Usually its ok. But last week i went in with my niece and her friend. Ran in to a couple of friends i havent seen in a long time they were with a third woman. Well long story short the third woman(previously had been cut off three drinks before we walked in) started a fight with my niece so all parties are told to leave. Well i go back in about a week later with my son and grand daughter and have dinner. Following night go in with my husband and son and have dinner again. Next morning go in with my same niece, and get seated and the same bartender that was there for the fight , and Saturdays dinner comes and tells me " Oh your gonna have to leave till Leo talks to me" WHAT?? Who runs a business like that?? Come on now. My niece was the one that was attacked in the wooden nickel and we are being treated as if we started it. When in reality the bartender should know when his customers have had too much to drink. I have never given a review but this is ridiculous how we are being treated based on the way members of the staff feel that night or day.

My daughter went with her friends to the Wooden Nickel, forewarned that they did not have "gluten free" and they did not like "gluten free" people; no matter, she just ordered a burger patty, apologizing that she had Crohns and celiac; they delivered her order, the patty covered with cake. She explained that she really was severely ill--indeed, she looks it, in fact, she is preparing for a transplant at Stanford--and would they please just give her a plain patty; they said no, and, yes, she would have to pay for her meal even though she could not eat it. Think its funny, do you? Well, individuals as sick as my daughter can die from your games. I can only guess that you must be Republicans, which would explain your ignorance and cruelty.

WORST customer service EVER !!! First time trying to eat at this place I walk in with my boyfriend and son tried asking if we take a seat or wait by the door to be seated and the server ignored us then she walks by again and I politely say excuse me she answered by saying its going to be a while you can have have that table but its going to be a while . She didnt even let us ask the question we wanted to ask!!!! youll walk in here hungry and walk out wanting to slap a b****!!!

I have been going to this place for years - it is the best! Huge portions for breakfast too! Just so good and the best in Watsonville. Leo does a great job cooking and with his staff as well. Full bar - a fun place to watch sports too while enjoying a basket of fries or onion rings.

Definitely my favorite restaurant & bar in Watsonville. Try the mixed grill platter. It has one of everything edible animal, and its huge. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that the selection of beer is limited. The staff are all very friendly and service is quick.

The Wooden Nickel is a hidden gem. Exquisite California Cuisine disguised as a honky-tonk sort of bar. Giant portions, live music (sometimes), and great people. This is the locals favorite. You must try the nickel burger at least once in your lifetime.

Had the house burger with, mushrooms, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, ,avocado and sprouts. Served with Coleslaw, fries, chocolate cake , Orange slice. The meal is extremely flavorful and enjoyable. Food is over the top with great flavor.

Had skirt steak and eggs. Steak was twice as big as Ive ever been served! Everything was cooked perfectly. Waitress was flash and there when needed. It was my first time but will not be my last. Bring an appetite!!!
