If fancy and expensive, (one might say "overpriced") food isnt your thing, then this place, which I may or may not know how to pronounce, is not for you. Ive seen avid fast food junkies laugh derisively after just a quick glance at the menu. However, once you walk through the doors, you get a sense of what it must be like in a hybrid between a cozy little neighborhood bakery in France & a bohemian restaurant in Brussels. Yes, the prices are high but the atmosphere is legit, the fare is light, yet filling, and the pastries and freshly-baked breads are gorgeous enough to make your mouth water just by looking at them nestled safely behind the glass. They have a lot of Mediterranean-inspired meals, as well as a lot of Vegan options, mixed in with some all-American comfort foods, all prepared with care and aesthetically pleasing to eye. Due to the nature of the restaurant and its roots, everything here, (especially the breads), has a very distinct European flare. Of course, Im a self-proclaimed food connoisseur, A.K.A. major foodie, so Ive gotten used to very excitingly explosive flavors, unique & interesting combinations, and a hell of a lot of sweets. So, if youre like me, the food of Le Pain Quotidien may not be enough to satisfy the adventurous food-loving beast in you. But if you want to do good by your body by giving it a great, light & healthy meal or a high quality cup of coffee and delicious pastry, then give this place a try.

Claremont is full of great restaurants, so the fact that every time I pass by I feel the need to make a Le Pain run is saying a lot. The food is delicious, with actually substantial vegan and vegetarian options. Great seasonal specials, but the black bean tartine (tartine- open face sandwich on amazing fresh made bread) and letil salad are year-round standbys. (And yes, there are a lot of picky eater/"kid-friendly" options) The desserts are must have, the colossal yet light as a cloud almond meringue being number one. Honestly you could just live off the bread here, but youd be missing out on a stellar menu. Oh and did I mention the heavy emphasis on sustainable/ organic?

Nice place for breakfast, quiet with soft classical music in the back ground, perfect for a small meeting, or hang out with friends, the food is amazing, most dishes are organic, the bread is baked fresh daily, and the jams are made in house. Service is always great and fast, great recommendations regarding some of their dishes. For sure a place you should try.

Meh...at best. I had the smoked salmon open faced sandwich...it was simple the way I would have done it at home if I had just gone to the supermarket to buy my smoked salmon...My husband had the chicken open faced...e said it was ok...I think a bit overpriced. The setting was nice. The inside of the restaurant was clean. Service was good. Overall, Meh.

I am so pleased to discover my absolutely favorite LA breakfast hideout in Claremont, Ca. The food is so delicious and they have gluten free food. Hallelujah, I know they will get more gluten free options someday... they are a haven in a wasteland of fast food and processed poisonous mainstream stuff that should not be posing as food.

Their sign says they close at 9pm, its Saturday night. They shut the patio heaters off on us at 7:45pm. I asked and they acknowledged their sign, but said they are closing at 8pm. Perfect strategy to keep us from coming back and turning people away. Plus, very rude to us. I Instead of le pain, a total organic pain.

Great place if you want to go outside the routine. Food is delicious, and great for people with food allergies and or watching sugar intake!!! I absolutely love this place but being realistic coffee is not the best.. For price I expected more. However its easy to over look when food and environment is so yummy!!

Food is crazy great. Quinoa with fruit, nuts and agave nectar is refreshing. The waffle is....THE TRUTH! Organic coffee is better than regular coffee and they serve it here! Service is a little questionable sometimes so cant give 5 stars but the grub is on point.

Great place for groups, that offers good Italian food. Can be pricey, but customer service is good, and food is as well. This isnt the place if youre looking for a quick bite to eat, its definitely more of a sitdown place to hang around and have conversation.

The food, wonderful! The ingredients are fresh and wholesome. The wait staff was arrogant and it was impossible to get an error on the bill corrected (I was overcharged by $100). Stay clear of this one! No food is worth the customer service failure here.

Very fresh salads, mostly delicious pastries, excellent breads, lovely outdoor seating by the fountain. Good, small selection of beer & wine. Dinner menu is also quite limited. And all around, small portions at high prices.

Good food, but disappointing service. Spent $55 on lunch. Then $5 on an iced mocha. Was asked to leave or purchase more food to stay longer. We were there for lunch for less than an hour.

True bread. I drive 45mn to get my loafs from them. If you wonder what traditional frenchbread should taste ... Pay them a visit. Expensive though and dont expect baguettes

Great food, not so great service. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, mostly organic. Winter hours have changed to close at 8pm as opposed to 9pm.

I was craving Gazpacho. I called and found out they serve it daily. I went, I ordered. I was satisfied. Light casual ambience, soft music playing.

Ate lunch at a decent price. Small meals and an interesting take on sandwhiches: only one slice of bread! Great for the health conscious diner.

I love that the food is organic, but its not that great. The coffee was the best, everything else was bland. And a bit pricey as well.

Well designed cafe with lots of seating inside and outside. The display cases were well presented and the coffee was good.

Service sucked. Way slow and disorganized. There were two many components in a simple dish that were useless.

Not a French bakery or eatery. An organic food place that serves bland but high quality food
