I had been in search of a guest room for a surprise for my boyfriends birthday for a mini staycation that had a view of the mountains, allowed pets so we could bring our furry friend, and also had an overall good vibe. I finally came across mountain shadows. I was immediately drawn in by the location right next to camelback. I researched A LOT before booking anywhere and every other place had a pet fee and pet restrictions except for mountain shadows which I found so convenient for guests. I took advantage of the Arizona residents package which is a great idea for people who are wanting to avoid extra hotel fees and get free parking(for one car per stay)! The hotel had a 70s vibe that I picked up on right away amidst all the upgraded amenities the spirit of the old mountain shadows really shined through. My favorite part was our view from the balcony as we had a great view of camelbacks head! The room was very clean which I appreciated and the bed was oh so comfortable. The rooms have large tvs, and walk in showers which is nice. There are also a lot of little touches such as the wireless portable Bluetooth music system, the vanity with stool which is nice for the ladies, and the private balcony/patio in select rooms. The pool was amazing and my boyfriend enjoyed it very much. Friendly poolside staff ready to serve you when you need it. Wish it was open later than 10 oclock. The waiters Brought us waters right away and towels as well. There was still construction as they are building condos. This would likely put people off but it didnt bother us. They have music at the pool so it drowns the noise out some. There is not a lot of people this time of year which is great. The cocktails at the pool were quite expensive but you know we had some anyways. We never got a chance to try the food as we mostly went out but the menu had a good selection from what I could tell. You can tell a lot about a place by speaking with the front desk and everyone i spoke with was so polite and curtious. The door was always held open for us by the valet driver when we arrived and we self parked. All in all I want to thank mountain shadows on behalf of myself and my boyfriend for an amazing stay for his birthday. I know this hotel is still fairly new and has a long way to go still but it is on its way. The most important thing is customer service and they definitely have that going as well as an amazing location. Come here if you want the best of everything when it comes to amenities and accommodations, a amazing view not far from town, and friendly staff. We will definitely be back with our furry friend! Thank you again mountain shadows!

We came for a Phoenix Ivy League Council event and decided to make a staycation out of it. They have done a beautiful job of capturing Midcentury Modern chic in the renovation of this historic resort. The event happy hour was well attended by the staff and the food and drinks were great. There are plenty of beautiful views from all sides, just know that part of the hotel is still under renovations still (if you are a light sleeper!). I liked that this hotel is more intimate than some of the other Scottsdale resorts so you get more of the boutique hotel feel while still enjoying the amenities of a larger pool and the golf course. Our friends who live nearby say it has a fun happy hour so I am sure we will return for that! We brought our youngish kids with us, and while this hotel is not a kid-focused hotel like Kierland for example, all of the staff were very friendly with the kids and made us feel welcome. We also saw plenty of cute dogs so looks like it is pet friendly as well. Our only hiccup was that no one answered at the room service number listed on the menu but that was quickly remedied by a text to the Concierge who handled our order swiftly. After that I just texted orders to the Concierge which was a bonus--so happy they text! All in all happy to discover this hotel...not sure if I would have known about it if I hadnt gone to this networking event. We love a good "staycation" so this will be a repeat for sure.

I recently stayed at Mountain Shadows for a staycation. We got a cabana and spent the day at the pool. The cabanas are really nice and comfortable, the service at the pool was great tho I didnt order any food. I really like the bar downstairs for happy hour. The live music was awesome and the seating is comfortable. The rooms are modern and clean. We stayed in the Immerse Premium King. The view of camelback was amazing at Sunset. Theres a really nice bathing area that faces the mountain. The bed was comfortable though I would have liked pillows with a little more support. There was a nice mix of younger and older guests and limited children- which I prefer. I think somebody of any age would feel comfortable there. The service from the valet, to the front desk, to the bar/restaurant and even housekeeping was above average. They really went out of their way to make sure you felt comfortable and had everything you need. They were always polite and prompt. The food and drinks are pricey just like any resort in Scottsdale but the Food at Hearth 61 was outstanding. They offer a wide variety of dishes and between our table of 4 we tried a lot of them. Each course was served at the exact right moment and each dish they brought was amazing. I highly, highly recommend that you visit the restaurant during your stay, or if youre a local just for a night out - It was absolutely the highlight of our stay there.

I have been at the resort for a total of 15 minutes and needless to say I am not impressed so far. Apparently there is a pool event today and the only way to access the pool is to be a guest or pay 25 dollars for a friend to come by. The event isnt what bothers me, its the fact that there was no notice of it before I booked the room. We are staying here for my girlfriends birthday and we wanted a couple of friends to stop in and celebrate with us. They would rather cancel the room than let our 2 friends join us at the pool. I will be sure to let everyone who asks me about my stay at this new resort know about the hidden fees they may accrue, and how our experience started.

The BEST hotel ive ever stayed in!! I stayed 4 nights. Clean, modern, giant TV with ChromeCast! Amazing shower. Amazing staff! Worlds most comfortable bed. I will stay here every time I visit AZ! (If) I had to say one negative thing, it would only be that all of the patios are connected only with dividers. So you might hear your neighbors opening and closing their balcony door in the middle of the night. Also, cellphone reception wasnt good in the room. Had to go to the balcony (I have AT&T so that was surprising.) Still, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!! I WILL be back!
