Very disappointed!!! Was expecting a Mexican restaurant..well because thats what they call themselves. The menu was so lets say American not Mexican. The only dishes on the menu are catered to probably the only dishes Caucasians know...which is : enchiladas, quesadillas, chili releno, burritos, and tacos of course. I wanted a soup all they had was abondigas, tortilla soup and black bean soup (What is that?) So no 7 Mares, Caldo De Res etc. My husband wanted Ceviche and a horchata. ..guess what?!? They didnt have any. So he decides to order some fried tilapia, we expected some fried Fish. Well they served him out of the grocery store pan made fish. What I thought was hilarious is that they call shrimp cocktail " Mexican Shrimp Cocktail" To remind the Caucasians this isnt the white version of shrimp cocktail lol...What a joke l! Way over priced also! Even though our stay was next door and will return to La jolla Travelodge, We wont be eating here thats for sure! Almost forgot the service was horrible they barely checked on Us and it took so long to get our food. The waiters were scrambling around so much it looked so unprofessional.

We went to this Restaurant on Sunday, June 25, after my Nieces Wedding ceremony at Calumet Park. We had a group of about 30 people and called the restaurant to see if they could accommodate our party. We asked for individual receipts. The Hostess told us we could not get individual receipts if we all sat together. We decided to check in one group at a time. When it came to the Bride and Groom being seated, they directed them to sit in the Bar area. There were 3 tables available in the main dining room. The restaurant was empty when we showed up. The hostess told us the Bride and Groom could not sit with us due to not having enough Servers.? I am letting the the Owner of this Restaurant, myself being in the same business and living here, if you get a call for a large party, inform upfront your conditions. The food and service was good considering the attitude of the Hostess was rude and demeaning.

Words cannot express wow just wow acalamity of horrors The waitress actually showed me her bra strap in front of My Wife Believe she was trying to take my mind off the errors that it happen with the ordering Not only did she get serve the wrong food, but we were promised 25% off our entire bill and it only was actually for one item And then on top of that we were all wanting to be able to use the restroom but theres only one restroom for female and male in the whole restaurant Needless to say this was also Cinco de Mayo much we are planning on having a fun filled evening but it actually turned out to be extremely disappointing Never coming back. Just saying.

We ate here once and went once for the happy hour, two very different experiences. On the food and staff, i would say 5 star. Very good Mexican food at reasonable prices. The nachos were delicious and left us very full. As for the happy hour, i recommend finding another spot. We arrived and were told you can only get happy hour deal if you sit at the bar (which seats about 7 people total). The "happy hour margarita" is pre-made and poured out of a drink hose. It was definitely lousy and kind of turns the whole happy hour into a sham. Bottom line, go for dinner, but not for happy hour!

The tortillas were cold. They were stingy on the amount of meat they included with the dish. The waiter would literally run past our table and ask if we needed anything while still running. It was clear he was not there to help. I expected Mexican food and I got cold, bad, and dry American tasting food. They couldnt even make our cheese enchilada taste good. Very very disappointing. Oh and the bathroom smelled like a zoo and the toilet bubbled up the entire time... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE

Ordered the deluxe fish tacos "the best in town" and they were NOT GOOD. They were reminicent of big frozen fish sticks that were thrown into a fryer. The guac was turning brown and the corn tortillas were rubbery. Even the flan tasted blah- like its been sitting in the fridge too long. The albondigas soup was probably the best of the three, it had a whole meatball in it, one. I had such good memories of Su Casa from back in the day...too bad I wasted $30.

This is simply one of the best Mexican restaurants Ive ever been to. They consistently have served some of the most wonderful tasting, freshest, and healthiest Mexican food Ive ever had anywhere. The decor is also very nice, charming, and you feel like the staff treats you like family. While it is a bit off the beaten path, it is a great detour especially if you are planning on spending some time in or near La Jolla!

My husband and I ate here, per a lifeguards recommendation. It was awesome! Freshly made guac at your table - you customize the ingredients and amounts - to die for! Service was excellent and fast, yet not a hurried atmosphere. Very close to the beach, easy to find street parking and reasonable prices! Very clean as well. When were in town again, we will definitely be visiting again - wonderful!

We stayed in the hotel across the street from this place and thought it would be a great location to get authentic Mexican. The tableside guacamole was amazing and we both enjoyed watching the server make it. Our food was less than outstanding and, in fact, made me ill later in the evening. I wish I could give this place more than 3 stars but the after effects of the food made that impossible.

Pros: Fun place for the kids. Fish tanks, lots of neat-o stuff around. Packed with families around 5:30. Decent Margaritas. Table side guacamole. Carnitas are serviceable (maybe a 7 on a 10 scale). Cons: Bathrooms are horrid. Completely awful. An institution in La Jolla, been there for years. If they sorted out their bathrooms, Id recommend them much more.

Good food and great decor! We sat by one of their fishbowls and enjoyed watching them swim around while eating. We stayed across the street so we could easily stroll over. We ate outside in the lighted area one evening. Very pleasant! Keep your eyes open for bicycles! They were all over the place.

This place has a great happy hour m-f 4-7. They have some of the best house margs i have ever had. Also try the Su Casa platter and the tableside guac is very good too..I love this place! The only gripe is you better get there early on fridays for the happy hour cause it gets packed.

I cant seem to get enough of this place. Whenever Im in La Jolla to visit friends I make a point of stopping by. Crab enchiladas are my favorite, with chicken enchiladas a close second. Great to walk down to the beach after a few margaritas and watch the sunset!
