Holy Wow! Talk about delicious and a great value! Late on a Sunday night in a VERY small community, a pregnant woman has a craving for chile rellenos. Where are you going to find good Mexican food close by without spending an arm and a leg? Yelp told me Ocho Locos, and boy where they right! We ordered a wide variety of items. Dont be put off by the prices on the ala carte menu, the servings are still huge! We got the Nachos supreme, some chile rellenos, Chicken tacos, a couple quesadillas, sopapillas, and flan since we had a big group to feed. Everything was spot on! It was a take out order, and food was hot and ready exactly when they said it would be, and they even carried it to the car for us. The owner rung up our bill, was courteous and nice. They even threw in free chips and salsa which is rare from other Mexican food places when you make a to-go order. We were impressed with their fresh food, and authentic flavors. The chicken tacos had a fresh mild home made green chile sauce, the rellenos were perfectly fried in a heavenly egg batter and loaded with cheese. The nachos supreme was supreme indeed, the guacamole that came with a few of our items was pure avacado goodness, no lettuce or cheap filler here, just yummy fresh smashed avacado and the perfect amount of seasoning. The desserts were so good as well! The sopapillas should be changed to Sopapillas as big as your head because thats what they were. Like a personal piece of fry bread, they were soft without being too dense, and dusted with the perfect amount of powdered heaven. If I had to say one bad thing about this place, they mixed up my order slightly. I ordered 2 flan, but got 2 tres leches cake instead. I really like tres leche as did everyone else in my party, and their was nothing to scoff at either, except they topped it with whipped topping instead of whipped cream (a personal pet peeve) but really Im almost nit picking to even point that out since it was still an overall outstanding experience. For a delicious, authentic taste from across the border, make Ocho Locos your next dining experience, and you wont be disappointed!

While the location is very convenient, at the entrance of Anthem and its one of the few Mexican restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I have many problems with this restaurant and would not recommend. Not Awful, but far from a top choice... The restaurant has 6 large flat panel TVs that are absolutely overkill and detract from family or even casual conversation for the size of their seating area. The food was Ok, but definitely on the greasy side (directly from my wife), and theyve taken all vegetarian options out of the menu. On purpose... Being a vegetarian, I asked for 3 tamales, with red sauce and avocados. Nothing fancy, and they placed the order a-la-carte and charged me $27 for this... Insane. Nothing in the menu is over $13. I asked for them to charge me a reasonable amount for the dish and they took off $2 for enchilada style. So I paid $25 for 3 tamales... Unreal. So food isnt great, the manager is unreasonable, the ambiance is awful (unless you like huge screen TVs blaring at your from 5 feet away regardless of where you are). Ill give it 2 stars just in case you like large screen TVs and greasy food :)

We were a party of two, arrived at 6:30 on Saturday Evening. Ordered an appetizer. The appetizer was served in an acceptable time and our waitress said she would be back to take order order for the meal. This was the last time we saw her until after a wait of 55 minutes when she returned with the bill for our meal. I informed her that we had not been served our meal. She said she was sorry, the kitchen had evidently lost our order but would get it taken care of right away. I requested a bill for the appetizer and told her to cancel the meal. She returned and said she was sorry but there were only two servers for the whole restaurant. She said there would be no bill for the appetizer. We left.We are sad, we eat here regularly but will not be back.

The previous restaurant was so unappealing that we stayed away for years. We decided to finally try it again with the new name/owners. The service was very good and a manager was moving around the entire restaurant to make sure that everyone had what they needed. I was underwhelmed with the chips and salsa. Chips not very fresh and the salsa is not memorable at all. I had the cheese enchiladas with green sauce and it was delicious! I really enjoyed the enchiladas, beans, green sauce, rice... all good. Margaritas were ok, but a little weak. We ordered an extra shot to give them a little kick. So, all in all good but please work on the salsa.

The food was not authentic Mexican at all. My husband got the Mexican pizza and said the meat was somewhat hit, but nothing else was, the cheese wasnt melted either. My chimichanga was the worst one Ive had from anywhere. Something seemed really off with the ground beef. The shredded cheese on top wasnt melted either. I noticed that everyones meals came out super quick, like under 10 minutes. Seems like their kitchen has a lot of pre made food in it, not fresh...

Maybe the worst Mexican food on earth. The guacamole at Taco Bell is much better. Weve eaten here four times in two years every time thinking we just hit it on a bad day and maybe THIS time it would be better.... Finally decided there is no "better;" its just as bad every time. From the watery salsa to the guacamole to the overly greasy and salty dishes, I have never had anything (except for their very good frozen margaritas) that is above one star.

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in the north valley. Great food and drink specials, plus very interesting people to meet and get to know. Not to mention the incredible themed parties. The entire staff is a pleasure to have wait on you. They are very attentive and do their best always to make the customer happy. Ocho Locos is like a second home for me, they make you feel that comfortable, honest!

Inside the restaurant was loud, the server and overall service was slow, and the food was overpriced. We ordered a salad which had a few additional items on it, but about 80% of it was lettuce. The restrooms are incredibly odd. The mens bathroom has multiple stalls, but the womens bathroom is just one stall that can only be occupied by one person and also includes the baby changing station.

I dont expect Mexican food like this in Arizona. I expect it like this in North Dakota, but not in AZ. In other words.....bad. The service was no better. Slow. Understaffed. Had to ask for waters and silverware. Got multiple orders wrong. The atmosphere was mediocre and forgettable. Avoid this place.

This restaurant deserves a good review for food, service and value. The food was good, the server was prompt and charming and the prices are conservative. My wife and I tend to be tough critics when we dine out so 4 stars from us is a recommendation. We will probably be regulars at Ocho Locos.
