.

I called in an order. I was told they were busy and to give it 25 to 35 minutes, I went 40 minutes later and waited another 25 minutes for my order. Got home and found that I was missing a salad and another item that was ordered! Very frustrating! This is not the first time this has happened! The food is always good, and friendly staff! So I guess you decide if your willing to wait, if your hungry go elsewhere otherwise worth the wait!

Best pizza place around! It looks like a hole in the wall, but seriously the best pizza I have ever had in southern California. Staff is super friendly and the prices are unbeatable! A small slice is more than enough for one person and could easily be two meals! Highly recommended restaurant!

You might think from looking on the outside that this was a mistake... Until you check out their incredible menu that is complete with head sized SMALL pizza slices. They are HUGE. AND DELICIOUS! Dont forget about Tuesday trivia every week too! Yum!

Mess up my order EVERY TIME and they usually take FOREVER but I like the pizza so give them the benefit of the doubt but today they really messed up my order and I waited an hour for it so that will be my last visit for a while :(

One of the best pizza places around the servers is pretty slow but at the end really worth it make sure you get there at a good time when its not packed and always fun to eat with friends family or teammates from high school.

Pizza is different from your large chain pizza companies. but not extremly better. Places looks dirty. super crowded. Take a long time to serve your food, dont go hungry. some what wheelchair accessible.

Ambrose pizza parlor has been serving the best large slices with homemade Ranch for years! Since the place is pretty small I always call my order in and enjoy it at home with ice cold Tecate!

It takes an hour to get a pizza in their restaurant. It is to go or no go. The food is fine, the service is non existent. I know they are aware of the issue, but havent fixed it for years.

7/1/11 @ 3:52pm - my 2 girls and myself walked in and was ignored by 2 female employees! The younger girl looked and me and walked away. We stood there with no help not even a hello!!!
