I have been a long time customer of Szechuan Garden. However, on March 6th, my mother had food delivered to her house and there was an awful smell to it. After pulling the food out of the bag, it was found that the mongolian beef had a horrid smell to it. Due to our busy schedule, we were not able to call the restaurant that night, hence why we had it delivered. We ate what we could but were not able to even take a bite of the beef due to the horrid smell. The next day we called the restaurant and informed them of the situation and the lady on the phone rudely interrupted me and stated "we dont have rot food". I was polite and informed her that we have been long time customers and have never had an issue but would just like the credit for the beef that we were not able to eat. She kept yelling at me telling me "WE HAVE LOTS OF LOYAL CUSTOMERS, WE DONT CARE ABOUT YOU!", "if you want to prove to me your food is rotten, you bring it to the restaurant!". Finally, we drove down to the restaurant. We asked the lady if she was the one we spoke to on the phone and she immediately got defensive "show me the rot, show me the rot!" My mother gave her the food and she refused to take it. The manager did not want to give us a refund of the food or give us a credit for the next time we order from them. Then one of their rude customers started yelling at both me and my mother, telling us to just get the F*** out you fat B**** (please note, this lady was at least 100lbs bigger then me). We were not trying to cause a scene and politely came in with the food as they had demanded. The manager wound up THROWING $10 at my mother and told us to get out. Needless to say, we will not be ordering from them again. Szechuan Garden, you have lost a loyal customer due to your lack of compassion and professionalism. We will be contacting the health board regarding your standard of food.

Very rude employees, mediocre food, dirty restrooms. I gave this place 3 tries before rating and every time the staff was rude and something was wrong with my order. Two of my visits were to-go where I ordered sweet & sour pork, but when I got home I discovered that they forgot the sweet & sour sauce so I had batter fried puffed up pieces with tiny dots of pork buried somewhere in the fried batter. I returned to the restaurant and politely asked them for the sweet & sour sauce that they forgot to include. Their response was a bit strange as they acted like I was lying to them. They did kind of apologize and the gentleman at the counter asked my for my name and phone number. He stated that he would give me a discount on my next order to make it up. So only a week later I placed another to-go order. I did not mention the discount that the previous gentleman offered when I place my order over the phone. So I went to pick up my order and this time I inspected it. The younger rude person at the counter seems to be very put-off by this so I explained to him that they forgot my sauce in my last order so this time I wanted to check before I left. I ordered a couple of different dishes this time as the SS Pork sucked. This is when I mentioned to the clerk that they had promised to give me some sort of discount on my next visit and they should have my name and number on file. The clerk became very rude and said no, that is not true. I said excuse me? He went on to say that they always include the sauce so that is just untrue. Ha! I really was so shocked I didnt even know what to say. Especially since I had given them a $5 tip for my to-go order on my previous visit and they Fd it up and now this little A-hole had the nerve to flat out accuse me of lying! Unbelievable! A solid ONE STAR for this place!

Ive been coming here for several years now , and its so great here I decided to write a review. Ok let me first start out by saying, wow on their service. Last week (2/5/17) my family and I decided to go here, its like our super bowl tradition. My family is big, we had a total of 9 people. I called ahead and when we arrived everything was ready! Ok so hold on, thats not all... We have brought people from our church here on several occasions, and this past Sunday everyone came! It was unplanned we all decided to go eat there , and we all arrived within minutes of each other . Literally with us and the other 4-5 families that arrived it was more than 30 people , and let me tell you they did a jaw opening job on sitting all of us down. Ok now to the food! THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD YOU WILL EVER HAVE. The orange chicken is my personal favorite (Im sure the other 30 agree too) its has a crunch texture on the outside and soft delicious chicken inside. I love how they start you out with tea and if you order wonton soup they bring that right out. The soup is great and always fresh. After that they start bringing everything out, one plate after another. They are so quick, I have never been disappointed here, ever. More importantly , they are very reasonably priced! I highly recommend this place to anyone who lives near and is tired of the inconsistency of other Chinese restaurants. The folks here wont let you down! Well see you guys soon...

The sauces were delicious and complex. The wait staff was not very friendly or courteous, but I guess you cant expect that in these kinds of places that focus mainly on carry-out. The teapot had yesterdays leftovers caked on the side that the dishwasher couldnt clean off. The value is high ($9.95/person for appetizers, soup, and mains - big mains) for their gourmet dinner. The sizzling rice soup was pretty good, though the vegetables were a bit too crunchy, and I thought the consistency of the beef was a bit like rubber. Overall, wed go back if we were craving carryout, but probably not if there were other closer options available.

A small restaurant at the South end of the strip with Raleys. Servers are very polite and attentive to customer needs. We had the Gourmet Dinner for two which included the usual soup, spring rolls, fried prawns and two dishes along with rice. The food is pretty good and the portions provided some leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Beef was a bit too spicy but well ask them to tone it down next time. Chicken with cashew was good. We will return.

My new FAVORITE Chinese restaurant in all of Sacramento and maybe anywhere. Incredibly fast and kind service. Relaxed luxury environment. The music is soft. Very romantic. The food is incredible. I got something simple, the sweet and sour pork, fried crab and cream cheese wontons with a side of rice. Beer is $2.50 and wine is $3.50!!!! The food was incredible! Even just the rice alone was delicious. I cant recommend this place enough!
