OMFG!!!! This place is awesome! My wife wanted some sushi (which really means California Rolls), so we were gonna go to MoMos on Rimpau in Corona. Well, turns out they closed down a few weeks earlier. So, out comes the trusted Nexus running Pure Android, and Google to the rescue! Ive passed this place dozens and dozens of times, but weve never eaten here. Everybody was extremely nice and helpful as soon as we entered. We ended up eating at the Teppan tables. The cook was really funny. But the food was freakin awesome. He gave us 3 shrimp apiece as a free appetizer. They were probably the best grilled shrimp Ive ever had. I had the Cajon flavored steak. The wife had the Teriyaki Chicken, but the chef gave her some extra regular Hibachi chicken so she could try both and see which she liked better. All three of these were some of the best weve ever had. I think my Cajon steak was the best Ive ever had. The fried rice was great too. And the vegetable were great. Ive never had such good tasting grilled pieces of onion and mushroom and carrots. Had a triple Saki sampler for only $10. Excellent. The salad dressing was the ginger based dressing that I find at all Japanese restaurants. But, this was some of the best ever. I could just drink the dressing by itself. If youve ever had Mikado dressing from the supermarket (in the cold section), its very similar to that. Prices was better than most as well. We stuffed ourselves with two appetizers, the double combo dinners, saki for me, lemonade for her, upcharge for fried rice and green tea ice cream for $65. Not bad. A normal dinner for two at the Teppan could be had for a little over half that. This is our new most favorite Japanese restaurant. lol

Who knew you could find such fresh sushi in Corona of all places? Overview: Long story short, its honestly really hard to find a place that has good food AND good service. The food was delicious and well-priced. The servers and Sam, the manager, handled some bad customers (loud, rude, and a little belligerent) in possibly the classiest way I have ever seen. SGC will DEFINITELY become my go to spot in Corona. -------- It was my first time here and I made the mistake of coming on New Years weekend, but I can tell you that it was still worth it. There was a small line, but the manager, Sam I think, was really accommodating and let us know just how long we would have to wait. He checked up on us a few times. We waited only about 15 minutes and were seated. Pros: -Sushi was definitely fresh. It was so good. -Rolls were amazing! (Definitely try the SHOOTING STAR and the LEMON ROLL) I only picked them because of their fun names, but I think I found my favorites. -Our server, Alexis, was spot on. She remembered alot of the random things we asked for AND took care of us without having to even ask. We felt very well taken care of. -I didnt catch the other servers name, but she was super nice too. Cons: -There was a wait, but I did go on a busy weekend. Besides, 15 minutes isnt really much considering I live in LA. (Also, the manager was really nice about the wait.) -It got a little loud, but again, I think it was due to the New Year rush.

Just moved to Corona in March and since my wife and I both had Good Friday off, we decided to head here for lunch. Its in an unassuming location, but the reviews were enough to make me give it a try. While the AYCE sushi was intriguing, we decided to try the Teppan. I was impressed by the spacing between the tables; very open without us having to yell over the conversations at the other tables. We ended up having a table to ourselves. Our waiter was attentive and everything came quickly, even though they were busy. We ordered a Playboy sushi roll that was fantastic and the soup was great. My wife had the teryaki chicken and I had the lunch Filet Mignon & shrimp. Our chef was very personable, but when he realized we were short on time and more interested in a rare concversation with one another without kids, he skipped the theatrics we saw at other tables and got our food quickly. My wife was amazed at how tender and tasty the chicken was for being cooked so fast. But not so enamored that she didnt take several swipes at my meat & shrimp, which were awesome. Ive already started making plans with my parents to take my son & daughter ( 4 & 3) for my sons birthday in June. I know theyd love the theatrics and the food. Nice to find such an unexpected gem in the neighborhood.

I havent stop by SGC for a few months and my family and I stopped in on Tuesday. We waited quite a while to be seated when there was an open table with no one sitting their. We were finally seated and didnt have a server ask us for drinks for the first 10 minutes. She came up and took our orders for the drinks, we also ordered a soup for my daughter because at this point we were already there for about 30 to 45 mins. About 10-15 mins go by and we have not received our drinks, even tho our waitress was taking orders and bring them there cocktails. We had to flag down our waitress to ask where out drinks were and if we could get the soup. Another 5 mins go by and we finally receive the drink but no soup. So again we had to ask for the soup. She finally brought the soup and took our orders. And yet another 15 mins goes by before our cook comes up. He was a great cook the food was amazing like always but the show was a 3 out of 10. He did do some tricks but with no energy. It was like he was tired of doing it. I dont know what happened, I didnt see any of the normal faces I have seen for years.

So I came to check this place out because of the high rating it has received. So I came in for luch with a friend and we did the AYCE Lunch the selection is a little smaller than the dinner menu and it was under 20 bucks a person. The quality of the rolls was pretty great and the kinds of unique rolls were decent. It was clean, friendly, and a fun experience overall. I would like to say that I didnt give it 5 stars because it wasnt a wow experience like the other ratings would have you believe. The rolls they have are the usual rolls you would find at most places except for about 5 unique rolls. The unique rolls were tasty but, seemed a little generic. I would still highly reccomend coming here and checking this place out because it is a great deal for the price and quality. I will be coming back here again to see how the dinner menu is and update my review after.

Wow, although my family and I love the experience of teppan. We will not visit this place again. In a restaurant that has only 6 people seated our party of 4 was not able to sit on an edge allowing us to all see the show and each other. I didnt feel it was too much to ask for a birthday boy but he thought otherwise. The arrogant manager would not accommodate us so I asked for the owner. Dumb luck but he was the owner. What an absolute jerk this guy is. My business and personal expenses on my tax return for this establishment in 2015 was over $2000.00 so I was a pretty good customer. No more. Drive the extra 5 miles to find Benihana or another teppan place. You will not be disappointed in Benihana but there is a very good chance this place will disappoint you tremendously
