It is unfortunate the man I knew as Yasha (for who the store is named) has passed a few years ago. I always enjoyed talking with him and listening to his stories. The store he started continues now operated by his two sons. It is basically the same with a good selection of everything Russian and Eastern European. His son bakes bread almost daily and the hours of operation allows for patron convenience. The meat selection is wonderful and the various fresh salads are authentic and tasty. If you wish Sushenaya ryba (dried fish), pickled herring or caviar that is available. The selection of other products including pastry, pickled items and candies make the mouth want to taste everything. If you are lucky and early you may even be able to score a house made Pyerogi. Prices are not cheap but they are reasonable. And yes the selection of Russian Baltica Beer and Eastern European wines can make any celebration a hit. The only negative is that sometimes they run out of some items before I have a chance to get there.

This place is great, my Bosnian/Serbian wife can shop for the goodies and make authentic meals for the family. Their bread is fresh and the smoked meat selection is pretty solid. They should really label their fresh deserts though, they assume everyone going in is familiar but some of us dont know what were looking at. Haha. Europeans dont tend to smile like us Americans, or at least dont initiate one first, so dont expect it but know they are friendly and one can understand their accents.

My grandmother was from the Ukraine and she used to make all sorts of awesome food: pierogies, galumpkis, borscht, pickles etc. Since moving to Phoenix, I havent had much luck finding polish/russian/ukranian food. Lucky me, I found Yashas! They have a lot of good "old country" food. Their pierogies are homemade and delicious. What put me over the top was the bucket of homemade pickles sitting in brine near the counter. Im excited to go back and try some of their other stuff.

I lived in Ukraine for 2 years. When I got back to the states, specifically Phoenix, I was excited to know that there was a Russian store. All of the food is exactly what they have in Ukraine and it is delicious. I spoke to the lady working the register in Russian. We were on our honeymoon when we stopped in and the lady gave us a free bar of chocolate to congratulate us. Typical Russians! I love their culture!

Always a pleasure to shop at Yashas! A diversity of foodstuffs from all over Central and Easten Europe with special emphasis on Russia, of course. Very nice wine and liquor selection. I highly recommend the deli meats. Very flavorful and well worth the price. Lots of great gift items, too. The staff is very friendly and helpful, too!

Oh man! So cool! Very friendly, they helped me out with everything and all of my questions! Great selection, they have tons of stuff! Do yourself a favor, stop in and buy a bunch of stuff, especially if youve never had a Russian experience! Licorice soda? How can you go wrong? My son loved the sheeps cheese!

I love this place but ever since the real owner passed away (bless his heart) loved this dude...the place looks like a dump basically. If the son would only put maybe an extra 10k into a business thats paid off...it would look great again. But at the moment..its basically a dump with decent food.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Make sure to park in back or youll just have to walk around to the back lol, but other than that even the location is great. Theyve got a great variety of cured, deli and sliced meats, as well as fresh European confections and daily staples.

This market is for those, who would like to try some goods from Russia. Perhaps, name is pretty self-explanatory. They have some quality products imported from Russia and people who came from that culture, might find a lot of things for themselves.

Fair selection of Russian packaged and fresh deli. Maybe not anywhere as substantial as perhaps a shop in Sacramento or SF, but for the desert is nice to be able to get things for my wonderful Russian wife.

If you want authentic Russian cuisine, that is the best place to go to in Phoenix. The prices are high and parking is terrible, but they have a decent selection of Russian dishes.

The experience wasn’t bad at all. The selection is big, quality is not bad, the only thing is prices kind of little bed expensive.
