We live in Wetumpka, and this is our GO TO place. This is the nicest place to eat for the price, which in my opinion is good considering all that comes with the meal. By that I mean the atmosphere, the booths are nice and clean and relatively private, food is brought to your table, you eat and drink from real dishes not paper. The food is great, they have the best chicken fingers around hands down. I have eaten chicken fingers at a variety of food establishments and these are always fresh and juicy and they are real meat. My husband loves their chicken caesar salad, the dressing is very good. I have had their ruben sandwich and have been very satisfied. I like the broccoli side salad as well as their pasta salads. They serve a Turtle Latte that is delicious. I have tasted almost all of their cookies and love the oatmeal raisin the best which surprised me as I usually like chocolate chip. They are a bit on the cake style side. They are still good but for chocolate chip cookies I prefer the good ole Nestle Toll House style crispy and chewy. This is the nicest place to eat good food in the Tallassee Eclectic and Wetumpka area.

On our last full day of a week at a cabin at Lake Martin, we rolled south to Tallassee to have lunch at the 1220 Café. The place is larger than it looks from the outside, although youll likely not be near a window. It is clean from the front to the bathrooms. Order at the counter and theyll give you a numbered card to display at your table, then theyll deliver your food when its ready. I had a Reuben, with fries. The sandwich was better than average, but not exemplary. It should have been toasted/grilled better and was just barely warm...the strong-tasting cheese wasnt melted. Self-serve Coke products, which is always a good thing. Forks, spoons, straws, and ketchup are also "grab your own" at the back of the eatery. Id definitely return, as there are hardly any decent places to eat in Tallassee that we could find. Ill try a burger next time and hope that it is hotter than the sandwich.

The half Reuben was missing the sauerkraut and was overall good but not great. The apple chicken pecan salad had dried apple slices on top which add a needed touch of sweetness. Fries were good. Hamburger was better than fast food. The chicken fingers were dark but tasted fine. Finicky 7 year old did not turn his nose up at them so we count that as good. Staff was attentive and courteous. The restaurant interior was modern and clean. The peanut butter chocolate chip cookie was ... different. The coconut white chocolate pecan cookie was delicious. The pinch of the pound cake i had was in the church bake-off winner category. Overall a place you will find something you like.

The presence of the very friendly owner -- the actual owner and founder of the place -- lends this little "can do" cafe a charming air of authenticity. Theres a good story behind this joint, and good people behind the counter, doing their very best to please you. For the best experience possible, stick with paninis and salads. (We find the fried seafood items -- particularly the shrimp -- can vary too much in terms of quantity and quality.) In a town with limited options, Cafe 1220 stands out as one of your best bets for a quick breakfast, solid lunch, or trouble-free dinner.

Their batting 500 right now. First time my wife and I ate there everything was good not great just good. Second time not so good. We ordered two salads for meals. Both were bland and not so fresh. It didnt help that the person taking our order insisted on talking to someone in the back. Not about an order either. Then tried rushing us to make an order. If its going to be like this Id rather drive to Montgomery or Auburn to get a great meal.

Everything is good the best Tallassee has. I go every Sunday after church . Everything Ive tried is so good .the only way too find food an service like 1220 cafe you would have to take a trip to Atlanta Ga. Its better than hotel Tallassee ever was .I know this is very long sorry .So if you are ever in Tallassee Ala please check out 1220 the price of food is good for the amount you get. No long wait for food. Every one is so nice

The food is good, but the prices are too high for the portion size and the area. Can I please have more than 5 fries for the $12 meal I just paid for??? Service is generally good, but sometimes it varies. Staff doesnt need to be discussing scheduling, work assignments, or personal matters in the front of house. That should be in the back with a manager amongst themselves.

For the last two years (2014 and 2015), our ladies group has gone to Cafe 1220 for dinner. We are talking about 35 ladies. We have greatly enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, the staff. Overall, our experience with Cafe 1220 has been awesome. Pam and her entire staff are great. Very polite and generous. Definitely would recommend this to anyone and everyone in the area.

Great food and environment, but occasionally have issues with a member of the staff behind the counter. If not for that, I would give this place 5 stars. Just wish this person would remember that the customer is always right (not always really LOL but dont be rude) and would ask for clarification before assuming things. Ill leave it at that.

Its nice to have the option of eating real food in Tallassee but the prices are outrageous. Its a nice place and the staff are polite and helpful. They have a stool in the bathroom so the little ones can reach the sink and hand dryer. Its def. worth eating there when you consider your other local options...

Love this little place. This place does not belong in a small town in Alabama. It is like something youd expect in Atlanta or Nashville. Its a great place with nice atmosphere and super good food.

I just ate a chicken parmesan sandwich with a bowl of tomato soup on a cold night and it was delicious, and I must say that the help here is out of sight.

Great atmosphere. Clean, inviting, modern, cozy and great food. Similar to a Panera Bread. Prices are a bit high, thus four stars.

Best restaurant in Tallassee, but their prices keep increasing. The chicken wraps are a good go-to, and their cookies are awesome!
