First of all, I have to start by saying that I am a Korean. And when I was there for Sunday lunch yesterday, there was no other Korean guests. What might it mean? Their food might be good for non-Koreans. Unfortunately, I have to let readers know that Hosoonyi doesnt make the real authentic Korean food. So please dont think that their food is the real one. To me, none of what I ordered was tasty. The other thing is that every food I put in my mouth gave me a strong flavor of MSG. Not tasty food even with that lots of MSG is a little shameful. Based on the numbers of guests I saw yesterday and quite decent reviews here in Google, I assume that people who dont know the real Korean food might like Hosoonyis food. However, if you really want to have real and good Korean food, I would suggest you to avoid this place.

This was the best Korean restaurant 4 years ago. It was always packed with Korean customers. If you visit a Korean restaurant but there is no Korean customers inside, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. I had dinner in Hosoonyi July 28 2009. At 6PM, the place only had 3 tables of customers. When the food came, I could not believe this is Hosoonyi quality that I used to have. It was bad. The seafood pancake was over oily and the beef was so hard that hard my teeth. After the dinner, I called my Korean friends to ask what happened to Hosoonyi. They told me the owner changed couple years back and they make the space bigger but food quality is just not there anymore. They even wonder if the cook in the kitchen is still Korean or not. R.I.P Hosoonyi.

not worth it. for starters out hostess knows nothing about new Costumer service they just assume we knew how it even worked we learned after having to ask it was family style. the tea taste like rice water Im not being dramatic, I use to work at Anthonys, it tasted like rice water. I ordered a soda one can for $1.50! what?! on top of it all the food portion isnt worth the price and Ive gotten better and more food for a cheaper price across the street at Mannas. I cant see myself coming back here.

The food is good, really really good. As a Korean person I must say that the food is truely authentic. They are always busy and you will often receive poor service. Good prices, some of the best Korean food in the area, but long waits and bad service. Oh yeah, and the rumors of them being racist are true. The staff there seem to hate white people. I am sure it is not all of them. They probably also hate other races as well. When you make so much money, you can choose your customers. Messed up!

They gave you 12 side dishes with your order! 12!! That is a lot. We ordered two tofu soup. One with pork and one seafood. Both of them taste really good and with decent edible ingredients. Why did I say "edible"? Lots of Korean restaurants here put the lowest quality ingredients in tofu soup because the main star of such dish is the tofu. This place at least from my seafood soup, ingredients are decent. Service a bit slow because it was busy and not enough wait staff.

This place is the bomb. I have wanted to try it for a while as I drive by it often, was not disappointed. If youve never had Korean this should probably not be the first place you go because its so good all others will fail to meet he standard. This place was specifically recommended by a Korean friend who lives in Seattle and drives to this location to get his fix. 10/10 would try again. Do it.

The meal started with 12 (yes 12!) delicious side dishes made fresh every hour or two—most places offer 6 or so bland & mediocre side dishes. Then our entrees came out and I was surprised at the portions. Fish was large and fried wonderfully. My stir fry spicy squid was flavorful and had the right texture. Had a beer on the side. Wonderful meal and service, what else can I say?

I am not an expert in Korean cuisine, but Hosoonyi is worth the drive from Seattle. The Korean BBQ meats are great. We usually get either the Gal-Bi or Dwe-Jee-Bool-Go-Gi (or both if the party is large enough). You should also definitely get the green onion pancakes. Last time we had the Flounder - which was great (however, watch out for the bones Westerns!).

Wow has this place ever taken a dive. I thought Koreans were supposed to be good businessmen. Service was terrible. Two tables of Asians got their food before we did and they arrived after us. Food was bad. Pork was dry and too spicy. Bulgogi was also dry and stringy. No tip and we wont be back!

Really good Korean, they have a good vegetarian/veganish bibimbap option, its not just a meat one without the meat like some other places Ive been to. Friendly service and lots of side dishes. FYI it is saltier than a lot of other places Ive been to be not overwhelmingly so.

Very good tofu soup, small plates are both unlimited and also surprisingly good. Only downside is that it is a little far north from Seattle, but it was able to seat us (a large party of 14) with no advance notice on a Saturday evening. Very attentive wait staff.

This Korean Family restaurant have a variety of choices you will not see in typical K restaurants. The Prices are reasonable, the portions are decent, and the service is very friendly. My only suggestion is to go with more than 2 people so you can order more.

This Korean barbeque place is one of my favorites. They have delicious bulgogi, spicy pork and pancake. The little side plates they give you is also wonderful. I believe they are a little on the pricy side but the restaurant is decent.

So Im not the biggest fan of the food that I have already tried (The soup dishes). but the decor is amazing. I love the feel and the service I get from this establishment. I am going to continue to return and try more options.

Bad customer service. It was painful getting a refill of tea. Otherwise the food was ok. As noted by other foodies, there are more "authentic"- to a Korean palatte, places in town but Hosoonyi is a decent place for dinner.

Ive been a regular customer, frequently enjoying their soon dobu or kimchi chigae and their spicy pork bulgogi, but recently, it seems like quality has slipped. Maybe thats just a blip, but it makes me less eager to recommend.

Traditional floor seating available. Wide variety of banchan. Super busy on weekends but food is worth waiting for. K-restaurants are not typically known for attentive service but Hosoonyis service is great!!

They have really good quality side dishes. Tofu soup and cold noodles are delicious. I accidentally added too much mustard oil and they fixed the problem. Good food+good service +good environment!
