I was a little wary of Freshly because of their mixed reviews. I decided to try them out because of an article I read about them, but also because they seem to have great customer service and are very open to criticism. I was pleasantly surprised! Let me say first of all that it seems like they have made a lot of changes because a lot of the problems mentioned in reviews 6-12 months ago seem to no longer be an issue (for example complaints of overcooked or bland food). The packaging and presentation looks like it has improved since pictures were posted awhile ago as well. Freshly facilitates a change to (or continuance of) a healthy lifestyle, that being said, they are not miracle workers. Their meals are not going to taste like your favorite fast food, nor are they going to give you the instant gratification that fried salty food does. Imagine the very best microwaved healthy food you can think of. That is what you are going to get. I can tell a difference in my body after just one week of meals. My mood is better, I have more energy, and I just generally feel better. Freshly makes it easier for me to make healthy choices because it makes healthy food readily accessible. I make the worst decisions when I am hungry because I want something filling and fast. In the past I have gone for fast food in those moments, but now I can have a healthy filling meal in under 3 minutes! I also love that every piece of the packaging is as eco-friendly as possible. The ice packs are non toxic and can be re-used or you can drain the inside goo in the sink and recycle the rest. The box insulation is made from recycled denim. Some tips for using freshly: 1) If you tend to like food spicier, saltier, or more flavorful, be prepared to add your own spices. I do not think the meals need it, but some people complained about bland food in the reviews. The inside of the cardboard sleeve has suggestions for spices to add to bring out the unique flavors of each meal. 2) Order your first weeks worth of meals and then go immediately to account settings and "skip" the following week in order to allow yourself time to decide whether or not you want to continue service. The turn around window is small. After your first delivery, you have 48 hrs or less to make your choices for the next week or skip it. Although Freshly sends E-mail reminders, it is easy to forget. 3) Microwave the meals according to instructions. They recommend that you put your meal on a plate before microwaving, but they provide instructions for both microwaving in the package or on a plate. I have been heating my meals in the package and I am happy with them. 4) There are short articles on the insides of the cardboard sleeves that are insightful and even inspiring!

If I could give them negative stars I certainly would! I was so excited to sign up for a healthy- food delivery service for my familys busy weekdays but I havent even received my first delivery yet and Im already disappointed! After seeing their ad on Facebook, I went to their website and everything looked amazing so I proceeded to sign up. The default delivery date showed this Friday and I discovered I was unable to change the delivery date to next week (as I know I will be out of town this weekend for Easter). On this same screen it states, "You can change the day later," so I went on through the purchasing process. I selected the $129 plan for 12 meals a week which I felt was worth it considering the time I would save during the week. After completing my order I could not find anywhere that would let me change the date. I searched all over the site and the Help section with no luck so I emailed customer service with my concerns immediately after placing the order. Their reply was absolutely shocking. Shocking because its 2016 and Customer Service is key to the success of any business and Freshly could care less if they address my issue. They basically told me that the order was already processed and suggested that I donate the food or give it to a friend if I dont want it. I never said I did not want the delivery, it just needs to come next week because I will be out of town Fri-Sun so no one would be there to receive the order. I cannot wrap my mind around how they believe this is an acceptable reply to my email. Im a brand new customer that expressed my concerns about the delivery date 4 days prior to delivery and literally as soon as I placed the order.

I learned about Freshly through an ad on social media. I knew that $36 for 6 meals was promo pricing, but I was willing to try them out. Navigating their site was easy and right after placing my promo order, I was able to put my subscription on hold. The meals were delivered on time with insulated packaging and ice packs so the meals were still cold when I put in my fridge. I loved all 6 meals I picked!! And, they were all listed in My Fitness Pal already, so logging my meals was a breeze! I went back in to place my next order and saw the normal pricing was $10 a meal. Unfortunately, at this price-point, I can make my own meals and so I did cancel my subscription (which was super easy too). If the price-point lowers to $7-8 a meal without losing quality or portion size, I would order again in a heartbeat and continue to order. Freshly, you have an amazing concept and a delicious, healthy product!! Please work on lowering your price-point so you can keep your customers! The promo pricing is getting us in, but regular pricing isnt keeping us. God Bless!

I just ordered my first week of meals and got them delivered yesterday around noon. I live in Phoenix and it is summer with temps in the 100s. I wasnt sure how they could ship them to keep it cold for 6 plus hrs on my porch before I got home but what they use for insulation worked! No worries there. So far I have tried the chicken and rosotto and the pork tenderloin with the potato cakes. Both very tasty and maybe even more gournet than what I coulf whip up myself. It was absolutely awesome to get home after a long day of work and have a tasty meal ready in about 5 mins and no clean up! Also it is healthy! Being healthy usually take a lot of planning because you have to plan and prep alot so that when you get home from work you arent tempted to grab something unhealthy because you are starving. I was only gonna do the promo week but now that I had 2 of the meals, if they are all this good I am probably gonna keep going with it because it is worth it for the convenience and the health factors. We just ate our third meal from this weeks food. I couldnt be more thrilled. I absolutely loved the cod romesco with tender green beans, the paleo chili with big chunks of meat and veggies and great flavor, and tonights salmon was very good. My husband loved the sweet and sour chicken and the turkey chili. He said he wouldnt order the cajun meatballs again. We are both so busy working and I just dont have the time to devote to making healthy and nutritious food. We are tired of the frozen food options. He loves that we have no dishes! Im really not spending any more than I would normally on our groceries and I save so much time not shopping, cooking and cleaning up. I can get more work done in my business with the time Im saving. I hope they come up with more menu choices because I plan on using this service a lot.
