Top-notch coffee. Roasted at their Sorrento Valley location, offering several in-house blends as well as a rotating single-origin espresso. The baristas know what they are doing, and are happy to explain to you the flavor profile of a given coffee, the process of pulling a shot, foaming milk, making latte art, etc. Love the "its all about the coffee" vibe inside--spartan furnishing accompanied by conspicuous, yet elegant granite and wooden countertops. Lots of local regulars add an "only found in Cardiff" character as well. On top of it all, taking in the view of the Pacific Ocean down the block while enjoying your coffee is simply hard to beat.

I really liked my cold-brewed coffee, even though it was a little on the strong side. The other person wasnt especially impressed by their cappuccino, but I look forward to coming back for a coffee or maybe pour-over. They had some pastries for sale, but strongly recommend going to VG Bakery (3 blocks away) for all those.

Great coffee, great presentation, great location on the coast up the street from the Kook. Need to figure out a better seating plan, but this location (original in Sorrento Valley) hasnt been open too long so I wont nitpick that point. Give Zumbar a try. I bet youll be back.

I believe the Batistas at their other location are better. This location is bigger and open longer, but they just dont make coffee as well. The French press I had tasted worse than machine brewed coffee.
