This place was going to get one star, but our waitress, Roxie was amazing! So it gets 2. When my friend and I got to Off the Street Cafe on Sunday for lunch, it was understandable crowded. We were told it would be 45 minutes, but it was about 55 for us to be seated. And at 50 minutes, when we checked with the hostess, she looked annoyed when she told us there 2 people ahead of us. When we were seated, a guy immediately asked us what we wanted to drink. When I asked for strawberry lemonade he practically scoffed when he told me they didnt have any. So we asked for time to look at the menu. Roxi ended up helping us instead and she was an absolute doll! Though, when they brought my friends tea, it was super sweet, so when she mixed it to possibly dilute the sweetness, we noticed a piece of onion floating around in her drink. We told the hostess about it when she walked by since Roxie was helping others and she switched the drink out for us. By then we had already lost our appetite, but we decided to stay since we were so hungry and waited to long. My burger was delicious, but the house fries I got with it tasted undercooked and looked like it was literally picked up off the street. Roxie asked how the food was and I said it was ok, but she insisted on knowing more, so I told her how the fried tasted underdone and she apologized genuinely. She said theyre usually really good. Fortunately, they took my friends drink and my meal off of the receipt so we didnt feel so bad about eating there. As we left, my friend stopped to talk to the hostess about how great Roxie was. Then the hostess asked about our food and my friend told her about the onion in her drink (which she switched out for us). But she stared blankly at my friend as though she didnt understand why that was an issue. She also told her about the House Fries tasting undercooked. The hostess apologized for that and said she hoped wed come back and give them another try. We got a free cinnamon roll for checking in with Yelp with no problem, so I took it to go and gave it to my sister when I got home. Roxie was the best part about that place. I appreciate them removing stuff we had issues with from the receipt... But I will definitely not be going back. I had high hopes for this place after reading the reviews and was very disappointed.

Amazing Scramble with chopped tomatoes (smart people: no liquid, which usually makes scrambles soggy), chopped basil & lightly crumbled feta cheese. No salt needed. The flavor was perfect & there was just enough natural saltiness from the feta. It came with sweet, fresh, tasty fruit (again, smart people: no nasty refrigerator taste, like so many other breakfast joints have) and a soft & fluffy handmade biscuit with perfect handmade peach jam and real, whipped butter. I ordered iced coffee and knew immediately it was some really good coffee, but didnt know until later that they serve a cold brew. Finally the other stuff, thats also important: friendly & pleasant staff, very clean, well stocked, reasonably priced. Go. Its great. I wish I lived closer!!! UPDATE: Came back for a 2nd time... same great food & service. This time from Missy. And todays fresh homemade jams were blackberry & strawberry. Yum!

I think a good number of locals already know this place is a little hidden gem. But if you havent been, I highly recommend it. Its a perfect breakfast/brunch spot and the wait never seems to be more than 30 minutes even during the busiest weekend hours. The staff is always friendly and the food is your regular breakfast fair, but it is damn good. I havent been disappointed yet by anything there. That mashed potato omelette, though is likely the best thing on the menu. The rootbeer barrel candies at the desk are a huge plus, also. Its easy to miss, but if youre looking for a good place to get a solid breakfast, thats the one.

Unless youre paying attention, theres almost no way of knowing theres an eatery in this area. Once inside, you forget youre near the substreets of Norwalk. It is very quaint. Our server was so attentive and the food got to us very fast. We came in for breakfast (look at the size of those pancakes!). The food was great and my eggs were cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back.

Place was great as always! Had the house skillet with chorizo and my boyfriend had the fitness waffle, the best two breakfast plates in my opinion. Also got a free cinnamon roll with a yelp check in and it was sooo tasty. Had to take most of it home though (got full off of our main entrees lol). Our waitress Mackenzie was very attentive and so sweet. Will come back again like always.

My french toast was stale im guessing because it tasted uncooked and hard to the touch. I got no apology from the server or the lady ringing people up who may be the owner or manager. Also, I ordered an extra side of tortillas with my meal which came with tortillas already and was charged 2.50 for two whole tortillas. I used to love this place but I dont know anymore.

Beautiful café! The people are kind. I would recommend the blinzes or the cinnamon bun French toast. I do not recommend getting the latte because it tastes just like normal coffee, just pricier. Other then that the last thing I recommend is getting there at 9 or earlier because there are no reservations and it is a very popular place

Ordered eggs with bacon and hash browns The essentials. Far Better than Dennys and IHOP but not as great as the pan or the coffee cup in Long Beach. The decor is very nice and well executed. Service .... Not bad.. the energy of the service left me appreciated but there is a noticeable lack of joy from people working there.

We just had breakfast there and it was really good. I tested the quality, by trying a hard dish, chicken fried steak, and they passed. And my fiance had the waffles. Everything tasted well cook and fresh. Service was good also. We didnt feel rushed and we werent asked a million times if we were good. I felt at ease.

We sat at the bar, and it was pure mahem. If you want an anxiety attack to start you day off, sit dead center at the bar and watch 10 waitresses yell at 3 cooks through the service window. It was crazy....never seen anything like it. Food was ok. Service was lacking. Very tense dinning experience. I wont be back.

I love this place, I have been coming here for over 19 years and will continue to eat here, wish they had not re decorated the place though it felt a lot more homey than it does now. But other than that the staff is amazing and the food is the best!!! and they are not picky with their portion sizes!

Had breakfast there for 1st time and enjoyed the food and service. Food was very good and met my expectations as ordered. Will definitely return. I ordered the Jalapeno sausage with Egg whites, hash browns and toast, my son ordered a larger breakfast plate but with pancakes that were delicious.

Love it! We were referred here by our service guy at the Sprint store at Lakewood Mall. I have driven by this area a billion times and never noticed this place! It was super busy inside!! Great find, pretty great service and really yummy food! Would definitely bring back a friend.
