Stale and cold food. We went there for weekend buffet out there. Ambience is good and enough room as its not at all crowded. It was only 20-25% full on the normal saturday weekend. It has only one positive that it is near to Airport and nothing else. Mostly non indians are coming here for food who may not be knowing the real indian food. By far this is the only indian restaurant or dhabha in the whole world run by a Sikh but the worst. Punjabis and sikhs are known for good food but this is utter disappointment. Starters were bhajji which were not at all hot and very stale. After one bite you can tell that they dont contain any spices not even salt properly. The besan inside was not at all cooked. Cantaloupes and grapes at the fruits were very stale - at least a week. They had mixed the vegetarian and non vegetarian items together and it was not at all apparent. Accidentally my wife took one of the non vegetarian items and for which the staff was not at all apologetic. In deserts - custard was very stale and worst taste - the custard flour was coming out - i have never heard of anybody screwing up custard. Gulab jamuns were at least 2 weeks old and made up of Gits or ready to made stuff. Gajar halwa was not at all grated properly and appearing or tasting like gajar ka halwa. Kheer was okay. They had put "Sooji ka halwa" over custard-so one can understand how much caring they are and what kind of customers are coming there. Navratan korma was somewhat okay. Palak Paneer were not having any paneer - very cheap. Dry Aloo saag was pathetic and tasting at least two weeks old. Naans were somewhat okay. They had around 5 non vegetarian dishes which were also stale and tasteless - thats what my non vegetarian friend told me. Service was also poor, one has to ask for naans at the table and they were not taking the used plates - we have to keep it to the neighboring table(it was easy as the restaurant was only 25% full). On top of it - they charged 18% gratuity for the party of more than 4 adults and kids. When the person was asking for the feedback - i told him honestly that by far this is the worst experience in Phoenix as far as indian food is concerned. He called upon another guy with mustache - that guy literally started arguing and shouting. He started defending himself that we are here for 23 years and our chef is 15 yrs experienced - nobody ever gave a negative feedback about this place. He instead asked - where all we have been to? I told Chennai chetinad and he got more furious. His point was that we get 90% Americans as customer so may be spices were less - i said "The Dhaba" in tempe has more customers even on week days and more percentage of Americans than what he is claiming. Moreover "the Dhaba" is really low on spices but otherwise okay kind of restaurant, This guy got further argumentative and i gave up. One can understand - people who are not willing to accept their mistakes and receptive of the feedback cannot improve. Better not to go there again. STAY AWAY and AVOID THIS Restaurant at every cost. Even if it is near to Airport - just drive another 15-20 minutes there are plenty of good Indian restaurants. It is so shameful that they have "New Delhi" in the name - anybody who has been to Delhi(india) and eaten out there will be offended by it. Just stay away from this restaurant. Its not even worth $5 worth of buffet. Our cost was at an average $14/person.

I have heard great things about this place, but never stopped here until today. The inside and outside of this place is beautiful. The building is divided into two halves: a shop on one side, where you can buy Indian products, and a restaurant on the other, where I was heading. The first thing I noticed when I stepped inside was that I was the only customer. Since I had arrived between the lunch and dinner hours, I guess that was no surprise. The second thing I noticed was they had a buffet table, which I had not expected. I had figured this place for a regular restaurant, which it is to some extent. You can still order off a menu. I decided to try the buffet. Right away I am taken aback by the paltry selection of items, and my complete unfamiliarity with them. I have never eaten Indian food before, and crossing it off my bucket list was one of my reasons for stopping here. Most of the dishes appeared to be goop made from different vegetables. I generally do not like goopy foods, but I am game to try anything new. For protein, there was only Tandoori Chicken, but the pan was empty. The waiter said something to me, but it was hard for me to understand him because of his thick accent and because he was chewing food. I finally understood him to be saying that he would bring more chicken. I pile my plate with different colors of goop and sit down at my table. After sampling everything, I quickly determined that Indian food is not my thing. It is just too spicy and, well, goopy. I am not going to say the food is bad. It is just that I had never eaten Indian food before and my palate is unused to it. Other people who are more familiar with this food might find it excellent. Indeed, the Tandoori chicken, when it finally arrived, was good. I give this establishment high marks for cleanliness and ambience, and average marks for food and service. I would have given higher marks for service, except that the waiter was eating while on the job. While this does not personally bother me, especially considering that I had arrived during the restaurants off hours, it still must be counted against them. Most customers do not want to see their waiters eating while serving them. So, overall, I give this place 3 stars, which is a decent rating in my book. I may go back and give this place another try, and update this review accordingly. It really is a beautiful place.

It was my birthday, I keep look for a good Indian restaurant I select this one. Place look fine but Me and family we order different dishes the price high according to the amount of food , chicken butter dish it like what left over from buffet they add to sauce all total chicken in dish not worth even 2$ compare for the price of 13$ , mix grill 19$ the dish worth about 4$, they cut the kabob and chicken to very small pieces to make the plate look full. When ask them why like that, the server said that the way we serve, I do not create any problems it was my birthday do not want to be sad , finely it is not that good choice never back again. May the open buffet which cost about 10$ is much better than dinner time. The market in place look dirty , I do not know how kitchen look like.

Horrible food! The food was slop food that reminds me of cafeteria food. This restaurant OVERCHARGED us doubled the bill. The menu states that the price for the buffet is $8.99 yet they charge us $9.99 and somehow doubled the total to $46.68 for 2 people!! We have reported them and no doubt they will be reported to the BBB. This place has disgusting food. I would never go back there again!! The people stood there rudely staring at patrons instead of working. Two of the employees stood there flirting with each other rather then do their job. Quality is horrific and overly spiced and the food must of sat there all day. We go there at 4pm and the salad looked bad and the fruit was not even cold. I would never reccommend this place to anyone! Not even if Obama ate there!
