Ive been going to Palapas for nearly 20 years now. Not ever day or every weekend, more like twice a year or so, but that’s only because I live two hours away, otherwise I would go more often. As for the food, I dont remember a time when I didnt like it. In fact of all the restaurants I do go to, I would put Palapas in the top 10. As for the service, I would say it has its hits and misses from time to time, but generally its pretty good, and like any business, good help is hard to find and retain. The one thing I do like about this place are the prices, yes,… it may be a little more than other places, but there are few places like this, plus it keeps the Riff Raff away. People who appreciate the ambiance, the food and pleasant neighborhood will enjoy Palapas. If you can go when the weather is nice, sit outside and enjoy a picture of margaritas and the good life. Oh yes, this is an adult kinda place; take the kids to Denny’s some time instead.

I made reservations for two. Showed up early and walk ins were being sat before me. Then I got a crappy table and the server took 20minutes to ask if we wanted drinks. He didnt ask about appetizers or if we were ready to order which we were. I had to yell for an appetizer as he walked away. I could see the server stopping to stuff his mouth with food and never washed his hands. My date finished two drinks before our food finally came, and guess what...NEVER GOT THE APPETIZER. We decided not evem touch the food and leave. Wespoke to the manager who was incredibly rude and didnt believe my story and said she has never had a probablem with the server. She had me pay for the drinks and never apologized. I will never go back or reccommend this place!

This place is pricey, and the food isnt worth the money. Now we get that out of the way, we can talk about why this place is so great. The drinks are pricey, but they are very strong and and actually well made. The service is okay but after a few drinks you really shouldnt mind. The patios are absolutely amazing during warmer days, and the view, yes, the view is absolutely gorgeous. So go there with some food in your stomach, order a pitcher of their margaritas, and sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon.

I give this place 5 stars for having Veggie/Vegan options! It is hard to find good tasting Veggie/Vegan Mexican food spots and they have a large menu for this. They even offer dairy-free cheese (probably not fully vegan because casein, but rare no the less to find). No one makes reservations these days so all these complaints dont apply to me..or really the food (the most important part). Too many haters on here.

I absolutely love Palapas .... when ever there is a special occasion, I want to meet my friends and family there. The food is consistently delicious. I love Hanna ... she has been one of the managers there for years and she always goes out of her way to make your event / evening special. Our son and new daughter-in-laws rehearsal dinner was held outside and was perfect!

DONT waste your money! Bland over cooked food (fish tastes like they freeze it). Horrible service, overpriced but great view. Its a good place if you go for just a drink, but we made the mistake if having dinner and it doesnt live up to its prices. BOO

This is the best Mexican/Seafood restaurant in the county and beyond! This is not "normal" Mexican food, from the fresh seafood specials to the excellent mango margaritas, its different from the usual Mexican restaurant, its fantastic!

Oceanside decks are relaxing and tranquil. The bar staff was friendly and accommodating. Great tasting cocktails! Hearty flavorful salsa and crispy chips! The deep fried shrimp was superb! Must try! Pet friendly!♡

Wow incredibly inaccessible, they dont answer their phone during business hours, no to-go orders and only the bar is open at 1130, not the restaurant. Waste of time!!!
