If youd rather not stand in long lines in Madison Square Park or youre on the Upper West Side looking for an affordable bite, may I recommend Shake Shack if you havent already thought of it. Soft, pillowy (potatoy or eggy) hand split buns, crisped burger meat, melted cheese and fresh toppings make this better than the average burger. I wouldnt go all out and say its the best burger ever. It is perfect for fast food. Its deeee-licious. I ordered the Shack Burger, which is about $1 more than the regular hamburger. The Shack Burger includes cheese and Shack Sauce minus the onions. The regular hamburger omits the cheese (obviously) and Shack Sauce but has onions. Is the cheese and sauce worth the extra $1. Yes. The regular hamburger isnt shabby, but if youre wanting some cheese $1 is too much, but throw in sauce for that $1 and you got a deal. That is, I felt like it was a deal. The seasonal Strawberry Lemonade was refreshing and a nice accompaniment to the savory bites. We didnt order the fries, because they seemed like standard frozen crinkle cut fries. Along with the burgers, we split a Shack-ago dog. The split and grilled hot dog was a nice rendition of the Chicago hot dog. Its missing poppy seeds and neon green relish. Also, it was a bit too wet from the non-neon green relish. It can hit the spot, if youre really missing a Chicago dawg. Overall good experience and worth a revisit. People thought this was:

I am a burger fan. I like burgers. Do you like burgers? LETS GO BURGER HUNTING THEN? Enough sillyness. I actually had my first Shake Shack burger for the very first time today, and met me say I am very satisfied. I ordered the Double Smokeshack burger. It is a double patty burger thats cooked to well done with this awesome chipotle tasting sauce(may its chipotle), and bacon. Meat lovers choice! The burger isnt huge, and it isnt tiny. The bun isnt cooked, toasted, or anything special, but it did not take away from the burger. My burger ran me $10 after tax, and I wasnt bloating after, but it was satiating. The decor. Inside the Shake Shack are small booths and counters with seats. The seating could hold perhaps 60 people at max, however this includes the basement. Its not a very big place and during lunch or dinner, that baby is packed. The interior is mainly a wood style design and very clean and classy. The employees are very nice, but dont be a dick and take advantage of them. I guess I should have ordered a shake. It IS"Shake" Shack. Oh well. next time. Oh, and if you have a dog, dog food is sold as well. This isnt a joke.

Probably the best fast food option in NYC. Not only are ingredients several notches above most chains (Ive seen their meat deliveries from a butcher that supplies to many of the finest restaurants), but the Shake Shack burger is consistently seasoned and assembled. It looks great, too, as compared to other burgers. For me, seasoning is too strong (read very salty), but Im nitpicking. Shakes, and "concretes," are extra thick, if very sweet. Sadly, the fries are frozen for the sake of consistency. I prefer a freshly-cut fry, even if each batch is a bit different, but apparently Im in the minority. This location is very pleasant, with plenty of outdoor seating directly across in the MNH park. Indoor seating is very limited, though there is a downstairs room. Avoid rush hours, as the line snakes out the door. A quick note on my rating scale: 5 stars = exceptional food & service; 4 stars = excellent food & service; 3 stars = decent to good (top-of-the-line for fast service restaurants); 2 stars = mediocre; 1 star = not recommended.

Excelente lugar!

Im sure at this point everybody knows what the food is like at Shake Shack. I liked this particular location for a few reasons. The first thing is how great the staff were. All of the staff has a smile and genuinely seemed to be happy to help. If you look lost for even a second they all of they can help you and start to suggest where seats are free/directions to bathroom etc. Above and beyond. This location is also very convenient to the natural history museum and Central Park. The seating on ground floor is really great. There arent a huge number of seats in the ground floor, but the ones that they do have are against a long window which runs the length of the frontage of the restaurant. I sat at one of these tables and it was a very pleasant place to eat while looking outside. There are additional tables downstairs in the basement level, as well as bathrooms down there. I didnt go down there so cant comment on that.

Had the chance to visit Shake Shack and I waited in line for waaaay too long for a decent burger, fries, and a milkshake. Food was good but was not great and definitely not worth the long wait! Using some tips from a friend and a cashier, I ordered a cheeseburger, but ordered it well done, fries, and the black and white milkshake. The cheeseburger was good but not the best Ive had... I also now understand why there were even more people at the McDonalds in the area as well. The fries were well seasoned. The milk shake was made with custard but I enjoyed the chocolate taste from the syrup. I left satisfied with my meal but definitely regretting the total cost of the meal. However, I can now say that Ive been to another one of the tourist traps in the city of New York. Overall the Shake Shack is A-Ok. Not a WOW on my list and not a value meal but its a decent place to try if you are in the area.

Same awesome menu as their other locations. Although this places seemed particularly crowded just times I visited. I tried the burger with the deep fried mushroom for the first time and total fell in love! It was absolutely stuffed with cheese that was perfectly melted. The panko breading was crispy - a great balance to the gooey inside. I think that next time I would add bacon, simply because I can. Theres a restroom and additional seating downstairs. But because there are only two single restrooms, I line is likely to form and run up the skinny set of stairs. Dont forget to check out their special concrete or milkshake because different locations offer different flavors. When I visited, only this location was offering a concrete in honor of the current Shakespeare in the Park Play that was only available for that month. So fun! I would also recommend the Bacon Cheese Fries!

I finally decided to give in and try Shake Shack. I walked 12 blocks there and 12 blocks home, in an effort to burn some of the many calories I was ready to consume. I got there before the line was out of control--- believe it or not I was the only person in line (there was a crowd waiting for food of course). Then after I ordered, there came the masses. The staff wasnt overly friendly--- although I got concierge like service from the man tidying up by the napkins and ketchup lol--- but they showed ok customer service. About the food: First, let me say $15.58 for a burger, fries, and shake is absolutely absurd! BUT, Oh! My! Gosh! That burger was AMAZING! I got the single Shack Burger, and every single bite melted in my mouth! Im not a burger person, which is why I was able to resist for so long, but this burger made a believer out of me.
