First of all, this is a classic hole in the wall type of place. But dont let that discourage you from trying out this sweet spot. Service can be slow but the food is well worth the wait. Ive been to hundreds of Korean restaurants in Korea and in the US and I rank this above average, and thats a good thing. Great Korean dishes are hard to come by due to the very long process it takes for many dishes to cure to perfection. So, in essence, were all getting the short version in most places unless youre eating at home where your grandmother took the painstaking time to prepare her family the best possible or an expensive restaurant in Korea that is well known for not skipping steps (expensive due to the extra time required). This is the nature of Korean food and you cant rush it. But Ga Hyang does their best with the fact that they have to prepare food quickly just as any other restaurants must. Most people dont have a clue what Korean food is and its certainly nothing like any other Asian cuisine. Go there and ask questions, ask the other guests (politely!) and give it a shot! Definitely best in Phoenix, if not all of AZ.

Ive eaten here many times and know the owner but Ive never experienced such poor service in my life. My party of 3 ordered noodle dishes and waited... and waited... and waited. They kept saying the food would be out, but there were parties that came later that were getting their food ahead of ours! There was even a party that came later than us, ate, paid and left!! We were all irritated and decided to leave. When we told them we were going to leave because we had been waiting over an hour (I was keeping track at this point) for our food, the owner talked down to us saying, "Do you think were going to go out of business because youre not paying for your meal?". Shocked, I footed the bill and we left. They can give our food to their dogs for all I care. I will never be returning. If you would like an alternative Korean Restaurant I would try the place down the road next to Great Skate or across the street to Takamatsu.

I grew up on Korean food all my life. I have yet to find anything remotely considered passable for Korean cuisine in the entire state until I found Cafe Ga Hyang. Be it modest in appearance and location but boy does it make up for it in their food! This little diamond in the ruff is My favorite place to eat hands down. All the vegetables are cut fresh when you order and not pre cut and stuffed in bags. They give you 8 to 10 side dishes with your meal where as others give you 4. This is not your corporate chain restaurant, this is Oldshool Korean Mom and Pop style food and not your watered down hipster places who blow all their money on decor an not on flavor. I highly recommend Cafe Ga Hyang to everyone who loves Real Korean food. The people who gave bad reviews are other restaurant owners Nice Try !!! "TOP 10" in the valley multiple years in the valleys NEWTIMES !!! See for yourself !!!

Horrible service. Horrible food. I wanted to order and PAY for a side of rice with my seafood pancake. Our server got mad saying that rice shouldnt be eaten with the pancake. WTF. It was a waste of money. How can a pancake made of seafood be flavorless? The bell peppers in the pancake made it worse. The only flavor in the dipping sauce was soy sauce; none of the sweet and spicy flavors. My friend got the noodles with black bean sauce. Boring and tart. No other flavors. About an hour later, my friend and I felt sick. I threw up a few hours later and my stomach was still upset almost a day later. HORRIBLE FOOD. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Never again.

Some solid traditional Korean cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Nothing special but definitely a nice find in Glendale area if you are craving some good Korean food. Nice mom and pop staff and the food is consistently good with side dishes that are prepped fresh. A better location, perhaps a interior overhaul, and a more concise menu that really highlights a couple of dishes would bump this place to a 4 star.

A little hole in the wall thats located in a strip mall. We came here with friends. It took a while for our orders to finally come out, but good things come to those who wait! The hubs ordered Bulgogi. It was marinated and seasoned just right. I had the Kalbi Dolsot Bibim Bap which was sooo good! There was plenty of Banchan to go with your meal. I highly recommend this place! Cant wait to go back.

Omg I will never eat here or order food from here. I wanted something different. I eat food fro. All over. I ordered some Jap chai. It was roach chai. I found several roaches in my plate when I got home. It was something that may have run on the plate it was deep fried in the food. So grossed out some one needs to ca the health inspector. They need to be shut down

This is a great place if you like Korean food and know what your looking for. The Bul Goki was probably one of the best Ive had. She refilled our side dishes and me rice upon request. The price was great for the portions and quality. I would and will recommend this restaurant. If interior looks matter to you than you may not be happy.

I gave the lady a tip and she complained about how much the tip was... I did not have to give a tip to you, I could have just left it with the food I paid for. Tip is a way to say thanks to your service. Why would you complain about getting more money?? Not only that, the tables were sticky, there was no extra napkins on the table.

Great little Korean place. Dont let the unassuming exterior turn you away...sizzling delights await inside. My Bibim Bap came to the table popping and steaming away in its traditional clay bowl. My wife had the chicken teryaki and it was also wonderful. Moderately priced, pleasant service. Would dine here again, and bring friends!

Cozy little restaurant that offers amazing food and great service. Its a traditional Korean restaurant that serves delicious platters at reasonable prices and also refills the side dishes at no cost. Drinks are by the can. Soup isnt really "soup", more like meat in top of a rice bowl. Be cautious, their spicy IS spicy

My friends and I visited this place for the first time. WHILE we were eating, the owner suddenly came to us and literally said "I will not treat like human beings those who get us a small tip". We got speechless. After this horrible experience, I checked all the reviews here. It seems we are not the only victims.

Their kimchii is amzing, the depth of flavor is the best I have had in the valley thus far. All of the sides had unique crisp flavors. The sauces were very well executed as well. The parking lot and store front may be a put off but you will not be disappointed.
